WOOHOO!!!  It's getting to be like a party in here.  Hey if a bunch of us are going lets meet up and say "hi".  Although he has not chimed in Brother Robert, I'm sure will be there, probably more often then most of us put together.  I would love to meet all of you.

Hi, Goody.

No, you haven't missed anything. The schedule's not up yet but I've heard it will be posted soon. There is also apparently going to be some sort of special entry deal on opening weekend but it hasn't been decided whether it will be a 2 for 1 or a discount. Again, we should know soon so keep checking the website!

Another good source for info updates is the NYRF Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/nyrenfair.

I hope to make opening day too--can't wait!

YEA!!!! Brother Robert, how fare thee my friend?  I called, number changed?  Yes first round is on me.  I have a new bottle of Tequila ready to go and I will be purchasing some rum before.  Have flask will travel.  I will see you before hand outside hopefully.  If not I always see you inside.   Not sure if my two older ones will make it as it is not my weekend, but my sister will be there with me.  Should we set a meeting place as the only people I ever consistantly see are you and Green Monk.  I guess the Lord figures I need guidance.

Planning a trip (first time in a few years) for Aug. 14 and I'm patiently waiting for the schedule.  I'm really hoping to catch Wolgemut and I want to be sure I don't miss them.  Though I am going with my mom and a few of the friends...I may buy a schedule anyway for them to keep.

According to their website, Wolgemut is scheduled to be at NYRF for the entire season this year. Huzzah! They are terrific and I can't wait to see them again.

Hey Goody.  I think the best discount (opening weekend) is if you print the ticket on that attached link and present it at the gate - $16.

They'll probably end up with ticket deals later in the season and are trying to capitalize on the opening weekend (?) I dont know.. I do notice the price change on the Queens pass though lol. I wonder if parking went up too.. Hmmmm...

I may have to pillage the poor box..

My memory is going as quickly as the hair on my head but my recollection is that it's been at least 3 years since they did the 2 for 1. I'm pretty sure last year was a discounted admission on opening weekend also.

I think the rationale is that they want to encourage people to fork over their money early so they don't want to undercut the Early Bird discount which comes out in December--$12.00 this year--at a later point in time. If they offer a deal that is better than $12.00, then people will buy fewer tickets in December.  I'm just guessin'...

I will be attending on opening weekend as well. I am hoping for coupons at least. If anyone sees any please let us (I have a few people I am funding to go to faire on saturday) so I can not pay full on 3 people or so.

Go to the web site and print out the coupons.  I also suggest buying them on line if you can with the discount as the lines opening day are usually long.

1 count them.........1 day.

So I'm at work telling every one to go faster and get done because I have to go home and polish my sword.  they look at me and I say, " No, that's not a euphemism for playing with myself."  Then I tell them about NYRF.

But back to the main point 1

Hey Bob! Was good to meet you! We still have to find a way to get everyone together hehe.

I'll be there every weekend, both days, so feel free to come find me. I do water-bearing for the cast all day, so I wander the grounds a lot. However, I am always at both maypole dances, and most of the RH Bridge Scenes so you can always find me lingering in those places each day.

It was good to meet you too, Brother Robert! I guess loitering after Pub Sing is a good way to find people (if you know what they look like  ;)).  I'll probably be there next week for one of the days but I don't know which one yet. Now that I know where to find you, I'll be sure to stop by one of your "events" and say "hi."

Judging from opening day, I think we are in for a fine Faire season!

There is a chance I will be there on saturday again second and third weekends. I spend a lot of my free time (between the shows I really like) at the smithy and at Luundgard Guildhall.

We went today. Anyone else think the faire has improved overall? More shows and event space, and things going on. Far more music (find the guy playing the hammered dulcimer if you're going on 8/29 - he's really great) and bagpiping than I've seen in years past.

I was there Saturday too, and I think what they're doing this year is great. I especially like that the cast interacts more with patrons--it makes it feel more like we're all a big family. Music is always a big part of Faire for me so I'm jazzed (no pun intended!) by the current groups, and by the guest artists they've brought in. Three Pints Shy last weekend, The Brigands, The Ramblin' Sailors, and Vince Conaway (the hammered dulcimer guy) this weekend were all fantastic. I hope management keeps bringing in guest musicians. I do miss seeing a full Shakespeare play but other than that, I really like the "new look!"

I too like all of the music.  And the thing I miss the most is a Shakespearean play.

Did any one go the Sunday that it rained?  I was there with my kids.  We did a lot of shopping.

whoa...the Brigands were there this past weekend? and Vince Conway? ( Last time we saw him was years ago at Stockwood Faire at Twin Lakes! ) am I missing something? My mundane life here is so over bearing these days and I do not get on line often...was there an announcement on the NYRF website? How do we find out what is going on?!!? How times have changed....we used to make faire every weekend..back to back days! now..we are lucky if we can make it to faire 3 times a season... :(...ok...off to drown my sorrows...LF

oh...before I do...yes, I think this year's faire is wonderful! Hopefully, next year, if Bret comes back, things will be even more wonderful! Maybe Daniel Greenwolf too? :)) Love his show..now..off for that pint...

LF, I didn't see or hear anything in advance about the Brigands and Vince Conway being there last weekend. The only "announced" special guests were the Ramblin' Sailors so I guess the others were "surprise" special guests. It was a very nice surprise, I must say!

Actaully, I have a question.  We stopped and had a drink at the Blue Boar Inn, and I don't recall that pub from years ago...is it new?  New to me would be at least 5 years old, mind you.

What a cool pub that was!  I'd be spending way too much time there, I think.

Aiacha - yes, it's relatively new. It was added 3 or 4 years ago--probably 4 by now. And I agree, it is a great place to have a drink and listen to the music. I'm usually there for 1 or 2 performances at some point during the day.

I actually asked Conaway about it, and he said last weekend was just a trial run for him to get to know the faire and stuff. He said he knew a good amount of people there from other places, so hopefully he'll be back next year on a more permanent basis.

Oh, and I forgot - go see Cast in Bronze if you haven't already. That act is awesome. (A bit strange playing parts of Carol of the Bells in August, but whatever...)

will be there next Sunday..not this one..again...family obligations :(( faire will be over before we know it :(((( LF ( hoping to make the CT faire at least. )
