Title: Courtly Matters
Post by: Amras Elfwine on May 10, 2008, 12:41:53 AM
Subject to the approval of Her Most Royal and Magical Highness, Bonnie, I do sincerely tender this deliniation of her court as it stands today. Further, I humbly beseech all members of this fine forum to forgive anything I've overlooked, and to please list in this forum any necessary corrections, which I will then transfer to this record.

On the 6th of December, 2004, Bonnie reluctantly accepted, upon the nomination of this forum, the title and position of Queen of Everything. Her platform was simple - free ren faires for life for all, and plenty of single malt to go along with it. It was suggested that the oath written in support of the "Between Faire Time" subject matter of the thread be used as the court oath. That oath follows:

Everyday, I shall live in the spirit of ren.
Everyday, I shall take my job seriously, but not myself while I do it.
Everyday, I shall relax.
Everyday, I shall love those who love me.
Everyday, I shall find some pleasure in life.

The Royal Court now stands as follows (presented in the chronological order of the appointment):

As you can see, DB was able to save quite a bit...quite a few names are missing, or, out on Crusade, as I think of them...so, as before, if you would like to become a member of the Court of Glenlivet, or, if you were a member and are not currently listed, please petition the Queen with your request, and we shall update the Court Lists asap...

QB, may I suggest The Royal Order of Landsharks.  We're privateers who've looked at 40, are happiest at sea and dangerous on land, whose official music keeper is Jimmy of Buffett.  If agreed, I humbly suggest this messenger be appointed Landshark No. 1.  Have a great weekend - see your evil twin next Saturday?

Most Gracious Queen Bonnie,

It appears that you have a plethora of privateers sailing under Your Letters of Marque, so, I need not fill that role (my position at TRF as vendor employee),  there are masters and mistress of the blades and weapons of all sorts so I need not fill that role (my position at other faires as booth owner).  I am a Dragon who wishes to serve this court in a manner befitting of his kind. You and Your court respect my kind and you honor us in many ways.  I merely seek to return the favor to You dear Queen Bonnie by offering my services as the Your Official Liasion to the Dragon Kingdom, this will allow for me to ensure that all others of my kin and kith shall afford you the proper respect as you so richly deserve.

Thank the for thy time,
Lord Vandor

Vostro Majesty,

I have after much thought concluded that my talents as an Italian would best suit to serve as the Royal Wine Tester (and that includes all forms of the "w(h)ine."  Does vostro majesty approve, or shall ye have me return toward the writing slate once more?

We do have a wine taster here or had- but I am a wine afficionado- so another will be good! I do enjoy my wine! As far a Whine Tester? LOL! We are not fond of whining- but if someone must do it- it had better be good and tested on you first! LOL!!
We approve of your new royal position as Royal Whine/wine tester , Viscount. Now tell me, What do you think of this Montepulciano?  Interesting? Fruity but still nice and dry.

Queen Bonnie, I am more familiar with the German wines so help with the Italian would be nice. More regions better choices.

Welcome to the cellar Visconte Vincente :)

*curtsy and offer you a glass of wine so you can whine.

Gracie Majesty, e gracie fluffy tail!  I hope I can be of some assistance in the ways of both whine and wine.  I must say that this past it was discovered that a Mummer was my long lost sister.  For those of you who know mummers (at least in the Realm of Tampa) they are quite a bit to contend with and I have had much practice in testing their ways of the whine.

To your Majesty, I thank you for hospitality and contend that the wine given is most excellent as the little fruitful flavor is refreshing.  I suggest that you both try this Chianti direct from the cellars of Tuscany.  I think you find it to your liking.

Greetings, Queen Bonnie.

I have been to visit the Acorn Wood and have noted that Amras Elfwine is Lord of the Squirrels.  There are others in the wood who may need a guardian and spokesperson, and therefore, I would like to most humbly request a title.  If it please your Majesty, I would be honored to fill the position of  Royal Protector of Chipmunks (and other four-footed furries).

