Scurvy Awareness is a yes.  Candy, we're gonna car pool, yes?  I've requested off for JLD but I'm also going on vacation the following weekend for ten days (going to OHIO for sister's wedding) and not sure if my work will be so accommodating to me, cause that's A LOT of requests off for June.  If anything, David will be there for everything.  I put in my request off that it was my sister's bachelorette party.  While that's technically true, as her party is the weekend of the 12-13th, it's also in Ohio... :-*

We would love to go to both. But we don't have anyone to keep the kids for us and that is just to long to leave them home alone. So count us out this time. :'(

MY MOM IS TAKING AIDAN YIPPEE! So we can definitely come for the whole weekend. We just need to start thinking of the hotel issues. We cannot afford much so I really want to team up with people to get the a room or suit. Who knows the area well enough to look up this info? I've only been out there once and it was about ten years ago! I want to make sure we get close to the action.

Did we met at BARF?  your picture just doesn't look familiar and I looked at your my space too! I met so many people and I'm horrible at names and faces unless I see you more then once. Just wonderin! hehe we are "Newbies" too to the pirate festivals. We have only attened BARF. Would it be just you if we went in on the room if not how many others are with you?

Esperanza: Hope you can get off! would love to room with you and David if you can both go, if not David is more then welcome to join us. I'm trying to figure out who is interested in going in on the room before we try to book. The place Maria has suggested has room for 6!

Ooh, Amber, I hadn't realized that those rooms held six people.  Will def have to make final plans soon.  David and I will get together with everyone at SCAD and let you know what the final verdict is, since you and David aren't going to make it.  What were they, $137 a night?

if we go with a two bed suite which also has pull out couch with the 15% discount it will put it at $246(normal 289) per night but then we can divide it by how many we have in the room. if we plan to stay two nights and have 6 it will be about $82 per person + tax and fees. if we only have 5 it would be about $98. (you would have a nice bed to yourself Kate!) if we want to do it we need to book at soon as possible as they are very close to all the action! This was a great pick by Maria.

They have rooms that sleep 4-6

Aye..sorry to say that I do not believe we met at Barf..Lady Remy and I will be going to SCAD and JLD..Looking for hotel info, however, I have a bit of pirate sleepin disorder...so it may be best for me to be a bit down the hall from everyone.. :P.

it might be a better (CHEAPER) idea for us if we just got the smaller suite and someone bring along an air mattress that we can just put in the middle of the living room.  Then, we're splitting $135 five ways.  Sounds better to me.  Unless there are other takers as well that want to crowd into a room.  I don't really care how many people are in the room with me, lol, the more the merrier.  as long as I have a floor to crash on, I'll be happy.  Only major problem will be bathroom schedules.

I have a queen size blow up mattress that is the higher type so pretty comfy, if we want to do the cheaper room. Bathroom schedule would be the same in the two bed, it only has one bathroom. Question is there room for the mattress? we may be moving furniture around  ;D I know I'm just like you, Monica, I just want a place to crash!

NP. I know either myself or Ambios if not Madge tries to post it every year to let people know what's going on or where to find people.
Even without the wee ones, feel free to check out the fight circles, brawls and cannons going off.  ;) And check out the candy/ice cream shop Kilwin's.
And ask questions if you've never attended.
Major tips? Even if drinking stay HYDRATED. It's about 90 degrees in the shade at this one! :-p And don't forget sunblock...I got fishnet sunburn from stockings that lasted for 2 years!
It's a fun show to be at.
I'm sure that everyone can recommend good places to eat too...The Friendly Fisherman is where the bar brawl is at.
and yes, the pub crawl tickets are worth it from what I hear.

I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have it off.  But I figured that we'll have no choice but to make the hotel reservations since we don't want to be without a room.  I'm thinking it won't be that big of a deal because my boss likes me and knows that I don't really request off too many days.  June is just a big month for me.  Lots going on.

