Title: Eyelet Tape Issue
Post by: Manwariel on February 19, 2010, 03:50:10 PM
Noooo. I tried on the steampunk corset I'm making, and

I really don't want to take out that whole line of eyelet tape, especially since the leather stuff is kind of a pain to remove. Ideas? Maybe zig-zag up the tear and put another eyelet in?

Edit: I may just leave it and come up with an over-the-top story of how it happened.

In case you do decide to fix it.  I usually try and squeeze a small stabilizer in the middle, zig zag and then add a new eyelet.  Sorry this happened to you and on such a wonderful looking corset as well.

I would put another piece of material behind the tear and sew over it a couple of times, so that when the hole for the eyelet is made there is less chance of the sewing coming undone and making the tear re-appear.

I also like the idea of coming up w/a crazy idea for how it happened. :)
