Wondering how everyone is faring with the recent ice storms in the area...I've had a lot of people coming into our store in Nashville who've taken refuge here. Let us know you're OK when you can.
I lost power, water, everything late Monday or Tuesday night, it's all a blur, and got it back last night. At one point Fort Knox had one building with power but they'll be up and running by Monday they say.
Good to hear from you, Sir Ironhead! Hopefully more of our friends will have electricity restored soon and be able to add to the good news!
I got REALLY lucky... the power went out all around me and I managed to keep it. The entire street light structure just two houses away was taken out completely!
What made the power loss even more fun was that I had an emergency appendectomy on 19 Jan and was released from the hospital on the 22nd. Those staples they used were getting cold ;D

Oh dear! Thats terrible! Everything go ok??
After they dug around for a bit they found it and got it out. It had grown up behind the colon so I didn't have the huge stomach ache you normally have. They had to pull all sorts of things out to get to it. Hopefully the staples come out on the 9th.
Ouch! I can just imagine, steel staples + ice storm = bit nippy!

May you recover quickly, Sir Ironhead...I've had several friends who've needed just that operation. All of them almost lost their lives (because it had burst before they knew it), but all made it through to live to tell the tale.
Capn Faye, I'm glad to see you checked in...has anyone heard from Old Tinker and his Belle?
I've been praying for everyone in the region, luckily my son and daughter in law and new grandbaby were not affected by the power outages, but many of my friends and family were/still are. We will continue to keep you in our prayers that everyone has their power and water back.

James got a message from Tink today and they are without power but doing ok. He mentioned they have a wood burning stove so thats good. Some of my clients are from their region and i know it was hit pretty hard but from what he said they are doing ok :)

We have been fine, no power outages thankfully!!! Had some more snow come in today but all is still well. I hope everyone else in the region in Ok too!!!

me Belle and me are do'n just fine, even though this be'n our 10th day without power.
we had our phones back (land lines and cell) several days ago,
but it was an eerie feel'n be'n secluded completely from the outside world. but also, it is an adventure.
our Lady Missy is correct, we have a wood stove, water in the cistern, and plenty of food stuff store'd.
me Belle and me hope for power any-day now-
we call now, and get the same response- "7 to 10 days sir".

The staples came out today, I'm sure some of you heard me holler for a few of them. And they replaced them with a foot of tape and GLUE, which isn't any better because now I stick to my shirt! I think I've been robbed.
So THAT'S what that weird noise was. I thought someone was skinning a cat here in Nashville. ;D ;)
