I made this list from memory, Old Tinker's calendar of Friends, and assuming some of the regulars will be there. Who else can we add the party?
Pre-Gate gatherin' & mimosas in the parking lot, just look for the large group at someone's tailgate.
Are we going to try for a group photo sometime in the day?
Yes, yes, I will be there--with Rhiannon & Black Matt, as well. Is it time yet???
Soon enough.... :)
I will be there to check things out before I come back as a The Irish Troubadour. Accompanying me will be Siobhan O'Dricsoll (Countess Westmorland in another shire). It will be our first visit and we are anxiously looking forward to the experience and meeting the residents of Avaloch.
Hello Everyone.
Looks like it is going to be an amazing invasion...
Can't Wait to see everyone. Will Avaloch ever be the same???
Hootie Hoooo ... we made the list! Awesome!

They look a lot like the residents of Morelandshire, but they drink more. I'm not saying that's bad.
We will certainly be there, though maybe not opening weekend. Put us down for a hopeful "maybe."
You can throw me on the list ;) I will surely be there! (now if only my lazy ren friends will start joining the forum!)`
And we have two friends from Sterling Faire coming Opening Weekend! A big round of applause and hugs to Nutmeg and her husband Limmerick!
*rubs hands together*
This is going to be so awesome...I'm sure it's illegal somewhere....
;D
Outstanding ... someone else to buy a round!
I sooooo wish I could come, but we'll have a girl on vacation that week. T.T
I may try to come up some other weekend, but don't know if I'll be able to this year with the way gas is going.

Terry, are you going to be preforming at this faire or just visiting? Maybe we can get you to serenade the tailgate if nothing else ;D We can make it worth your while ::)

Scotsman, I'll be performing there the last weekend, August 9 and 10, but we are planning to visit on opening weekend when everybody else will be there. If the PTB don't mind the competition outside the gate, I'd love to add some atmosphere to the tailgait.
You are awesome friend. Since I as well am visiting, I will let the GLMF hosts chime in with their thought ... didn't mean to put you on the spot but my wife loves your voice and would not mind an impromptu serenade ;D
You sound a heck of a lot better than I ... think of skinning a sheep and that about sums it up :o
Hey Scotsman, you bellowed a very nice "TO YOUR HEALTH" at the pub. (about 150x at my count)
Hey Terry Do you know this one?
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To eyes that are bright as stars when they're shining on me!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To lips that are red and sweet as the fruit on the tree!
Here's a hope that those bright eyes will shine
Lovingly, longingly soon into mine!
May those lips that are red and sweet,
Tonight with joy my own lips meet!
Drink! Drink!
Let the toast start!
May young hearts never part!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
Let every true lover salute his sweetheart!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To arms that are white and warm as a rose in the sun!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To hearts that will love one, only when I am the one!
Here's a hope that those soft arms will twine
Tenderly, trustingly soon around mine!
All I ask is the right to see those smiling eyes beguiling me
Drink! Drink!
Let the toast start!
May young hearts never part!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
Let every true lover salute his sweetheart!
Let's drink!
Drink! Drink! Drink!

(FRom the Student Prince)
Hmmm, I don't know that whole song but the "Drink, drink, drink" lyrics rings a bell!
Mario Lanza in the Student Prince. What a voice.
Sounds like it just might be our new theme song.
Mario Lanza indeed. My Grandfather used to play this record all the time. For you kids out there, a record is a 12 inch disk made of vinyl that spun on a record player and produced music (seeing blank stare's). A primitive CD? ah to hell with it.
Anyway I love that song...it is the only one that has stayed with me all these years..Hmmm? do think that was an early warning sign for my parents??? anyway.
I am sure we will have many drinking songs to sing...or forget, come opening weekend.
Put us on the list will be there Sat and Sun. Huzzah! Anyone know a good motel/hotel in the area Thanks

Well..........it looks like this opening weekend invasion is shaping up to be one mighty fine gathering!!

OK, I guess I have to be the one to ask. What's the deal with the M'Cracks? I mean other than the obvious humor of the pun. Is there a thread that explains it or is this a secret organiztion?
The Clan M'Crack has a thread in Squires Tavern

Ah ........ Scarlett ......... Avaloch has no jail.
It was removed prior to last season.
Just re-read this one. So Trevor, there was no jail last season? I could have sworn there was.
45 RF'rs??? :o That is amazing. ;D GLMF will be bursting at the seams. Capt. Morgan, We need to make sure TPTB know who we are, and that we have been rallying for this opening weekend for Months.
I can't wait for this. Yet I must wait...it is just not fair!!! :-\
45 eh? Does that mean we have to shal ALL our ale ...

