Quite likely to be there all three days, and for both balls.  Sounds like a great time.  I'll have to think of some appropriate outfitting for the Dark Carnival, though.

Sadly with our current schedule that is a rehearsal weekend for VARF so while I would LOVE to go, I think I'll have to pass unless our schedule changes.   :'(

Trying to decide if I'm going, I had a blast at FaerieCon but I went with out-of-state friends who won't be able to make it back for this and I don't want to go alone.

Hrrr.

So I see the groovy guests of honor and the bands, is there a list of vendors who will be participating?  Is this weekend event worth almost the price of a fairever pass for MDRF?  Is anything besides admission included (i.e. food/bar at events)?

You get admission - at least that's how FaerieCon was.  This is a first time event so it's hard to know exactly what to expect.  I am looking forward to shopping!!!

I got free passes to the vendor area for Friday and Sunday.  If anyone wants one let me know.

There is a list of vendors about 50 of us and we are downstairs from the ballroom.   There appears to be a good variety of items.

Hello all I'm Lady Celynn from the Pittsburgh Renn faire.  This will be our (me and my boyfriend Rick) first time to Rencon.  I'm really looking forward to it and to meeting new rennie friends.  Is there a special place or way to identify possible new friends from this group?  One other question....For the dark carnival do the costumes/garb have to be renaissance period?  Both Rick and I wear great Victorian vampire costumes in Oct and we'd really like to wear them for the carnival, but we don't want to appear to be too out of place.

I will have the memory sign in book at my booth which is in the market place.  I am right in the middle of the room, corner booth center of the room,  by the the stage.  Booth name is Things from Rings, its a chainmaille booth with some shiny armor that will be hanging on the back wall, or... giggle.. I might be wearing it...LOL

I still have passes for free entry to this area,  I have passes for Friday and Sunday left,  when I get to the hotel I will find a spot where I can sit to give them to those who want them.  I have some set aside already, but I do have at least 30 more for each of those days left for those interested.

Queen Bonnie.... Its been years since meeting, and I look forward to seeing you again as well as all my far away friends!!

To the M'Cracks..... any one planning anything?  (Count me in!!)

This will be our first Rencon and I have a question about the Dark Carnevale...is any garb appropriate?  I have lots of dark vampire garb but it's from all different periods including Victorian.

Regrettably, we will not be in attendance after all. Just WAY too much work to do.
Have fun regardless.

Good news.. this is the FIRST Rencon in the area... So nobody is solid on what is "done" or not...  We are doing Medieval for the first night but haven't decided on the second night...

Wear what you want.  Everybody should be very welcoming if it is anything like FaerieCon.

See you there!  I will be there with two teenage daughters and my young sapling (son) and my Cravan (husband)

We were there on Sunday only... arrived around 11:30.  Walked the vendors until about 2PM when the restaurant bar finally open:).

We saw a few people from MDRF (Lady Gloriana included:)).  Having this on the same weekend as BPI certainly hurt them I think.

I so agree with your statement Lupa.   ???  Why didn't they check the calendar???  We enjoyed ourselves but it wasn't FaerieCon.

We were able to attend both balls but none of the panels.  I will say I was very disappointed and should have listened to my own advice about wearing whatever we wanted... My girls and I purchased medieval gowns/surcoats to wear for the Medieval Masque... And we were totally uncomfortable.  There were only a few people dressed in theme and the music, except for Gypsy Nomads - wasn't really conducive to the vibe we expected for a ball.  The second night we had more fun but again, there was limited dancing and it was mainly a huge meet and great rather than a dancing ball.

I am glad we were able to attend but really hope next year will be different.

This kind of makes me glad I didn't go, though the panels did sound very interesting! I think I'll just wait for Faeriecon to come next year. :)
