It's a new year and you know that means a new calendar!
What you choose I feel reflects your personality. I mean, you have to look at it all year, right?
This year I bought an Anne Taintor calendar, hanging in my kitchen. Smart-arse remarks set to vintage ads.
What is your calendar and where do you hang it?

Castles, I got Castles this year.
This year I got " Gardens " an el cheapo calender from Walgreens... ;D
Our friends have a small farm, and this year they made us a calendar with pictures of them, their farm, the different animals, the flowers, the different seasons. It is beautiful. On our kitchen wall.
Downstairs by the computer, every year Steve's parents send us a calendar of Dorset, the county in England where he is from. The pictures are gorgeous, lots of castles, coastal scenes, ruins, thatched roof houses, and other beautiful scenery.
I got a nature themed calendar mainly cause there's a storage pocket on the bottom, Lasy year I gota grid plus calendar with removable stickers to help planing. I couldn't find one this year.

My friend, Cristi, sent me an Anne Taintor calendar year before last...It was my kitchen calendar (I have several calendars about, usually). Love the humor!
I use my desk calendar the very most. This year, like last year, it's a ledger-style week by week calendar, with "birds of a feather" as the motif. The ledger style reminds me of my grandparents, since my grandfather kept our family grocery store books in similar form.
My harp teacher usually sends me a Sheltie Rescue calendar also (hangs in my "office" on the wall) and TN State Parks, that owns the house next door, sent us a Radnor Lake calendar that goes up in the kitchen. Aeron had a Beatles Sgt Pepper calendar for last year, this year I got him an Edward Gorey "Uninvited Guest" calendar.
Every year I buy my wife a "folk-art" Cat calendar for the kitchen. At work I hang a "Warbird" calendar in my cube.
Anne Taintor is a riot! And I'd by that young lady that cocktail anytime! ;D
Puppies in the office. Free bank calendar in the kitchen, I think it has landscapes on it. And of course, my own calendar with my art printed on it, with Lakota moons for each month.
(Available from both my Zazzle and Cafepress stores.)
I have a calendar with 'woodland' fairies on it. It also came with 4 magnets for the frig. ;D
Dilbert. What else would a real geek use? Except maybe the Despair 2010 calendar (from ThinkGeek) , but those are just for geek points, and I already have too many of those.

American flags. Has been since 2001. They're getting harder to find, sadly.
I have an advertising calendar from a company in Scotland that makes Gas Detection instruments. It has large pictures of various spectacular scenes with a small map showing where in Scotland the place is located. Below that is a description of the area, listing the Clan, the tartan, the motto, and a sample of the Tartan. My favorite is: Castle Stalker, Argyll & Bute... Castle Stalker is perched on a low, rocky outcrop at the mouth of Loch Laich, an inlet on the east shore of Loch Linnhe. This rectangular keep was built by the Stewarts of Appin in the 13th century and, in more recent times, featured in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Castle Stalker's Gaelic name is Stalcaire, which translates as "hunter" or "falconer". The Clans of Scotland- Location- Dalmellington; Tartan- Cathcart; Motto- I hope to speed. :D :D :D
Horses by the computer desk and Kittens by my work desk in the first bedroom.
I got a Disney Princess one hahaha...Its one from the Royal collection, basically their dresses have a ton of fancy trims and embellishments. good inspiration for my upcoming big project. It hangs on the only available wall space in my dorm, which happens to be right above my "sewing table" (desk provided by my school hahaha)
I *love* Anne Taintor. :) I've been known to bust out in a fit of laughter in card shops when I come upon some of her stuff. I use her notecards, but for my calender...well...I haven't bought one yet! I usually make a trip to my favorite asian market in Tampa just before the holidays and they give me their new years calender. It's really beautiful with really gorgeous Chinese nature prints. I didn't make it this year...so for now I'm virtual.

every year I hold up the Lady Cottington's squashed pressed fairy calendar and every year I tell myself that it's not appropriate for the kitchen. I settle for a folksy Debbie Mumm one every year.
GoodyTombshoes, I think you should go right out and buy yourself the squashed fairy calender. :)
Myne is the Pin-Up art of Gil Elvren...prominently displayed in the passageway between th' galley an' the living room. :D

