Title: The Fraternity of Dirt-eaters
Post by: VIII on February 19, 2010, 03:19:45 PM
I just thought I would start a thread for those of us who have Squired in the lists at Faires and other venues.

I Squired for the Free Lancers at Camelot in 1994

I Squired for them again in 1997 at Ohio, Ontario, and Maryland

I Squired a few times at Medieval Times in Dallas when I was not performing

This will be my first year being a squire at Scarborough Renaissance Festival with War Horse Productions. I am looking forward to learning a new skill, any words of wisdom and advice will be greatly appreciated.

If we were to make a Fraternity out of it, what could we all wear as a sign that we have been a squire?  A mini-lance cometh to mind.

"Your Majesty, forgive a humble squire for noticing, but you wear the pin of the 'Sandbox' upon your noble garb.  Would his Highness deign to note that I wear the same?"

Now THAT would be a hoot!

Mini-lance sounds good. (big lance would be a drag in the end of the day  ;) )

I got to remember this quote.

Got my ID for War Horse Production for Scarborough in the mail. If it only came with a dose "know what the hack you are doing" it would be splendid. I guess, I will have to learn everything the old-fashioned way...  ;)
