for making this another wonderful faire season for our family. It is such an amazing feeling to run into great R/F people around every corner. I enjoyed meeting those of you who I had not yet had the pleasure of getting to know, and I always enjoy time spent with friends. Both McLotofus and Phoenix Risen were warm and welcoming the few times I was able to make it out to patrons camp. Thanks for all your hospitality. The performers and vendors all did a wonderful job of making it a sweet escape each and every weekend, and I am sad to see it come to an end. I hope everyone had the same kind of special experience that we did, and I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Scarby. Have a wonderful holiday season, and a big HUZZAH for rennies everywhere ;D
I have to agree here, even though my renlet and I only made it down there once this season! We wished we were there ever weekend, and we thought about you all each weekend, when we realized it was time for cannon, or fireworks, or dinner around the campfire... and so many other moments that have become treasured memories for the both of us. We can't wait to come down again, and we are looking forward to Scarby with great impatience!!!
Thank you all so very much for making us feel so welcome, and so much a part of the TRF fairemily... it was much more than wonderful, and it was because of all of you!
All things considered, this was one of the best faire seasons for me in 20 years. Reminded me of what it was like when I first started working there :)
This has been the best season for me... like ever. I've been very fortunate to make a lot of new friends, and I know that I will miss them very much. My homies at Wine and Alchemy, as well as my new homies from Shunyata, Breandan, Leigh, Drea, Liz, Shawn the fortune teller..... all a great addition to people that I'm proud to know. This season has seen bridges built and bridges burned, but still, with everything that has happened, this has been the best year for me. Thank you all for making me believe in Ren again!
and all it took was Loki, a hypnosis session, and a bag of ferrets! ;D
okay, maybe the ferrets were just in my sleep deprived imagination, but dangnubbit, they were cuddly!
I'm finding it hard to express how much I enjoyed TRF and all my friends this year. I'm proud to be part of some of the most friendly, talented and generally extraordinary folks I've had the pleasure to know.
Yes indeed. Thank you all. I finally scurried down to McLotofus Friday and Saturday Night. Meet Bonnie, who greeted me with a welcoming shriek *too funny*, Valt, who next to me the size difference was comical, Blue, Elo who was my unofficial guide, Rapier, who after figuring out WHO I was drug me into the camp...thank you sir. I was quite meek til that point. I assume he thought I was another underage seeker. Though, it was not helping that everyone I asked for wasn't there Friday so his suspicion kept getting stronger and stronger. Then I said.."Ummm..I'm Mouse?" MOUSE! *yank*....Fraser, Finally glad to meet you sir. I hope you arent still under the weather as I write this. Breandan, wordsmith. Next year, I am getting myself a bearded axe sir. Anyone else I left out, thank you all for feeding me and being so welcoming. I intend to see you all next year and oh Valt. Jangles, Hayley, whatever you call her...she says hi.
Brother Mouse, i hope that you and MRS. Mouse will be able to make it out to TRF more next year... you are welcome in McLot's camp any time.
To everyone that i have met this year and have made me feel welcome... THANK YOU. This was one of the most awesome, mind bending experiences that I've ever had. Now that i'm feeling the "faire burnout" factor.... i have the holidays to deal with and look towards Sherwood & Scarby.
It was one hellva season! HUZZAH!!
OK just wanted to say thank you to all that came by and caught at least one of our shows this year. Thanks to you all we had the best season that the crew of the Pride of Bedlam has ever had. We brought out 50 CD's on Friday and were completely sold out by the 2:30 show on Sunday.
On a personal note:
Thank you to Zaubon and Teach for staying on me to make it out to camp. That was the first time I had been on that sided in about 4 years. I enjoyed getting to meet you all as Jarimie and not have to be Broadside the whole time. Well now it's time to recoup and get my voice back before Scarby as we will most likely be performing there on Pirate Weekend. Thanks again for welcoming me in and being a open and friendly extended family.
Thanks again,
Thank you to Blue for the loki! It was the first that I've had and it was quite good :)
Holly. I was looking for you Sunday. I went by Fairy Effects and was going to ask around but alas, the person who I was to inquire from was busy taking pictures of Alaric from the store.

lol. Was that you? You left before I could explain that I wasn't mad at you, I was mad at the fact that Alaric's friend left. We were enjoying the nice view from the porch.
You should have stayed. I would have taken pictures of you, too :)

A priviledge to have you out there Broadside!
Your apple pie was quite a treat.
And I am glad I was able to get my CD before you sold out. I bought it at that same 2:30 show!
*You're a good man to sit about drinking rum with!*
This season has been incredible, the few times I've been able to make it out.
You all are the reason that made the miles so worth it though.
Thank you for the good times, the great company, the incredible memories.
We've had so many new faces join the motley crew of forum members and I'm so glad to have met so many of them! Our growing contingent seems to get larger year by year.
To those that I didn't meet, I'm keeping my eyes out and will look forward to meeting you in the future.
Thanks goes to everyone that gave a helping hand to this gypsy chick; feeding me, helping put up my tent, and everything else I can't think of this season.
Same time, same place next year? You bet your arse, I'll see you there!

That was you on the stoop. You know, I caught him later at the Sea Devil...he found a way to practically make out with Miss Mouse, the on in the black corset next to the woman in the silver jinglys...heck, her as well. I should of sent him your way.

