This is in response to a posting on the RobinandCompany Yahoo group concerning small trailers (pop-up size) in the campgrounds. If you aren't a member of the Yahoo group and interested in keeping up-to-date, I post more detailed messages there.

Yes, if that backside access road gets widened (and straightened), a small pop-up size trailer can make it into the reserved group camping areas, provided the group has made a wide enough entrance into their area and has cleared enough area for it to setup. You may have to move it into position by hand. Check with your group leaders to make sure they plan on the necessary cleared space.
As far as the general/open camping area, I plan on marking areas large enough for pop-up sized trailers. Areas for larger trailers/RVs will have to wait until the additional land is made available. That's why I mentioned the local state campgrounds.
If you have questions, come find me during the Dec. 12 gathering. I'll probably be in the campgrounds laying out marker tape and signs for the clearing of the general/open camping area. My travel trailer should be on the gravel area over by the admin building. I suggest any travel trailers/RVs coming in for the Dec. 12 gathering setup in that area. The remaining area between the admin building and the Pub gate should be cleared for parking and camping. I'll be putting up signs directing folks to the camping/parking area.
I still have about 1/5 of the reserved/group camping area available. The remaining area will be first-come, first claimed. The remaining area can support about 4 more moderate (20 or so tents) sized groups. Bring yellow marker tape and implements of land clearing. Do not cut down any trees wider than 3 inches (but we are open for requests to cut the larger trees if you come up with a good reason).
I'd like some volunteer folks to help clear the general/open camping area. That means folks with chainsaws (and know how to use them safely) to drop some large trees and clear brush. The onsite bulldozer will push out the cleared material (I hope). Of course, you can cut up the felled trees for firewood. The firewood presently stacked up around the Faire area needs to be saved for the campgrounds fire circle.
If someone has a hydraulic log splitter who would be willing to bring it out for folks to use, that would be great. Suggest a trade agreement of something like: split 2 logs for person, 3rd log goes to splitter owner, 4th log goes for the campground fire circle.
BTW, for folks who recognize me by the long hair and beard: both are gone as of last Monday (back to my corporate wienie disguise). Just yell out "Hey, Mike" and if I can hear you, I'll yell back.

i am not promising, but it seems we are about to widen the campsite road clearing and will likely have a 12' gravel road around the campsite--not into the individual cleared areas. would be worth examining once the road is in. mike can probably revise the regs after the road is in if it can accomodate pop-ups.