At your service,

Dearest Queen Bonnie,

Tis been two or more years since I asked to be named Bearer of the Bodice Rum.  However, I have found a new and delightful career and would therefore humbly request that I may be "Maker of Pastries and Cakes."  If this pleases her Highness, I would be greatly honoured.

Your Most Excellent Majesty,

I see you have a Keeper of the Royal Jewels. Tis good to have - you must have someone watching over them to ensure they do not go missing and to keep them bright and polished for your Majesty's use at a moments notice! Tis good indeed.

However, I am perplexed that I do not see a Royal Jewel Inspector! Tis a most necessary thing my Queen! You certainly do not want sub-standard jewels to slip into your collection! That would be a travesty! A Queen - and especially the Queen of Everything - should have only the highest quality jewels touch her most excellent person.

While I am the Queen of Denmark, I DO fall under "everything" and hence am one of your loyal subjects. Since I AM a queen however, I am quite the expert on jewels (I have quite a few myself your Majesty) and can weed out the unacceptable and low quality with ease. Those who know me personally, such as Amras and Count Adolfo, can attest to this fact as they have seen much of my personal collection........personally.  :)

I humbly offer the service of my jewel expertise to your Majesty to assist you in the accumulation of your collection of fine jewels, and am requesting entry into your court as Inspector of the Royal Jewels.

I patiently await your Majesty's decision. *deep curtsey*

Grammercy for your suggestion Lady de La Warr! We are most pleased to grant you the position of Royal Jewel Inspector!
This will be quite helpful to me. I have a vast collection of Jewels- but alas, my evil pirate twin sister usually Steal- er- borrows a few each time she comes to visit. I need to know I am getting the same ones back when she returns them!  Huzzah!
Title: Re: Courtly Matters
Post by: PurpleDragon on June 16, 2008, 09:22:14 AM
Knowing that evil sister like I do, her being a pirate and all, this is a most excellent idea.  One needs to be able to tell what is the real jewel and that which is paste.  I would hate to think that your most precious jewels have been replaced with nought more than colored glass baubles.

Post by: Count Adolfo on June 16, 2008, 11:24:55 AM
Aye, Majesty
I have seen the magnificence of the Lady's jewels... and can attest to the grand expertise she demonstrates in the topic.
It is also widely known that Peeps are envious of her expertise and wish they knew how to tell fine jewels from candy gumdrops.
Such an ally is surely yet another blow against our enemy!

Your Most High and Excellent Majesty,

I am most honored with your confidence in my skill and will most loyally and expertly serve you. I will make certain that your evil twin sister returns the genuine goods she ........ahhhh......errrr.........borrows, and will ensure your jewel coffers are perfect and high quality to a fault!

As for those evil peeps - they have not a chance if they choose to come against ME regarding jewel expertise!! I shall easily keep them at bay! And grammercy Count Adolfo for your vote of confidence. As you have seen my jewels first hand you do definitely know I speak the truth!

Now, with her Majesty's leave, I must begin to execute my newly bestowed duties, as I need to inspect what is present in the coffers and take inventory of the sizes, types and qualities of the jewels therein. If the lovely FortuneRose would kindly show me the way to the jewel coffers I shall be off to work!!

Grammercy Your Majesty *deep curtsey*

My Lady Majesty,

As one of the Wandering folk, it is not generally in my nature to bend the knee. However, as Lady de la Warr so astutely pointed out, I, too, fall under the category of "Everything". Tho' I am quite new to your Realm, I would count myself most Honored to be included amongst such esteemed company. So, humbly I petition the court for an Official Royal Appointment (or two).

I have many skills which I would offer the Crown.

I have traveled through many lands on my lifelong journey, and have visited many Courts, learning much of Foreign Protocol. Perhaps I could offer my services as Royal Ambassador At Large.

I have some small skill as Drabarni, or fortune teller and herbalist. Might I request Royal Skryer? Perhaps Royal Keeper of the Herbs?

I have been known to pen the odd poem, story or ballad, frequently using as many words as possible. Perhaps I could occupy the position of Royal Minister in Charge of Ensuring the Maximum Usage of Verbosity (Minister of Wordiness, for short)?  ;D

One other skill would I share with the Court, if it please. I am a Master Kilt Collector, although of late I collect only with the aid of a Magic Box (so say I, and none to say me nay  ;)). I would be honored to occupy the post of Royal Kilt Collector and Chronicler. After all, only the finest of kilts, collected from the "finest" of kilt... displays, will do for the Royal Collection!

