Title: Montreal
Post by: Lady Kett on April 13, 2010, 09:06:58 PM
We are considering a vacation in Montreal. Are there an Faires or Festivals in Montreal or Quebec which we might plan our vacation around? The one time I was in Montreal on business and snuck in some sightseeing on a Saturday, there was a village of sorts set up by the (old?) docks - sort of a French / Indian thing - it was in (I think) April a few years ago and I've never really been able to figure out if it was a regular occurrence or a one time thing we accidentally, and fortuitously,  discovered.

Many thanks in advance!

Not a faire, but if you are looking for faire related, I could spend an entire day.

It pains me to give away one of my most treasured secrets, but you might want to have a look at a store that I found in Quebec called "Dracolite".  It is out of this world.  The stuff is pricey, but very high quality but not necessarily historically accurate, if that is your thing.  They sell clothing, jewellery, weapons, and even furniture, light fixtures.

Check out their website, although it does not do the store justice.  This is the link to the english version.

There are (or were) several store locations.  I wish they would open one in Toronto.
