I know it's early, but I'm determined to return to TNRF. Seems to me we just need to keep invading! So, who's with me?  8)

Now, the most pressing matter concerning next year's gathering: What shall I wear?  :D

I wont be making it to TN in '09, I need to spread my faire wings out more so next years funds will have to be spent elsewhere. I'll miss you all there though and hope to see you at other faires throughout the year!

We had the greatest time at Rendezvous/Menage Ette Trois this year.  My job was nice enough to bend the rules to let me take the day before and day after a holiday off (a no-no).  Whether they will allow it next year will be a determining factor if we can attend.

But we sure want to!

I had to miss this past year; first time since I started faire way back when.
Did anyone know I wasn't there?
*joking; or am I? :P
I know, show up next year, or you shall have me dragged, or horse whipped; which ever comes first.

someone please remind me of everyone I met and caroused with... the days are getting fuzzy

could have something to do with the alcohol
not sure on that...

I wonder if it's too soon to start an invasion list for next May?  :D

Raid nets 50 suspected illegal immigrants
Three restaurants targeted by feds
By MARK BELL • Gannett Tennessee • June 19, 2008

Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided at least three businesses owned by restaurant entrepreneur Stanley Wang on Tuesday, including The New Famous Chinese Restaurant in Nashville, Chef Wang's in Murfreesboro and the Famous Chinese Restaurant in Smyrna.

About 50 suspected illegal immigrants were identified and detained during the sweep, Nashville-based Assistant United States Attorney Lee Deneke said in a statement issued Wednesday. Those detained were citizens of Mexico, the People's Republic of China, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Wang could not be reached for comment at his home.

Milissa Reierson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, her department participated in the effort.

Some suspects picked up Tuesday could face federal court prosecution for any law violations not related to immigration.

The rest will go to immigration court and possibly be deported.

Federal agents, along with the Murfreesboro Police Department, also conducted an investigation at an East Clark Boulevard home in relation to the raids.

The Middle Tennessee sweep comes two months after a federal grand jury indictment aimed at Chinese restaurateurs ac cused of in ducing illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. by providing them jobs, according to a news release on the ICE Web site.

Several employment agency owners from Georgia named in the indictments allegedly conspired with others to transport and provide jobs to immigrants who were illegally in the country from October 2006 through April.

Chef Wang's owner Stanley Wang and his wife, Margarat, moved to the Murfreesboro area approximately 10 years ago from New York City.

LOL not what I meant, Wenchie
If INS had come in, we'd all have been deported
some of us to England, some to Scotland, some to Ireland, some to Spain... some to Italy...

and I'm sure they'd have tried to see if immigration from a different century was also illegal and if we could, indeed, be deported back in time...

Well,  I don't know about you but I was in mundanes and looked as American as apple pie and baseball!

I really think the INS has better things to do than to see if we were in garb or not.  ;)

Don't know about you but sometimes I like to put Wenchie aside, kick off my shoes and be ME.

Amen to that!  Mad Jack may be a somewhat amplified version of me, but it's SO nice after a long day of antics to trade the bucket boots for sneakers and chill out.  And last I checked, INS agents aren't issued brown shirts.

Returning to the topic at hand:  Are we there yet?!

Old Tinker, my friend...Will work on those details once I get back from my little sojourn out of town...Perhaps if those who have attended before would like to put in their suggestions for hotels, that would be helpful.  Ette Central has usually been Motel 6 in Murfreesboro, there are several in that general area that are more expensive, but also have more amenities.  Can those who have stayed at other places please give their opinions?

I should be back sometime after the 23rd or so.

I will be venturing to New Orleans this summer sometime, iffin you up for a little Midsummer Debauchery. Other than that, Miss Blue will be coming out of her cave officially for BARF 2010.

I'm looking over the schedule this year and regret to say I'll have to pass on this one.
It's just not feasible to make TN that weekend.  We will miss all of you...

Ah, closer than prior. only a few short weeks, then it will be the official open'n of the ren fest season 2009' for all in this region.
since we are attend'n the first week of TNRF, rather than the last, it may be a bit cooler than lat year. but fear not, your Papa Tinker and Mama Belle have "Castle" garb,  ;D , that means we can handle anything Mother Nature can hand to us (Oh please, please Mother, make it nice for all concern'd ), since "Castleteer Gather'ns" are always dur'n the months of Nov. thru March. now just wait'n for the ten day countdown, so me's can check how your Sis (CapnFayeCutler) is negotiating with Mother Nature (CapnFaye did so well last year for KYHRF).

dearest WW, me's were wrong. me Belle did not fry the egg, as a matter of fact we end'd up with three of Blue's offspring eggs. and as thy's, they have hatch'd. now that they hear that there long lost sibling will be visit'n QuartETTE, they give us no peace. so they also will be come'n to TNRF to not only see there sibling, but to find there way back to "DADDY". so if there is anyone that will be at QuartETTE, that may be runn'n into Blue this season, may they hitch a ride? do not know what kind of company Blue keeps, but these three young'uns of his are a cross between a dragon/tiger/leopard/MOOSE  ??? Did I miss it or has/was a new Ette Central designated.  I am under the impression that the motel 6 has been nixed as of last year.

Some are staying at the Embassy suites. There is  a link here (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=321.0), I don't remember who is staying where.

How I wish I could see all of you, but alas, I have parental duties at the end of May and June...so...I will once again be at TNRF on memorial day weekend.  Must see Krista's performances...and Brittany (Annia on the boards) is graduating a week or so later.

By the way....I'VE MISSED YOU GUYS!!!!  Wish I had internet at home.  Would be so much easier to keep up.

Also, as I was hoping to go to RENdevous...looks like it is nixed.  My RenStar is engaged and will be married in September or October.

Anyway, rumor of my demise is greatly exaggerated!

You will be SO missed when we are there.   :(

But congratulations on Krista's engagement!
Let's hope it gets you out of the worst time for hurricanes. You more than earned those stripes there, darlin'!

Sir Clisto you'll be able to knock off at least half the list with one visit to the pub!  :D

There was talk of going out Friday night...anything new on that score?

There may or may not be construction on I-40 that weekend.  The weekend before Easter they close a 2mile section  around the 24/40 split for bridge repair. They were suppose to do the other direction this past weekend but it was delayed due to weather.

How does outside the front gate after pub sing on Saturday and Sunday work for everyone?

That way we aren't hustled out and we won't be in other patron's way.
Or are there any other suggestions?

That worked out really well last year...We must try to have one with Syrilla in it, if we possibly can, though and that means one time inside the gate.