Someday, Majesty, I would also aspire to Debaucherette, but I feel that needs testing in the flesh, so perhaps when 'ere we meet in person I might apply myself to attain that position. At the present I will sharpen my skills in anticipation of that Happy Day!

I most humbly submit my petition, and await with baited breath your Gracious reply.

Most Sincerely,
Rani Zemirah

You do have a lot of talents, Rani Zamirah! We have no Royal Kilt collectors in our court although we have many inspectors and kilted laddies!
I am very pleaded to make you our Royal Collector of Kilts! Huzzah! We shall start with that- tis a big job!
We shall await with anticipation the viewing of the finest of your collection!

Post by: Rani Zemirah on September 14, 2008, 01:02:53 PM
HUZZAH!!! I will strive to bring honor to this most glorious of appointments, my Lady, and commit myself most thoroughly to it's accomplishment!

There will be some delay in viewing, unfortunately, since I have recently been attacked by a Most Vile Wizard who has stolen the magic from my previous large magic box, making it difficult for me to retrieve portraits of the collection and so far impossible for my small magic box to communicate with my new large magic box! I will puzzle it out, however, and discharge my duties in good order. You may count on me, Madame! After all, what Lady of the realm can say she has a more... rewarding... err... position?  LOL

Yours,
Rani Zemirah

Most honored Queen Bonnie, I do humbly present myself at your service. I am Dustin, AKA Oliver of Crippengate. I am already a privateer sailing under your Letter of Marque as a Guppy of the Royal Order of Landsharks. I would also like to respectfully request a court appointment. I don't know what position to suggest, but I will tell you of my skills and talents. I am an actor, as well as a theatre technician. In the past, I have worked on professional theatrical productions as a properties master, in which position I used my skills at finding things at thrift stores, as well as building certain props. I also use these skills in my faire-going, having found tankards for my entire family at Goodwill for $2.74, and making my walking stick, mug strap, and belt. I am also a photographer, and an avid reader. I have read your beloved Harry Potter series at least four times, as well as the complete Sherlock Holmes collection.  Finally, I am a connoisseur of fine ales, lagers, stouts and porters, as well as of fine rums and whiskeys.

I do humbly beseech you to appoint me to the position of your choice. (I will also be making an offering in the coming days to join the FOKTOP. More to come on that front...)

Majesty, please forgive my absence of late. I have been searching out new kilts for your collection! I have so far found one definite candidate, and perhaps another, but I will need to make my way to TRF in order to ascertain that the quality and cut are up to your standards. I am endeavoring to find a way, but it may take some effort!

I have so far been unable to retrieve the previous collection, but have discovered that there is a spell cast on the archive. There is, however, a counter-spell that may be concocted, if I am able to discover a source for all of the ingredients (at some cost, of course).

I will keep you informed of my progress, my Queen.

Looking at Plantersville on weather.com the 10 day forecast says Scattered T-Storms from Monday the 6th till Saturday the 11th and it will be in the low 80s. It is too early for them to pull up the Sunday Forecast and well, lets hope that it is too early for them to predict T-Storms all next week too.

I hope they clear up before Friday and give the grounds a little time to dry out. With the dry weather we have been having none of the soil will be able to absorb the water for it is so dry, most will be run off. I don't like walking fair when it is all squishy mud. :(

Queen Bonnie, I know we have been asking a lot from you lately, but would you be able to cast a spell in hopes of pushing the storm away from the first weekend of Fair?!

The weather did a surprise visit on our electricity last night, so I'm hoping for no power loss tonight.
Sorry about that...the updates are acomin', though.

I think the weather Gods-n-Goddesses are gettin' it out of their system before the weekend!

Cheers!

We could use rain THIS weekend! TRF does not start until the 11th.

Well wishes to the clan of Sir Dragon. I've never met him, but I feel for the clan nonetheless.