Don't be sad!  I don't have to do everything, nor do I have any desire to do EVERYTHING because I know from past years that the combination of heat and fun = a super tired (even *gasp* cranky!) pink pirate.  I'm gonna play it by ear, but am most likely just doing Saturday.

The St. Arg info is on the Harbinger group Discussion Board on Facebook.  It takes place in November and is an absolutely fantastic time.  It is known as the Oldest City and is on the Northeast coast of Florida.  Beautiful place!

So here we are t-3 days from Scurvy Awareness Day.

The event starts at noon so I'm sure Candy and I will be leaving my nexk of the woods around 11ish.  Let's get in as much fun as possible on this Sunday Funday of pirating!

Also, if you're on the Harbinger FB, check over there for important info about where and when we'll be meeting (also I'm thinking the krewe pic will be moved earlier in the day for the sake of sweatiness).

Who's there???

I plan to be at Scurvy Awareness Day.  However, I won't be there until later in the day - since I am going to be headed home to Colorado soon, I need to get every bit of fight practice in at LeVique rehearsals on Sunday.  But, I'll be there!

I figure even if I'm sweaty and nasty, that just makes me more authentically a pirate. I need every bit of help, considering who I play. :D

This weekend was a BLAST!  It was great to see you all and meet some new faces!

I only wish I could have stayed longer than 4 hours! Came home to a powerless neighborhood and had to break into my own house...

I can't wait to see you all at JLD in June, hopefully some of you before then!  Don't forget the Memorial Day trip to GARF! :)

I'm too late to ask for that friday off or to leave early, my manager is already taking it off. So I will not be able to make that drive--poops!  :'(--- Just means I can save more money for JLV and have a blast!

@Squire Mickey : Are you shacken up at a hotel for JLV or making the drive each day?

@ Monica: Have you and David decided what you wanted to do? I'm gonna book our room by next wednesday so  I need to know if I'm splitting it with anyone or if David and I are doin this on our own...if on our own we will most likely stay at a hotel near but not right on Johns Pass because of the expense.

We're not leaving until 4 PM...  It is only 8 hours.  David can sleep all day and make the drive! :)  You'll get in around 2 AM and cannon isn't until 10:30!  A good 8 hours of sleep! :)

I talked to Maria and she said it only ended up costing around $98 a night and she only had to come up with half now and then half upon checkout.  She said when you call, to mention "The Harbinger" or even her name and you should get a great discount.  David and I really want to do everything, but we don't know if it will happen, based on my schedule.  I don't want to commit to something, and then have it blow up in my face if I end up having to work, even though I did request the time off.  I asked my boss if she thought it would be an issue and she said she wasn't sure, because other people have requested that time off too.  In short, I guess it makes sense for you and your David to do what is right for the two of you, and me and my David will have to play it by ear.  But if I do get the time off, we would love to split the cost of a room with you, even if we have to sleep on an air mattress.  Just saying... :-*

So David and I have other plans and will not be getting a room. We found a friend who lives not too far so she is trying to set us up in her place or a friend that has extra space. Yippee, even if we have to sleep in my moms van (it easily will fit a blow up matrees with the seats out.) we just need a drive way and access to a bathroom so we are good to go! That means more money to spend on the fun stuff!

** side note we will have the van so we can play taxi for those in need of rides to and from hotels if need be!  ;)

I do believe we will be staying about 3-4 miles away to begin with. Our friend is very familiar with JLV so I'm sure she will have some pointers for us since she lives in the area.
If they allowed camping on the beach I would SOOO do that! but I guess they done want a bunch of drunk pirates wandering at night!

Spoke to Suzzie King on Tuesday. The season passes will happen and they will either be $60 or $65. She will let me know when they are available. I will post here as well as on the FB Harbinger page. Thus is the presales price. Later they will be $75 or $80.

Okay...looks like Trisha and I will be doing the pass thing...  Pub crawl and awl...  and since I don't drink any longer Katie has already commandeered my drinks... good pirate wench that she is!!!