All part of the whole Faire experience, Mouse... LOL If no one wanted to "make out" with your lady she might have felt left out, or even slighted in some way! Just part of the service that the men are
supposed to provide, that's all... ;) :D
Oh, I don't mind. I think I am more touting his confidence and the fact he seems like a decent guy. If man meat scopes out my miss, then more power to her and me. Even I will admit he was a hunk.. . It brought a smile to their faces..and a smirk to his. If you gots it, flaunt it. Speaking of gotting it and flaunting it, Rani...I asked about your at camp. Where were you?
Hey guys, can we make sure that we keep it on topic? We're straying off the original meaning of the thread when conversations like these could be taking to ren-mails.
Thanks!

*squeak* Sorry Elo.
:-[
No apologies needed. Just keepin the convo on topic!
Snorkel!
....oh, wait... ;)
I also have to say I managed to pump out the most weapons ever in a faire season- eight knives and daggers, one short sword, two axes, and one warhammer. Next on my agenda- damascus knives and a full-length sword during the off-season at the shop in Santa Fe, so that by TRF 2010 I can make big money and make Mouse broke :D
TRF's 35th season was a grand one indeed! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting friends, old and new, and enjoying the wonderful departure from mundanity provided by our faire. The TRF Performance Company was awesome, the stage entertainment spectacular, and the food, drink and goods from the vendors were enough to overwhelm the senses. TRF is one of the world's finest forms of escapism, and we are most fortunate to have the spectacle of New Market Village available to us each autumn. Like many of you, I am already looking forward to next season.
I am thankful to get to know even more R/Fers this season. I loves the hugs and hope to meet more of you as I can.
I didn't get to meet many of ya....OK, OK I was only able to stop and say "Hi" to Ms. Blu before venturing off to hunt down more garb for ma lady but the advice given here was much appreciated.
Of all the fun I had there this year the one thing that I will remember is....the fried PBJ sammich.(http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/Hercules101/11.gif)
Uum and the hot little blonde in chainmail will be fondly 'member'd too. (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/Hercules101/9.gif)
Thank you all for making Dorian's 1st season a great one.
had a great time at ren fair this year and hopefully i can make it more than twice next time. nice meeting everyone that i did and looking forward to next year, huzzah!!!!
I only got to make opening weekend. You know, the RAINY one? :(
Joined a new musical group that sort of tied up a few of my weekends...
Anyway, I hope to see a few of you at Scarby, as I will finally be attending my first weekend there! Been in DFW for four years, and STILL haven't attended...
I was only able to make it down to TRF for Friday night and Saturday of closing weekend this year and had a blast as always. It was awesome that I by total random chance showed up the day of the Ravenswood leather group photo and got to show of the awesome highwayman's coat they made for me. I'm new to the forums (found them after spending literally a couple of hours trying to figure out what the giant flag that I now know marks Valhalla was) I am definitely wishing now that I had found these forums BEFORE I went down, but there is always Scarby, Sherwood and next year.
And we are glad that you made it Mouse. It was great to finally meet you face to face. We're looking forward to seeing you again at Sherwood, and this year we will be going to Scarby, so we'll see you there too. You should comb through Mpullen's very comprehensive camping list to get thoroughly prepared. That is, assuming that you need any help with that.
Batninja, we only made that first rainy sunday also. My nieces and I had a great time in spite of the rain! I even met a few new people that day. Sadly, this is my first year not getting my hug from our dear Queen Bonnie! I hated not making it back (or showing off the new bodice I made), but the money faerie just didn't cooperate. Can't wait to meet more friends next year!
I just wanted to give everyone a big HUZZAH for helping Gareth's first season at TRF fun and memorable for us. It was wonderful to meet everyone, and am saddened that there were many others that I missed. There is always Sherwood and Scarby though. Can't wait to see everyone again.
Oh and Kat...Give Dorian and big hug and kiss from Gareth and I (esp. Gareth he loved giving that baby sugar...lol)
Two points..one to Alaric, if he checks the boards anymore. Thanks to Valt, I have found that he and I have the same tattoo..justmine is much larger on my back. Two: I saw that exact same dragon tattoo as the cover art of a romance harlequin book not to long ago. While Alaric FITS the part...yeah....Not so much. Cool tattoo though. *his better be real, otherwise, I am the only one with a harlequin tattoo on my back!*
Ooooooh Mouse.... I believe that tattoo is a fakey. I may need another unobstructed view of Alaric from head to toe though, you know, just to make sure.
Well I hate to be the odd one out (I'm used to being odd though) but this year was one of my worst years at TRF. Was my 1st year actually working the faire (have been going for 20 years) and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I missed just walking around and taking pictures whenever I wanted and having to leave within hours of getting out of the booth on Sundays. There was more tension between me and my girlfriend than there has been since we've been together (10 months) and some of the drama I had to deal with involving some other people at faire who can't act like civilized human beings.
For the rest of y'all, you were the ones who helped me actually not have to kill anyone and salvaged TRF for me. Sir Martin, Monty, Bonny, Blue, Elo and those others I know I'm forgetting (you know who you are though) y'all were the best and I looked forward to seeing y'all every weekend.
Do I miss TRF.. You bet.. Can't wait till next year. Things will be different then. I refuse to let one year out of twenty ruin my faire for me. To those of you that plan on attending Sherwood and Scarby, I will see you there! Don't be shy, come up and say hi to me. ;D
I had made early plans to attend TRF and camp with the clan....the whole works. However.... a job came along that I could not pass on and ended up in Louisiana for 9 weeks....missing the entire faire.
Only about 150 days till Scarby though.....