Queen Bonnie, might I be worthy of a title of High Dragonslayer? I do keep a trophy dragon tooth upon the ear, you know. Earl of Debauchery, Kilted protector of the Queen, and General of Finding and Causing Trouble would also fit, methinks!

Your Grace,
MacLaren

So sorry to hear of another passing! My heart goes out to his family.
Dan we are pleased to make you our Royal Kilted Protector and High Earl of Debauchery. I love dragons though and have 3 nice ones Fieris, Scorthc and Smudge. Every now and then a dragon goes bad- then you may slay them.  Protection of endangered dragons is needed!

Indeed, I only slay the ones that eat the sheep. I've got nine myself looking after my realm, so I know about loving them, too. Three of mine like to slay those pesky peeps! What a great family I've got! Protector of the endangered would be a good assignment.

Your neighbor should be drawn and quartered, spat upon, burned, and then shot just for good measure. Stomping the ashes should be considered as well. That's just WRONG!!

I can't stand it when people do such things. I've seen similar in my neighborhood already myself, so I know the pain.

Artificial pumpkins are still glowing on the balcony every night, as well as the lovely branch garland on the railing.  The real pumpkin finally met his end yesterday.  Our animatronic mummy and witch are still up in the apartment.  We'll leave our decorations up for a while longer.  Yuletide trappings before Thanksgiving are just wrong!

I would love to dance with you, my Queen! I was just stopping by to ask pardon for not being able to attend court of late. I have been rather occupied with matters here, and in magical realms, as well. Unfortunately, there have been no kilts to be collected lately, so sadly I have nothing to show for my efforts. Forgive me, Madame. I hope I may still join you in your dance, however?

I am so glad you are feeling better, and will be attending Faire this weekend! I know you were missed last week by many, even though I was not there myself. I'll send my own weather words your way for a bit of warmth in the air, shall I?

Lord Amras, I would be most happy to collect your kilt for Her majesty, were I to be there this weekend! Unfortunately, I have yet to deputize anyone to do collecting in my stead for your area... I must first attend, then find one or two worthy lasses with sturdy magic boxes who can be apprenticed and trained up in the art of Kilt Collection, before I could entrust such delicate matters to anyone! I do seem to have quite a waiting list for collection at TRF, though, and must needs make my way there at my earliest opportunity!!! Her Majesty's collection should certainly surpass any other in the Realm...

Hmmmm... loincloth collection... I envision a new division of collecting! Thank you, Trillium, for the food for thought!!!

Your humble Theatre Master reporting, Majesty.

I am preparing to be the master of gate duties at a gala that is meant to bring treasure to a troupe that performs the Bard's works, and will soon be acting in an Ancient Greek tragedy, The Trojan Women. I am also in the early stages of preparing a magnificent event that combines theatre and history.

Here is hoping all is well at Your Majesty's Keep, and I will keep the theatrical fires burning.

Long live Queen Bonnie!

My Lady Majesty, I am pleased to report that I have found a wonderful specimen for the Royal Kilt Collection! I must arrange with the owner of the image to let it be displayed in an official Collection viewing format, but it is a unique and dramatic piece to showcase an entire collection, and could be an award winning shot, in the right contest... I'll send you a link to it as soon as I get permission!

Anon, my Queen,

Rani Zemirah

*enters the great hall and curtsies deeply before addressing the queen*  Your most wonderful Majesty,
I have a request.  I have and always will be your Court Harem Mistress but I would like to apply for an additional title.  I have of late become a "torch" singer in my corner of the realm.  I bring songs of deep emotion and little hearted flirt to the people there and would like share them with your queendom.  I should like to have a title that fits this new service I am now willing to offer.  Would your majesty grant me that title?  I would be most honored. *bows head and waits for repsonse*

We are most pleased to add Royal Torch Singer to your Title, Divapixie! Huzzah! What will you sing for us first? The court musicians had better tune up!

Queen Bonnie, I would like to petition that Lady Renee Buchanan be added to the Royal Order of the Sandwenches.

