Some of us are making inquiries into the possibility of having a memorial tree for Cap'n Julie put in on the fair grounds by opening day.
We placed another one last year for another young Rennie who passed unexpectedly before fair in 2013.
This was her home faire, and her husband is scheduled to entertain at the children's stage, though he will be doing it alone this year.   The tree could be planted next to, or near by their regular stage if Sleepy Hollow will do it.

This is an excellent idea. The Potter's House will donate towards the cause once it is a go.

I shall be there with the Royal Court as usual for each weekend unless my dad starts to go down hill. So far hes not too bad. It will once again be nice to see everyone.

It will be good to see you. Hopefully the weather will be cooler than it has been, and we won't all roast in our finery.

I hope everything continues to go well for your dad; his quality of life seems to be very good, judging from your FB posts.   It is important that you take some time for yourself too.  ;)

 5 days left!
Looks like a rainy week leading up to the opening weekend-but nice weather for both days; highs around 80.  Can't wait!

  Getting closer-just 2 more days!
David and I will not be there on Saturday- His son needs a ride to work, and we won't even be on the road until the afternoon.  We will stay over in Colfax.
We plan to attend Sunday-weather report is calling for a chance of rain, so we shall see if it's doable for at least a couple of hours.
We can't complain-DMRF has had some pretty good weather for the last few years (if you don't count the heat) and this summer has been far wetter than usual.
We are planning on being there for the second weekend, so we have a good chance of a few good days of weather.

We managed a couple of hours on Sunday, the 31st, before the oppressively humid 87 degree heat drove us out an hour before closing gate.
We couldn't make last weekend (even though the weather was beyond gorgeous) due to a birthday party, but the closing weekend we are planning on attending on Saturday.
The weather will be in the 60's and sunny-perfect for heavy garb.

We were there this past weekend and the weather was almost perfect.  Saw a histrorical show from Clan Gunn - very good.

A few more shops too!  Also like the new pub location

We were there on Saturday for about 4 hours; disguised as visitors from the future.

We were about 2/3 pf the way to Des Moines when I realized that in the furor to get my gown repaired, accessories gathered and birthday presents stowed-I did not pack the required under armor for the gown.
No farthingale, pair of bodies or bumroll=No gown wearing.  Boo.  The weather was perfect for it too.  Oh well.

The crowds were pretty good for the last weekend, and we got in a lot more shows than we normally do.
