Title: Candles in the sand....
Post by: LisaBoyer on July 18, 2010, 02:12:25 PM
I'm not sure if this belongs in art, but here goes.

In the seventies, there was a booth at the CA faire that allowed you to make candles..they were in sand, and came out with wavy sides, multi colors and some with pillars on the corners.  Everything looked like nature carved it, there was nothing straight or formed.

I have been trying to find someone that does the same technique, but I'm not having alot of luck.

Any help offered in locating a candle maker that does this, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much,
Lisa

Are these actual 'sand candles'? They were a fad in the 60's and 70's.
In the 70's we used to make them by pouring wax into damp sand molds.
