Romanceteers Ball RenDezvous 2nd + 3rd July, 2011 @ CRF
What is Romanceteers Ball?
Romanceteers Ball is not a dance.
It's getting to know your RF members that will be attending the 2011 RenDezvous.
It is between men and women, 21 and older.
You will have two days at faire – Saturday and Sunday, to achieve the gift of giving a small bauble, gift, giving, memory, playful forward.
It's like a gift exchange with a twist. Instead of an exchange, it will consist of a random drawing of names from a hat. One by female, the other by male. Those playing will get a name of a person, to give a gift to. Then your name will be drawn for another person to give YOU a gift. You probably will not get the person that you will be giving a gift to. (But it could happen that way). (It's sort of a paying it forward exchange) You will know the person you are giving a gift to. BUT you will not know who is giving YOU a gift.
The other twist will be, that you should employ another person to do the Giving for you. (This is called a HIT) Thus you are employing a Hit Person to do your bidding.
The gift you get should be something about your preferences in a list of favorites.
Likewise the gift you give should be derived from the information you receive about the person you get drawn for you.
It can be romantic, funny, serious, fun, silly, but please, be respectful.
It is not intended to be a match making endeavor. However, if it becomes that, then the best of luck to those it captures.
We will have a list that you will fill out if you are playing the game.
Can you play if you are married, or have a significant other? ..... Yes, remember it is all in fun and getting to know your fellow RF'ers and using your imagination.
Example: CaptSpleen gets Blushing as the person he has drawn to give a gift to. He asks (employs) Demetrius as his Hit Person to give her Purple flowers (in her preference list she lists purple flowers as her favorite) in some grand or memorable manner. Blushing gets Hey-Aren't-You as the person to give a gift to. She employs Lavender as her hit person to give him an elephant favor (he says elephants are his favorite animal in his preferences). Lavender presents him with the favor in some lavish manner. Etc.......
In the end, at the end of Sunday, you can then reveal to the person that you were the person that orchestrated the HIT upon your drawn person.
The price of the gift shall be between 5 and 10 dollars.

Only the person that draws you will see your Preferences forwarded by us. (so, only I will see them, and this list will not be used to gather any info about you or used for other websites or any other purpose than the game). This is meant to be fun.

TimeLine/Due Date: All those who want to play should have their completed list sent to me by Saturday, June 4th, so that we can do the draw, and get the info to all players, giving them ample time to conceive a gift giving plan prior to attending RenDezvous 4 weeks later.

C'mon folks... it's not a match making endeavor. It's like a suped up Secret Santa game at work. Think of it as a sort of a scavenger hunt for friends. :D

@ Lady de Laney: You can play even if you are there one day. I'll be certain to make sure those get a match with others that will be attending on corresponding days.
@ Gauwyn of Bracknell: You will get notice of your Romancetee within one week after the deadline, for all Favorite lists to be received
which will be by the following weekend of June 11th 2011.

@ Addilay: If it suits you to give two gifts that would be OK too. Just trying to make it as easy a possible by doing one,
but if you want to be extra creative, I suggest, you may want to think of two different "Hit" persons to deliver each gift. Which would really make your romancetee quarry, think twice....... pun intended!

I am just awaiting one confirmation: It is one person (That is on CoRF Cast) that will "even the genders out" and we'll start the fun.
The only person that will know who it is, will be the Giver of their gift, yet the person that gets a gift from them, will not. So kind of another surprise mystery guest, but they are local.

I'm so sorry to have to withdraw at the last moment, but better before you have sent out Quaries than after, I guess... :(

OK, I have sent "Dance Partner" matches to all playing the Romanceteers Ball.
A couple of you have been matched up with Special Mystery Guests. Please keep them a secret to yourselves so as not to spoil the surprise for others attending RenDezvous 2011.
If you did not receive your private ren mail with your match, please inform me ASAP.
This gives everyone just under 2 weeks to devise your "hits" (gift giving) to your matches.
(to decide what gift/s to get and how to utilize others in giving those gifts for you)
Then you will have two days July 2 + 3 to do your hits, unless anyone is only attending just one day, let me know ASAP so I can let your "Gifters" know this information.

I was reminded recently that all those playing here, can indeed do more than one "hit", using more than one person, such as for example:
One could be the delivery of a flower, the main $10 gift, or broken into a couple gifts $5 apiece, in addition others could be a non $ item such as the delivery of a poem, or letter, etc.
So you could do as many "hits" as you desire, which will really keep your quarry off balance and wondering...... in a good way.
I've purchased, planned, and plotted...I'm ready to go! This is going to be fun! To my partner...I hope you enjoy!

I was looking for an extra male player and got the Lord High Sheriff to play, which at the time made 7 and 7 players of each gender.
When Rani Zemirah could not attend, I backed out. But I did take great pleasure in assiting as a hit person for a few of you, and applying my own brand of delivery with a few twists and additions...... To see your eyes light up and even a squee and a squeel sneek out was shear delight for me.

Another faire time, another faire place......
My partner was Toki, and my hitter (doesn't sound quite right) was our very own Spleen. Who took great delight in presenting a very cold bodice chiller to me while my eyes were closed! A shock to say the least, but very much enjoyed later that day!
This was much fun ... although planning out my "hits" on Kariuss made me realize just how large our faire is!

Ditto on how large the faire is! Had a bugger of a time trying to find Lord Gauwyn of Bracknell for his hits!
LOVED my gifts from Kariuss - bracelets, green tinted roses, chocolate covered strawberries, and a MASSAGE!
I rather enjoyed my "Quest" hits that Sir Garth did for me. While they did get out of sorts, sometimes X does not mark the spot. Spleen I guess had a hard time finding me as I was told many times he was looking for me to make the 1st hit. One I got that hit finding the soda wench who went by the mark of Z was damn near impossible. She was not in the local we typically knew her to be or the other we had seen her.
We managed to stumble upon here as we were headed for tea and the hit she made led us to John Lennon serving Chicken and rice... which has become a favorite dish since I have decided to diet. John err Demitrius is always so wonderful to see which a bright smile. he does in fact look like John Lennon.
Once I was hit by one of the beetles, I found the local of my last hit. Sadly earlier in the day I had stumbled upon it while getting a yellow rose for a hit I had another make for me. The last rose hit led me to belle and many pretty flowers and spices to which to "spice" up Toki and my life. We love Mexican food and the spices will be used to enhance one of our favorite dishes.