Not sure about the accommodations yet... Trisha is looking right now... might just take the truck and use an air mattress in the back and sleep under the stars...  pretty darned pirate'y if you ask me.  Of course... I would be the one arrested for vagrancy.

See you all at JLD.  And bring....   WATER...  Lots and lots of WATER.

Hey, just letting you and Trisha know that we're staying at the Beach House Motel & Apartments.  It's only $60 a night and we're getting a suite with another couple, so 4 people fit comfortably.  Not sure if you know anyone that can go in with you on a room, but this is the cheapest I've found that's a hop skip and jump away from John's pass.  Honestly, I probably wouldn't care if it was a dive, considering we're only gonna pass out there and wake up there.  All our partying will be done at JLD!  But I'll post the web addy below.  The manager I talked to was James.  Hope I helped out some!   :)

We look forward to hearing you play.  Hope you're a lively crew, as we can be a lively crowd.

Oh, and my schedule for June is out, Amber.  I have been approved for alll the time off I requested.  It's official, I'm there!

Oh I think that you will be pleasantly surprised. We are NOT the traditional, layed back, plinky plinky kind of band one hears so often at faires and festivals.  More like a kick in the proverbial eggs, with bawdy and downright dirty songs thrown in for good measure.  See you there!

I'll be there on the 13th! I'm making some pirate pants to go with my corset and pirate hat. Don't know what to wear on my feet yet, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. I'm excited! It will be my first time there.

My mind just went all kinds of wrong places with regard to "pink to ponder." We're gonna miss you lots, Katie!

If you know a lass who wants to make a few $$ over the weekend, we are looking for a Purser De Jour
( CD girl) for our shows.  Job consists of looking good and holding the CDs up for folks to buy while we are playing. Benefits include free entry into the Fri Pirate Ball and other venues and getting to hang out with us ( debatable benefit, but thats what we got).  One could easily pay the expenses by only a few hours work.

Send e-mail to wrench13@aol.com if interested.

lookin' forward to seeing all o' ye there!  And to add to the mayhem, I'll be celebratin' me birthday on Sunday.

For those o' ye who were there last year, I got a pub crawl pass as a present.  Someone asked the E.D., "What idiot gave her a pub crawl pass for her birthday?"  E.D. answered, "Ummmm, that would be me!"

Will try to be responsible, cause I still gots me job to do!  (Don't forget me rum party on Saturday!)

John Levique Pirate Days marks the official return of Matt Worsham to For Love or Money, making us a trio for the first time! You're going to love the new sound! Jen, Matt, and Dave will be there Friday night at the big party, as well as on Saturday & Sunday all day, wandering and putting music wherever it isn't!  If it storms, listen for us in the bars, parking garage, or stores that beckon us in from the rain.

And we will not miss Anne Bonny's Rum Party on Saturday... especially if someone can remind us RIGHT BEFORE THE PARTY.

Just an FYI (and it may be the wine talking...) If you have a question or a concern about WHY I didn't go, address ME with it instead of making assumptions... It was about the PRINCIPLE of things.

Believe me, I WANTED to be there and was super bummed that I wasn't. No one told me I couldn't go.  *I* made the choice.  Again, on principle.

Regardless of reasons (and I know why), it stunk not having you there.
I missed gettign my hug and megawatt smile.

although we are missing about 500 or so that didn't copy correctly from Sunday @3:30 in the afternoon.
Apparently,  you can experience the whole weekend with the 7100 pictures i took.

Thanks to all who said howdy to us ( The Brigands) from the board! We had a great time - met some new folks, jammed with some fine musicians. Sweated our paychecks off. For anyone who wanted to purchase one of our CDs but were unable to, please visit our website ,  thebrigands.com  where all 5 of them can be bought direct.

Lady Rebecca, did we meet your expectations?

Also, talks have begun on performing for the St Augustine Pirate festival and a few other venues in Florida!  Might just become our favorite away state!

Anywho, thanks again for showing these out-of-state pirates what good fellowship and commraderie is all about!
