Help!! I'm in need of a custom size hoop for our queen. Do you make hoops, know someone/company that makes hoops, or have a plus size hoop we could buy?
Thank you!
I bought mine from moresca (http://www.moresca.com/product_info.php?products_id=39) over a decade ago now. It still holds up and they do come in plus sizes now.
This might be an option, thank you. Still looking for custom possibilities.
Lady Kathleen makes them too, and her prices are competitive with online stores. She does custom work.
I plan to place an order soon for my next one-which will eventually replace a $70.00 Sofi's Stiches 10 year old, 4 hoop, cotton farthinglale with steel hoops.
SS is asking close to $100.00 for a new one.
I don't like 'wedding satin' that many places make their hoops from. I want cotton.
Thanks for the heads up, Rowan. I just placed an order for Hoop Steel and tips. I need to make myself another Farthingale as well. The one I have been wearing is now 9 years old that I made to go with my Mary, Queen of Scots gown.
I use a sturdy Drapery Lining that is 100% Cotton. Plastic coated Hoop Steel. Wide Bias for the channels, wide lace over the steel channels so that they do not show underneath, drawstring waist. $95 plus $10 shipping. This farthingale will last years and is easy to care for.
I take out the steel and gentle cycle wash several times during the year. Mine does not touch or drag on the ground.. You will be surprised as to how long one can wear these between washings.

Thanks to Lady Kathleen we have our custom hoop! So many fears and anxiety averted. I must say it is perhaps some of the most beautiful undergarment sewing I have ever seen. She treated it no differently than the fanciest outergarment. I showed it to my mom (who owned a sewing business for many years) and she was dully impressed.
Huzzah!! Huzzah!! Huzzah!!