She has demonstrated the knowledge of what goes in a frozen mudslide and how to keep sand off her lip gloss and out of her swimsuit bottoms.
She knows her SPF 4 from an SPF 80 without doing the subtraction and she can tell a sunblock from a sunscreen with her eyes closed.

She also knows what '25 minutes' means in Sandwench talk.

Thank you, beloved Queen!

OH  a garden.  what a  wonderful idea  !

All this talk of  roses  makes  me  miss  my  rose garden i had  in California. I had  quite  the  variety of  roses.     we get  too cold of winters  were i  am now  for  roses  to  grow  outside.     I do have  quite  the  assortment of  different flower gardens  though  and  can't wait  for  spring to come , so everything can  start blooming !

Could  we add  some   peonies  and  lilacs   for  their  wonderful   fragrance . And  some  Freesia.  I  love  Freesia !

Beware, too, Lady Ashlyn
Do plant magickal seeds about the perimeter of your garden and grow lilacs.  Their lovely fragrance is rumoured to repel those nasty Peeps and surely once the Peeps are aware of your appointment, they will seek to prevent ye from accomplishing such a beauteous testimony to Her Royal Majesty's reign.

Peeps are also well known to seek to seduce the bonniest of lasses and bend them to their wills... so be thou on thy toes!
;D

*curtsies* Thank thee Count for thou gracious warning. I have heard much talk of those pesky Peeps in the area. I will be sure to have my guards on the lookout. As for the garden... I have gnomes and fae to watch over all of our magickal plants! I will be sure to heed your advice and add anything that will ward them off. We can't have Peeps in the plumeria!

Tachi is improving and eating well and his purr is working! He is a happier familiar! I told him I would not be putting him in "jail" this weekend- Boarding- and that cheered him up a lot! I think he will pull through this time!
Sorry you can't make it to scarby- but there is always TRF. Easier for me to get there!
Hugs Amras! You are always welcome in TX!

Your Majesty

Master Hawkworthy has made known to me his desire to have this appointment and after speaking with him at length, I do beseech thee to make this appointment.  I am by no means in his league as far as the birds are concerned, but I do have a nodding acquiantence with the sport, and in speaking with him I deem that he is most knowledgable in his craft and will make a most deserving addition to the royal court.

*tap tap tap* on a glass window reveals a white owl with a rolled parchment that bears this note:

     My lovely Queen,
Your lands in the Southeast are quiet this day. Spring is among us, and Summer is closing in quickly. Most are readying for the Summer Solstice.
My charge of protecting the Raccoons is getting tricky, as they like to investigate the rubber circles traveling on the pavements.  :'(         My special girl, Dixie, however just celebrated her first year of existence!  ;D

I hope this finds you in good health.

Your servant,

*peeks in exhausted* My Queen! It has proved to be much difficult keeping the Royal Garden is good health through this undying heat. I have thus far managed to keep most of our magickal plants alive. I may need to hire a few extra garden gnomes to assist. If you know of any, send them my way! I will make sure there our flowers a plenty for the Summer Solstice. Now I shall be off to find an ancient oak to rest under for a moment and maybe a nice mug of sun tea!

We have a quite a contingent of garden gnomes at our cottage.  I'm sure we can spare a few.  They have watering cans, shovels, trowels - and even some magic mushrooms!  There's just one you may have to beware of.  He likes to take naps against a stump instead of tending the garden.

Grammercy for the offer of rain Lady Mikayla and Tammy! We could sure use it!
All is getting very crispy here! Alas! Another week of over 100 degree temps predicted!
I am putting the garden gnomes to Work! They mostly seem as happy to work as the house elves- but not giving any of them extra clothes- just in case! Send your spare gnomes here Var! I have lots of room for Gnomes to roam and can give them a good home!LOL!

The gnomes are from Target.  We've been collecting them for several years now.  Each year, they have four styles, and usually they're all new designs.  They also have tiny ones to go in plant pots.  I'm waiting for them to get to gnomies - we need some female gnomes too!

I wonder where they learned "Gnome on the Range".  We've only played faire music for them.