A travel note for anyone driving up 71 or 77 from the south..
You don't have to take either one all the way into Cleveland to get to 90 east. Use 271 north to 90 east. It will cut miles and time off of your trip and you avoid the hassle of going through Cleveland.
There is only one small area of construction on 271.
Quiet One, May I send you my proposed travel route and have you make suggestions if necessary?
Thank-thee,
Lady M
Sure, I'd be happy to. It should be easy since I've been down to CRF and know where you are coming from.

Terry, are you going to be preforming at this faire or just visiting? Maybe we can get you to serenade the tailgate if nothing else ;D We can make it worth your while ::)
Scotsman, I just got an "OK" from Scott. I shall be there with a guitar. Being with my dear friends will make it well worth my while and a sufficient incentive. What hour will the festivities commence in the parking lot?

Ratman and Bobin - the mead at GLMF is the best mead you will ever have. I have been to many faires on the East coast and Midwest and I have never found better mead. In fact I am planning on purchasing a few bottles while I'm there this year to take home to have for special occasions.
And no I'm NOT prejudiced because GLMF was my original home faire - lol :D

What a great day we had. Thank you to everyone that greeted, partied, laughed, kidded, hugged, kissed, flirted, drank, sang, drank, giggled, remembered, drank, loved, shared joys, worries, grief, jokes and stories.
You never know how much you have missed someone until you see them again. I missed you all a lot.
Thank you for sharing GLMF with us. It was our virgin year and you all did a memorable job of busting it.
I'll see many of you on August 9th and 10th for the GLMF closing weekend and I'd better see all of you at Morelandshire.
Gramercy from Jan and me.
Ah yes...what a grand invasion it was! Thank you everyone for the warm reception to our wedding news and Sir Wulf especially appreciates your love and support as he will head back to the hospital on Wednesday for more Chemo and the opportunity to see so many of you (although he missed seeing many many who were there!) did him a world of good! We could not wander the entire shire and if you saw us sitting we were not avoiding you! Now...back to those livers....how's everyone else feelin' this day?! I fer one am up and at 'em waiting for Capt. Fortune who needs to be transported to the airport at 6:30am (he came home just to see YOU!). We do hope to see you ALL in Pgh this year. Remember our ship is conveniently located just across from the pub! Thanks again kind friends!
WOW! :o That's all I gotta say...what started out as convivial banter across the Drift Inn with two fine gentlemen, Syrac and DuCouer...(okay...two dishy guys in garb ;)) has grown steadily year by year to an RF-Invasion of epic proportions the likes that has not to be seen in our Shire! I humbly thank all of you for traveling such distances as would put a nomad to shame (especially with gas prices) and I am also humbled by your love of our Faire...for it is all of you that make it all the more special to us! I pray you all have arrived or will arrive home safely soon and I look forward to our next encounter, where ever the Fates may lead us!

It is our good fortune to be able to travel to such a fine faire as GLMF!
We enjoyed ourselves very much. Apparently we had a Michigan Invasion Force of 4. Paul and myself, Karl and Donna. (Karl, I didn't check yet to see if you are a 'C' or 'K' arl.)
We met some generous and friendly R/F folks from Pittsburgh in the parking lot, and others here and there. Good company! It was cool to be able to put a face on a name from this forum.
You're faire is easy to navigate, has fantastic music, great acts and fabulous food. We hope you will come to MiRF some time and enjoy our hospitality.

As a matter of fact, GLMF has a tradition of invading Michigan on Labor Day weekend.
It has been going on for years.
Sadly I have not been in the financial position to partake of this grand event yet, but someday I will.
I think it was 2 years ago, our (now retired) villiage rat catcher did have the honor to rat puck with your queen.
Greetings all!
What a wonderful, magikal weekend!!! This was my second year to attend as an RF'er...and the welcome was even better....warmer...friendlier than last year (if that was possible?!)
Thank you all so much for making me feel so much a part of the group....

........an RF-Invasion of epic proportions the likes that has not to be seen in our Shire!
((HUGS)) and your servant ever,
Captain Morgan Dunne

It is so hard to believe that it has been over 5 years since Syrac and I have had that conversation with Morgan and Dwynn. Ever since that time, they are the ones I am searching for upon Arrival. I credit these two ladies for opening up to me what Faire is. And that is a network of friends and family that mean the World to me.
It was such a wonderful time this weekend. So many of my family there. From all over. I wish we could have had one more day just to spend time with everyone. If I didn't get to meet you, I am so very sorry but I do hope you found our Faire friendly and warm and will visit us next year.
To many of you...safe Travels mon amis....To others, and you know who you are, I will see you all very soon back in the arms of Avaloch....
