Title: Crowds?

So, a question for you traveling performers... What are the differences in crowds, from state to state? You know, how do the audiences change?

To give you a very Zen-like answer, They're all pretty much the same and every crowd is different.

They probably vary more from morning to afternoon than they do form one part of the country to the other.  I would attribute that to alcohol consumption. As the day wears on, so do they.  An inebriated audience is more fun to play with if you keep an eye out for the trouble makers and know how to handle them.

I have performed from California to New York but only done the ren act in PA and OH but I think the audiences in a faire atmosphere are all the same.   They all do seem to care more about the entertainment factor than musical proficiency.

Your mileage may vary.
