Title: Turnback advice needed
Post by: DonaCatalina on April 18, 2010, 01:10:37 PM
Ok here's the deal;
I haven't made a Henrician/French gown in 15 years. The turnbacks are the same fabric as the body of the dress
(ala Marie D'Assigny)
But the fabric is still very heavy.
What would be the best method of keeping the turnbacks where they are supposed to be?
Safety Pins?
Brooches?
Sewing it in place?

Dona!!

Here's an example of a Tudor Gown Lynn McMasters did using jeweled Buttons or Ouches, as a way to turn back Tudor Sleeves. I am going to do this for a Tudor gown I will be doing for Lady DeLaney

Hope this  gives you a good idea.