1000 Places to see before you die
Already checked a bunch off the list. ;D
the calender for work is Horses the calendar in my room is vom
Fun topic! I also think which calendar people choose is a great insight into who they are! Unfortunately, this year my calendar is more like an insight into my budget, lol! I wanted Star Trek or dogs or something. But at Michael's they had calendars on sale for $1, so for work I got one with butterflies. It's pretty but not really a passion or anything. :) I did splurge on the one for home - bought it yesterday at Target for 50% off, and it is The Office.
The only place I use a calendar is at work. So I got a free calendar from the local bank.
Gina
Cool topic
In my real office I have an awesome wildlife one that I got from my insurance agent.
On the desk I have a huge free one I got from one of our parts supplier.
At home (havent figured out where to hang it yet) I have a beautiful calendar my dad bought for me in Paris- it is all different water color and oil paintings of famous Parisian sights by day and night- its beautiful. When the year ends I will cut out the different images out and frame them.

DH and I get each other a Scotland calendar each year. This year (without knowing it) we both picked the National Geographic version for one another.
But I'd be SUPER interested in the one above. BubbleWright: Care to share how one might order/request one of those calendars??
Twig! makes me smile even when doing dishes (do faeries do dishes?) i need a calendar for my desk at work, though...
I think this year is classic cars. I would like a tribal fusion bellydance calendar, maybe something with Rachel Brice and Zoe Jakes in it...

Well Lassie... Since you have an inside track on things Scottish, I propose a trade, as the likelihood of obtaining another one of these is rather slim. Were I to buy a calandar for myself, it would probably be one with mechanical things such as classic autos, or aircraft, or steam trains. Surprise me. My email address is in my Profile... send me your snail mail address and I will reply with mine.

I got a few calenders this year, almost enough for every room in the house, I have the one from the girls at the Tilted Kilt in my office, a nice Texas Landscapes one in the computer area, and my favorite, the Waffle House Good Customer monthly coupon calender in the kitchen.
At work, Daily scenes of Ireland! I'll have to find one (and a good central place for it) for home...
A relative of mine made a "family" calendar where we all sent in photos and she scrap-booked a family one. Nice, but kinda spookey to me. Each month features a different branch of the family tree. Mine looks rather sparce, with the token cat picture. Oh well.
My BFF gave me a steampunk calendar. This is the one I got myself for my birthday - Bathing Jagers (Rowr!): http://www.cafepress.com/cp/moredetails.aspx?showBleed=false&ProductNo=85805765&colorNo=0&pr=F
This site made me laugh and this in particular seemed relevant. I do it anyway...

Nuns Having Fun 2010, "Who do we have to hail, Mary, to get a drink around here?"
Do you know how hard it is to find a decent calendar this late in the year? At least I've gotten some entertaining reactions from clerks. ;D
I have a Nikon photography calender on one wall that was sent to me ... and my family 365 Days in Great Britain (they couldn't find a Scotland one).
I bought my mother and I each Fae calendars. I'm hoping to put together a personal calendar for us this year with photos of our favorite performers and friends for each month.
OSH train calendar

The 2010 Scuderia Ferrari calendar...go figure

My best friend's mom bought us a Pirateology calendar. It's perfect for us!
A calendar chocked full of pictures of Yorkies. we want our next dog to be a Yorkie.
Treehouses of the World! ;D
Alphonse, my bff & I had the pleasure of staying at this tree house lodging in New Zealand - yes, it really is that beautiful, mountains on one side & the ocean on the other: http://www.hapukulodge.com/kaikoura/
Calendar? What would you expect from Brother Timothy but Belmont Abbey.
Usually I don't buy one, cause it's just "not important enough" for a full time student who makes basically no money. XD I take whatever someone hands to me for free, this year my mother gave me a Seminol Hard Rock & Casino Boat Show calendar. The pictures are HORRIFIC (imagine our local Seminole chief with two scantly clad women, etc). I fold over the top part so I don't have to see the pictures...I really should start making my own calendars again. Lol.
Where's a faun-themed pin-up or beefcake calendar when ya need it?
