Title: Corsets
Post by: Manwariel on November 30, 2009, 08:39:12 AM
Has anyone made a corset using McCall's 4109 (http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M4109.htm?is=bestseller)? If so, do you know how accurate the sizes are? My measurements are a size 8. Should I make the 8 or the 6 (or even the 4)? Simplicity 5006 (http://www.simplicity.com/p-2206-costumes.aspx) is very similar, so if you've used that one, I'd like to know about it too :) I'm aware it's not Renaissancey - I'm thinking of using it for steampunk garb.

I just used that McCalls pattern for my Steampunk corset!  I made it one size smaller than my actual measurements, looking at the finished garment measurements, not the "size".  It worked great.  If you want to see what it looked like, I'm finially getting around to posting pictures of it in the Steampunk thread today.  :)