Yes House elves are in order... planters with a few weeds will at least keep you gnomes grounded. I need to find some more Gnomes for my gardens.... I have fairies, frogs, rabbits, and a few gnomes but not nearly enough for a garden of this size. Perhaps I can get some to follow me home soon!   OH and picnic by the pool does sound fun!

The gnomes are not over fond of the TX heat.  They're heading back to cooler climes until next spring, when some more of their cousins should come out to see us.  Ours have decided they prefer the air-conditioning and are staying inside.  They do not like too much sunshine either - they WILL fade, and badly, if left in direct sun.

our most beloved, generous, gracious Queen Bonnie,
may your Old Tinker speak on dogs and cast iron.
me Belle and me had a mutt, that was part chow and part lab (most chow, as he look'd). we had a gas grill once(cast iron), and this is the story.
me daughter, maggie and her man were grill'n steaks upon said grill, (now me Belle and me never before this incident had cook'd meat on the grill, we always just used it for veggies). so after cook'n there steaks, they come indoors to eat and let the grill cool prior to cleaning it. well our dog,( he was about 75 pound'r, with not a bit of fat on him. his name was Martin Bear), Martin decided that he liked the smell of the grill/steaks. when me maggie came to get me, Martin had chew'd the side out of the grill and was work'n and the rack. he had actually eaten the side of it. only bits and pieces left on the ground. he had a couple of rough days after, but everything came out okay.  ;) Martin was alright and me's got a new grill.  ;D

thank you for the audience, Queen of everything,
your Old Tinker, always, is right here when you need,
i be the Old Tinker and his Belle...

Well thank you!!! I would be proud to call myself a Sandwench!!  :-* I do so adore the smell of coconut oil in the morning!

Now cabana boy(s) fetch me a beer! and make it a Red Stripe Mon!!  ;D

A great addition to the Sandwenches!!!

My Queen, I am so sorry for my absence in your court.  It has been a very long time.  The recovery efforts of your southernmost pirate port move very slowly.  I have been up to my hip high pirate boots in restore efforts!

As an amendment and update to my last announcement, I will no longer be appearing as the Lord Mayor in Richard III. Instead, I will be appearing as Earl Rivers and the Duke of Norfolk, due to casting changes because of illness and other issues with other actors. So, your Royal Theatre Master now has two roles instead of one, and one (Rivers) is a bigger role than my original role as Lord Mayor. More responisiblity for me, but I think I can handle it. As I promised before, images are sure to follow.

Do we need drama here? I know we can put on a PLAY!!!
Teens doing drama!  I will see if William is busy.   I am seeing star crossed lovers- but there needs to be a dragon too!  And a troll and ... I am thinking on it a bit.
LOL.
Order to chaos is what I do best! LOL.

Your Majesty, I agree. NO drama. A Comedy of Errors perhaps?  A Midsummer's Ren Dream, filled with faires, and magic and lovers and moonlight and a bit of comedic madness? I think that suits us here beautifully. :)

Sua Maestà è più saggio!

Perchance a song will entertain the court. Tis one of my favorites, which in sooth, I may share a vocal rendition of in any shire to which I am privileged to visit and asked to do so.

"Non lo diro col Labbro"

"Non lo diro col Labbro
Che tanto ardir non ha;
Forse con le faville
Dell'avide pupille,
Per dir come tutt'ardo,
Lo sguardo Parlera."

Translation:

"I will not say it with my lips
which have not that courage;
Perhaps the sparks of my burning eyes,
Revealing my passion,
My glance will speak."

Perhaps it is time to once again breathe life into these sleepy halls.  Awaken those who have quietly slumbered, and bring in a new generation to mentor and carry her Majesty's Queendom into the future.

It appears her most Majestic and Royal Queen Bonnie, has lost much of her court.  Those of us who still stand for her and the late Lord A, Need to stand up and be counted.  Let's bring this court and Kingdom to life once more.  I was strolling through the kingdom of Fairehaven last fall, and a Pirate noticed the symbol of our kingdom on my doublet.  He commented on how that's a rare sight these days.  Almost like our Kingdom is an ancient civilization, of which has long since fallen.  I say it shall never be lost or fallen, so long as we keep it alive.
