Also this year's selection for RenDevous '08 over Memorial Day Weekend, May 24, 25 and 26...The third thus far and coinciding with both Menage Ette Trois (the 3rd annual Ette Invasion of Tennessee) and a momentous second year in a row for a meeting of members of Clan M'Crack.  AKA "Triple ThrETTE."  See the RenDevous '08 thread for more.

It was cold and windy today. It was in the 50's all day. That's cold for this time of year.

We had the same weather! It's a good reason to wear a cloak, or at least an excuse to add more to your garb closet.  :)

Im new to this group and im glad i found it. I just went to the Renaissance festival in Tn and it was my first time ever. This thing was so awesome. I had so much fun and the people playing the parts were so friendly. I wish this festival was here year round. Does anyone know if this is held anywhere else in Tn or close by. Im going again this next coming up weekend and again the last weekend of May.

Welcome Jeff! Glad to hear your first faire experience was a great one!

The festival is held every weekend in May, but there are other smaller faires in the state. I know several others here who are better at naming those than myself.  :D

I hope to see you this weekend. Love meeting new people! I'm not sure which day I'm going (depends on my bro's work schedule) but I wouldn't miss pirate weekend for anything. I'll also be there Memorial Day weekend for the big RENdezvous gathering.

Several members have an RF pins. It's shield with R/F on it. some are painted. Introduce your self and and we'll introduce you to the rest.

If you come early Memorial day weekend look for an R/F flag outside the gates. we'll be gathering before the faire.

see the rendevous threads.

I'll be the one dressed like a pirate! Oh wait, pirate weekend. Well alright I'll be a black and blue pirate! Hahaha. My brother and I will look for you in the morn just inside the gate, Jeff. Not much longer! I need to get some sleep, but I'm too excited. I feel like a kid at Christmas. Faire season has finally began for me! Huzzah!

I'm very excited about being able to attend this weekend.  I'm tagging along with my wife's singing group Hither, Dither, and Yon (shameless plug) who will be playing the streets.  I can't wait, if only my work week was done now so I could head on down.  If any of you are on cast, please come up and say hi, as I should be at the morning meeting... I'll be in the nobles garb with the big red had and stipped sleeves and slops.

If there is anyone in the nobles cast that can, please send me a quick private message, I need to ask a question.

I hope to see many of you this weekend

{Edit} Syrilla and Renfairephotographer helped me with my questions... thanks guys!

Well, Festival 2008 is over.   :'(

As always, we had our Memorial Day Rain.  I think it is the festival's way of crying.  There were only a handful of Paytrons left at the end of the day due to the monsoons...but there was lots of spirit!  Health To the Company was sung as well as Beggars to God.  A quiet ending to an awesome weekend.

Lots of new cast memebers this year.  Just a few older faces left.  I missed the last Joust.  Who won the tournament?

IT RAINED!

*Festmum knows what I mean... ;)*

Yep, we lasted to the end, drenched to the skin, teeth chattering and all.
It was terrific!

Well I can honestly say that you guys the cast not only made my week last weekend but also my entire faire season. I felt like a kid at a candy store and like I was living on cloud nine while visiting your faire. I have to say that i miss yalls faire already as i am so looking forward to hopefully playing with yalls nobles court again next year. You guys were truly alot of fun to work with. There were a couple of things that really stand out in my mind however with one being that i actually had patrons to play with (as i have never seen as many people in my life come to a faire like that) and the other thing is is how you guys treated me like i was a part of your family.I will forever be greatful for that. Now what I would like to know is how the big cast party went that Jacob threw as I wanted to be there but we ended up having to leave on Monday morning. If I know all of yall it was probably wild and crazy like most rennie of the season cast parties are.

I wondered if ya'll caught all of that rain...As I was driving through Tennessee toward Arkansas on Monday, I drove through some pretty nasty downpours.

Sounds like Rennies of a Feather all flock together an' find wondermous ways t' pass th' tyme.  :)

Hi there! Juliette here (better recognized as "CVS" this year) with a report on the party that we threw over at Jacob's. We had a pretty good turnout. A few people took the paddleboat out on the pond, we had a fire going all night for roasting and heat and while there was some heat lightning the rain did stop in time. :) Jacob spun records during the night and I think everyone had a really great time. I'll see if I can collect all the photos that a few people took into one album for you guys to see. I'd also like to say to anyone that was there, you guys are pretty awesome with your own cleanup. There wasn't much for me (with Syrilla's help) to do after almost everyone was gone. By about 9 the next morning you couldn't even tell there had been a party.

But yes, there was dancing, drinking, eating, laughter and much fun and relaxation going on.

Rachel and I are already planning for next year. Mwahahahaha!!!

Hopefully I will be able to attend next year. Now this going to sound funny but I only know a few by name the others i only by their character name so Juliette if you could help me remember who everybody is then that would help me know who i am playing with next year at your faire.

Julliette,
I forgot to add don't be sorry.I like Lord Wessex it is an awesome nickname to have at a faire. As a matter of fact you guys at Tenn.Renn are the second to give me a nickname that I like.Back at my home faire in Virginia My nickname is Horsey which stems from a character that I have that became popular after only 2 short years.

Hey you! No worries hon. There were a lot of people who had the same problem with work the next morning. I'll post a link to the pictures once I get them from everyone. :) There was much fun abounding.

If you can snatch it off my head you are still more than welcome to it. (or snatch it from the bench during the morning fight call) I love my hat. :)

Take care hon!

Lady Catherine - I do believe you have Kit and I mixed up (since we no longer have our pictures)... dang gone it I'm Lord Wessex!!!  Stop trying to steal my evil from me Kit!!!  Your not allowed to have it.

It was great to work with you guys last weekend and thank you for taking us in, playing with us, and keeping us from wilting in the heat like some unattended flower.

I had two of the nicest comments I have ever had at faire last weekend, the fist was the Lord Wessex comparison... which I love, since I love his character in that movie, second, I forgot who it was, but someone said... "all of the patterns you mixed on your costume makes me want to puke, but it looks good on you"... that might be my favorite compliment ever!

Sorry Bill it looks like the torch has been passed on to you.I promise that I will not try to steal your thunder from you any more LOL! Okay it's my turn for a nickname now i'm interested in seeing what yall have for a gold black and red noble like myself.I to must echo Bill you guys were truly an awesome bunch to work with this past weekend.

I will also second his thanks on taking us in and keeping from drooping like an old rose petal from the heat as well.As far as comments go I to was payed two very nice copliments as well both coming from your gracious queen. The first one she payed me was through Lord Effingham (Bill) and Mad Maggie (Melinda) when she told them that I was alot of fun to work with. However the second was directly to me when she said that handsome young nobles like myself are hard to find these days. I have never been paid compliments like that before and I can not even begin to tell you all how good that made me feel.To echo what I said before you guys not only made my weekend but also my entire faire season as well.

So....the first cast party photos are gathered on my myspace page. I'm still trying to wrangle in a few others that I'm pretty sure are floating around out there.

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=3846707&albumId=2327539 (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=3846707&albumId=2327539)

The page is private so if you need to add me, please feel free. :) I don't normally say no to new friends. If you don't have myspace, let me know and I'll see where else I can put them for ya.

Thanks to everyone who came out to play with us. It was neat to see all of you there at faire. *grin*

Please check the RenDevous '08 Attendees List thread, I want to count you if you were there and you wish to be counted!  There are several folk in here that I didn't officially meet, I'm so sorry for that!  Make sure to either post in the RenDevous thread or renmail me so that I know you want to be included in the final accounting of attendees.
