Hey guys,
This would be my fourth summer,
But unfortunately my former employer no longer needs my help (she is using girls that travel with her),
And without a job I will not be able to come see so many of you who are my great friends!
Unfortunately I cannot afford to just come and "play".
If you hear of anyone looking for employees,
Please pass it along here or on facebook.
Much love and I hope everyone is doing well!
Try joining cast! Its way more fun than actually working :D

And if anyone would know, Lady Remi certainly would!
I would, but I'm in Florida right now for school, so I would not be able to audition
There's always foodie work! I might be losing one of the girls in my booth this summer, you could come work with me! (In a perfect world, obviously...but I could put in a good word!) :)

The secret is out- work in a food booth is the best. Everyone would starve without us. Plus- we have miniature golf at breaks with little windmills and a pond with gold fish.
Don't forget, working in a food booth means no need for suntan lotion! ;)

I honestly think we have some of the best jobs on site. And we have so much fun doing it! Last weekend when I was in Arizona, none of the foodies seemed to even want to be there. They didn't talk, they didn't interact, they didn't have fun. Only one of the bartenders even bothered. I was bummed. :( But I love my job! I have fun talking with patrons and playtrons and just being silly. And of course, the whole "getting paid to go to ren faire for free" thing is amazing too.
Yeah, we work our behinds off, especially during the rush, but it is way too fun to be called "work."
I'm surprised to hear about servers at Arizona! I've visited faires where the food people treat you like they have no idea they are at a Ren Faire, which is sad since it makes it just a job for them. The patrons at our faire love it when we have fun with them. Interacting with the patrons is my favorite part.
I know Zoe has fun in the pop booths, but I think it is safe to say we have more fun with the pizza... ;)
I worked food before, and I had a great time, but I wasn't a fan of my boss and some of the people I worked with.
However, I think in the right environment, I would love it again :]

Spot on, Master Demetrius!
the other corporate option is merchandise. T-shirts, mugs, water, cameras, etc. I did that my first year out there and had a BALL, and Melissa, the lass who runs it now, is great. and ye don't have t stand next to a grill all day sweating on the chicken.
Do any of you have contact information for these people? (Betty for the front gate, Melissa for merchandise, Zoe your boss, etc). Obviously over a message or email if you prefer since this is a public forum. But it would be easier/more efficient than applying through the main website.
The e-mail on the site on the "e-mail the castle" link goes to my boss, Paul. I don't know what success you'll have getting a response via e-mail from him, but if you call the main office and ask to leave a message or talk to him, you might have better luck that way.
and, Melissa answers to Paul as well. Paul is over F&B & merch. chances are, if you apply for employment, they will decide where to put you. If you want to try for gate, call the main office number and ask for Betty. odds are, corporate is the more "secure" of the 2 options. Paul lives out of state, so don't expect a quick response. ;-( Paul is however, a really nice guy (IMHO).
He's probably the best boss I've ever had.
Princess Alice, if you end up filling out a general employment application (available on the site shortly) feel free to put down my name, I'd be happy to vouch for you to Paul when orientation time comes around.
Paul is awesome- just don't bother him when he's busy. ;)

I hear Zoe is a slave driver... notice the pop booth is ten feet from the stockade.... I mean, there's a reason they put Zoe at the top of the hill! ;D

I believe that would be "sweeting," 'tis the finest chicken in the land! One advantage to standing by a grill all day- hundreds of people tell you you are hot! Why thank ye!

Cheers to thee! Baron & Baroness- two of our favorites- we always look forward to your arrival.

I do keep a whip in the back of the booth...although I tell people it's for dealing with unruly patrons....
And the reason I'm at the top of the hill is so that when my booth floats away when it rains I can get good momentum to booth-joust with Teriyaki Chicken!
So I know I'm late to the party, Alice, if you want to speak with Me (Melissa) Or paul about the positions at the faire working for merchandise or F&B, please call the castle rock office. They will take your information and send it on to us. You have to specificly ask for them to call me though if you wish to speak with me.
Either place is great to work. though if you like a fast paced day food will probably be your best bet. Merchandise can be really slow, and you have to be very comfortable approching people and helping them realise they NEED another mug or shirt. Merch. Is a great place to make relationships with patrons, and some cast, we tend to not have lines like food.

And mgrundy is the best at it that I've ever seen. In fact, I now have a whole closet full of garb that I didn't know I needed until I made her acquaintance!
Huzzah!

I've seen yer booth meandering about like a ship out of Monty Python- in the driest of weather.

If I don't put a leash on that thing, it gets about wherever it likes to go...
My Cart can join the booth Joust too. If the rain is like it was last year I am going to have to get arm floaties for my Cart girls lol

What a visual! LOL!!
I have this image of you atop your booth, a garland waving madly over your head shouting "tallyho! Onward to the Joust!" while kicking the roof with your heels...
What can I say, I have a simple if vivid imagination.

Ever think about trying an anchor? Perhaps one of the newbies?
No newbies are full of fluff ya need somethin' heavier ::)

Perhaps newbies could act as lightning rods since Zoe's booth is prone to bolts from above...
