Are you posting from Rome?
Nay. Just thought I would revert to the notation actually in use in England when King Henry and Queen Anne were on the throne.
Sheesh! I wasn't wanting to discuss their bathroom habits! ;D Nimue and I have been talking about wanting to return to your shire. Not this year, but hopefully soon!

Just XII days left until opening in Larkspur! There's GOTTA be a song in there! "The 12 Days to Larkspur"?
On the first day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
A goblet filled up with mead.
Why, Butch! That was....how is it they say it in Larkspurshire?? That was just AWFUL! :o ;D

Ah, grammercy, grammercy! I worked on that masterpiece for almost TWO WHOLE MINUTES!
You two should have your own stage show!

Methinks Butch is having a Mirage à Trois...
As long as I get the sexy pirates on the third day. ... I see nothing. .. ;)
On the third day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
Three pirates,
Two wench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead.
*Sorry, I couldn't make them sexy!
See how you are? No worries, any of the ones at Larkspurshire are almost guaranteed to be sexy anyway!
well except for this pirate.
Well i will be visiting the grounds this sunday for a cat meeting
Not true. ...
He's not visiting the grounds?
Ack! I just misunderstood the post! Ignore my comment! ::)
Dis I 'ear sumwun zay scurvy pirate?
Arrrr you serious?
That should be
Three sexy pirates,
Two serving wenches
And a goblet filled with mead.
As the original would be
Three French Hens,
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
Now if you want day 4.
Four Singing Madrigals
Just a suggestion from a former courtesan who just so happens to have wrote a few songs of love as well as poetry to make men desire me even more :-) But alas, now I am a pirate, it suits me better, though I cannot say I am very sexy
For those interested, Wendy's had the BOGO's for opening weekend out when I went Tuesday.
On the fourth day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
Four madrigals,
Three pirates,
Two weh_hench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead.
LdL, I'm going for the syllable count.
I've got a good day 5 in mind!
Wanna start getting personal in day 6 and beyond.
I can't wait... ::) ;D
This adds a new meaning to the term - "poetic justice" ;)
Speaking of justice, Gauwyn, do you think capital punishment would be overly harsh in this instance?
On the fifth day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
FIVE GATE PASSES!
Four madrigals,
Three pirates,
Two weh_hench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead.
I WEEK

On the sixth day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:

Perfect!
It could be 6 stages downhill depending on how you look at it.
We could also be a little deceiving and tell people it's all downhill, instead of us always saying it's all uphill.
It just depends on how you look at it. If your at Puke-N-Snot stag, all the other stages and places are all downhill
Well they're all uphill...
FROM ME! Ha! Now, where's my half empty glass...?
the only downhill I remember is at close when staggering[/s, heading for gate

Ah yes! That is one of the attractions of Larkspur; the ease of retrograde when slightly (or majorly) affected by the heat and altitude, and having found many bull moose!
It's only Up-Hill if your in the 1960's Batman and Robin tv show. Otherwise... it's all really pretty level, at least to us Colorado Natives :-D
......or whenst Bull Moose had found you........... Left Hand...LEFT HAND!
...as long as there isn't twelve wizards whizzing — especially downhill — we should be okay...
On the ninth day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
Nine cats a-purring,
Eight festive weekends,
Seven stages uphill,
Six Howards duke-ing,
FIVE GATE PASSES!
Four madrigals,
Three pirates,
Two weh_hench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead.
On the tenth day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
Ten Mango journals,
Nine cats a-purring,
Eight festive weekends,
Seven stages uphill,
Six Howards duke-ing,
FIVE GATE PASSES!
Four madrigals,
Three pirates,
Two weh_hench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead.
Evan Igor, the (former) woodsman can count the days to first canon on one hand...
Lady Diane and I will arrive at the hour of high-noon...
On the eleventh day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
Eleven cloned Jack Sparrows,
Ten Mango journals,
Nine cats a-purring,
Eight festive weekends,
Seven stages uphill,
Six Howards duke-ing,
FIVE GATE PASSES!
Four madrigals,
Three pirates,
Two weh_hench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead.
On the LAST day to Larkspur, my true love gave to me:
A dozen bells a-chiming,
Eleven cloned Jack Sparrows,
Ten Mango journals,
Nine cats a-purring,
Eight festive weekends,
Seven stages uphill,
Six Howards duke-ing,
FIVE GATE PASSES!
Four madrigals,
Three pirates,
Two weh_hench_es,
And a goblet filled up with mead!
Have fun in the Lanes tomorrow and throughout the season!

Okay...the countdown is over! So, how was opening weekend, Your Grace?
Opening weekend was spectacular! Sunny skies; temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's; low humidity (duh!); large, enthusiastic, receptive crowds both days. The Duchess and I had an absolutely wonderful time bidding "welcome home" to our many playtron friends. We also met a goodly number of first-timers, many of whom had been more or less coerced into coming to the Faire, only to find themselves completely enthralled with it. Their excitement was exhilarating! We had lots of interactions with thoroughly wide-eyed children, which is always the icing on our cake.
My son, Lord Surrey, gave me a father's day present: a small stack of gold coins. Almost immediately thereafter, my beloved granddaughter, Lady Jane Howard, asked me for money, which, of course, I could not refuse. So I gave her the coins. She immediately presented them to Lord Surrey, wishing him a very happy father's day!
By the end of our back-to-back 11-hour days my feet were so sore I could hardly walk to our carriage. Then, I woke up this morning feeling hardly able to bear the wait until next Saturday.
Thanks for asking. Would that you and Nim could have joined us.
We are preparing for a wedding, so things are a bit busy. We hope to make a return trip next season.
My Robert Baratheon outfit on sunday seemed to be a big hit that i will be bringing it out a couple more times during faire. The 29th i might have Cerci and her Brother Jaime with me should make for some interesting picture
This happened.

Simply beautiful! Congratulations Zoe!
Zoe! Congratulations! How wonderful!
Zoë, congratulations! You do good work! Beautiful child!
Good to hear that the opening in Larkspur for the CRF was grand one!! We really enjoyed the visit we made last year on opening Saturday and have talked often about when we will be coming back. We're talking about another trip next summer and CRF will be on the list of events not to miss.
And Zoe, congrats on a beautiful child!! Kinda reminds me of my grandaughter when she was really young. We got an newborn outfit for her, my daughter decorated a wagon, and using mutiple pillows, we managed to prop her up and pulled her around one day at Scarby. Great memories!! :)
Thanks all! The Bean (as we call her) has been having a blast at her two trips to faire so far. Although I think my parents are really the ones having the most fun getting to show off their grandbaby. (Her Papi was the one who found her outfit at their trip to Scarby this year, I should point out.)
