Title: Scrapbooking our Faire Adventures
Post by: susannah on June 20, 2008, 11:04:17 AM
Greetings fellow crafters...I remember on our old forum there was a topic created for those who scrapbook their faire memories or any memories. Magister, may we reinstate this topic here? I should have some pages complete by the weekend and I'd love to post them and hear from other scrapbookers as well. I'm a newbie scrapbooker, but I'm very fortunate to have a wonderful supply store in town that offers a variety of classes and I take advantage of them!

Ofcourse!  Have at it.  Sorry I didn't recreate the thread when we moved over.

Have you seen the Happily Ever After scrapbook? It's full of REN and Fairie and Pirate type pages, it is soooo cool. I'm gonna use that to scrapbook my Renn pix in. :D

Who makes that? Is it Die Cuts With a View? I purchased their Once Upon a Time stack and used it for a few layouts last year. Here's one of them:

Sorry for the delay with my pages, Lady Joyce Ann...I just finished the last of them and took pics yesterday.
I've never taken pictures of my scrapbook pages before...it's hard than it seemed it would be.
The first 2 pages are of Three Quarter Ale and Joni Minstrel, the second 2 pages are the Nickel Shakespeare Girls, and the final page is my handsome husband!! Enjoy!!

The title on the top left corner reads "There lived a handsome prince" with prince crossed out and pirate replacing it...it's hard to read in my picture!

I'm so so sp far behind in scrapping my faire photos ... But I'm chipping away at it!  Some of the faire pages I have finished are online on a scrapbooking forum site, I hope this link works:

Oh ... Rusty Pickle has a Pirate alphabet clear stamp set - it goes with their whole line of piratical things.  And skulls are popular for Halloween this year - but I'm comandeering them for pirate pages!

Thanks for sharing your gallery! I especially like your "What's in a Name" layout. :) Oh! And you've reminded me that I have some Rusty Pickle Cap'n Jack papers to use with my pirate pics!

Blushing...your layouts are great! I adore the PalsGarb and the Shire/Folk layouts!
And thanks for the tip on the Rusty Pickle alphabet.
Along those lines, do y'all have any suggestions for scrapbooking supplies shopping (online or stores)?
I have a favorite store here in Atlanta called Atlanta Scrapbook Connection, but I'm eager to explore other vendors as well.

Great page, sealion. Are those chip board letters or stickers you used for the title?
Title: Re: Scrapbooking our Faire Adventures
Post by: sealion on September 08, 2008, 01:22:53 PM
They are chipboad letters that I painted with crackle paint then glazed then inked! lol The "old paper' paint was a weird pale green color so I went over them with some gold glaze but I still didn't like how they looked so I rubbed them with some caramel ink.

PS- If you are looking for a fun scrapping board to hang out at try ScrapFreak.com :) (My username there is HappyStamper)

Thanks for the scrapping board info, sealion. I'll have to check that out as well.
Great tip for the chipboard letters...I love crackle paint and you did a great job creating the "old paper" look.

I know that some fall faires have Halloween themed weekends. I just took a great class at my local store creating Halloween theme layouts using the "Frightful" line from Little Yellow Bicycle. The embellishments are adorable! Check them out.

And for all of you, who don't have the time to buy cut and paste.. you can make it online and print it.

http://www.scrapblog.com/
and you can download anything you want for paper or other things as well, there are lots of free ones for this

Thanks sealion and susannah!

Awesome ideas all ... I'm certainly going to be "scraplifting" some!

I played with the Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels today - you spray on shiny spatters on your papers (I'm actually going to try it on some fairy photos and see how it looks).  I'll let you know as soon as I post some new layouts online.

As for online shopping ... I've been VERY pleased with www.scrapbook.com.  Their customer service is great, and everything comes packaged well - even the papers!

Hmm...I need to figure out how to scan 12 x 12 pages!  I haven't scrapped TRF from this year yet, but I've done the 3 years prior.  My favorite from last year is the Top 10 Things My Daughter Learned at TRF.  I'll post it as soon as I figure out how to scan it.  I saw that someone just took a photo of the whole page.  Any other suggestions?

I use an inexpensive and very easy to use stitching program by ArcSoft called Panaorama Maker. There is a free trial period so check it out.

Have an awesome time susannah ... that looks like a neat place to escape to and scrap!  =)

I actually finished a faire album before New Year's - although I'm still way WAY behind, all my 2003-2004 faire photos are now in a massive album!  And I'm halfway finished with 2005.  I'll try to upload photos if any of you are interested in seeing the new pages.

So I'm almost finished with my 2006 faire photos ... I'm just blazing along.  I still need to upload photos of the pages somewhere to share.  =)

I hope everyone else is crafting away ... it's been quiet here!

I got a subscription to scrapbooks, etc magazine for my birthday last month, so I'm full of inspiration...just waiting around for mid-April when I can go to faire!! :)

I'm looking forward to taking new faire photos, but I'm STILL two years behind!  I wrapped up my third all-faire album last weekend.  I really need to take photos of the finished pages - sorry!

I will say that I'm addicted to the super-thick embossing glazes: clear (with colored inks, bronze, copper and gold.  I'm used them on some chipboard pieces and they look like metal bits.

Sadly, I've got a month to either figure out why my current camera is acting up, or figure out how to replace it!

Thought I would revive this topic a bit. Anyone out there documenting "A Week in the Life" along with Ali Edwards? I did this back in 2008 and enjoyed it. Now this year, I have a 4 and a half month old and faire to document!!
You can read more about it here:

I had to comment so I can find this page again later and read everything. I just skimmed the pictures. I love all of it. I love to scrapbook. I have yet to scrap any of my faire pics. I have only been to faire 2 years, so I'm not to far behind.
