The dates are already up on the site:
February 26th - April 10th
I'm so glad they put things back from the last weekend of February through April.
So, when do we start planning again??? :)
Exciting. Seven weeks... not eight... I can count today.
Yippee, maybe we will not have to go all bundled up next year! That was my big bummer over the dates this year. don't get me wrong, I do love my capes. I would just rather have my garb seen and not covered up b/c I'm freezing my buns off =)
The one thing I do like about it being a bit earlier is that there were hardly any days that I actually had sweat coming down my face.. OH WAIT! I DON'T SWEAT!!!! LOL!!! ::)

Ladies don't sweat... they glisten. Candy just doesn't sweat, that's why she's full of hot air... wait, what? :-P
Hehe.. okay.. so you're jealous!! But it is odd..
Never in my life have I 'glistened' !!! LOL!
Glad to see the new schedule so early! :)

Certainly puts an end to nasty rumours of the faire's cancellation!
This makes me happy. Is it February yet? :D
Less than 10 months, lol.
Someone got a countdown ticker? :D
Bishop, it wouldn't ben renfaire without a little rumour. Have you seen the "Alls Faire" clips? :D

I had a blast this year and we really put those cloaks to good use! ;D
But the later dates gives us more sun and warmth!

Hopefully next year won't be so "off" and we'll have lots of out-of-state visitors! I'm ready for this weekend for just a teensy bit of pirating to hold me over! ;)
I think we need to schedule a monthly pirate get together to last us until Faire comes 'round again ;D
And I have a feeling St Molden's next year will be bigger and better than ever!
Already saving my pennies!! ;D
Shall we start planning for a weekend in March? LOL

Umm, hello Harbinger and Clan M'Crack. Join both the groups on FB because that is where events will be planned! :)
2011 BARF dates can't come soon enough.
2011 will be the first season in a LONG time that I won't have to run a child to soccer games, and my wife won't be participating in the bagpipe band, so we were just talking yesterday about being able to make it out more than once or twice in 2011.

I would think that St. Moldens/M'Crack weekend would be the weekend they celebrate St. Paddys. So, normally that
is the weekend before the 17th of March. But who knows.

Hey we just like to be prepared! if we plan now less work to do!

Hey gang, LARF starts here in a few months. It's only 11 hours from Tampa! We got room here at BS Central! It is small and quaint like Lady of the Lakes! Just saying.....

In the 'dane world, they're spelled Quiches and pronounced keeshes.
Well, Molden's DID say 'quickie'.

I'm sorry the whole thing escalated into a "war" in your minds. It wasn't in mine. I was trying to get through to you. I really have always wanted peace, though I often lash out when my feelings are hurt. I would never, though, waste a moment of faire time making fun of someone.
For the sake of peace..a slight modification
Can we please just let this rest?
The pins were a lighthearted gift from a friend and nothing more.
I'm just replying to your post WW. My opinion. Different from yours. I find it unkind and would not have accepted such a gift. No worries though. I'm sure those who wear them get alot of pleasure from the thought and I get much pleasure from knowing I don''t fit in with that. :)
Now back to topic, shall we? ;)
Give it a rest already!!!!!!!!
Moving on....
So, about those dates...

February 26th - April 10th
So Muffin, can we assume we'll see you and Bacardi here this year, or just passing through?
Didn't know it was a prerequisite, but yes anything is possible!
Umm..it was question....nothing more. I assumed you might as it's so cold in MN that time of year and so nice here, and you have so many friends here. Perhaps we'll meet or butt heads or something one day. :D
Okay, I need to say something, here, and then I will bow out. Anna, apparently I owe you an apology, and I would like to say that I am very sorry if I offended your delicate sensibilities. I have a tendency to believe that there is nothing so bad that you can't find some way to laugh at it, and there are some things so bad that you have to. As we have never met, it certainly was not on any kind of personal vendetta against you. I just saw a situation that seemed so ludicrous, and became so blown out of proportion, that it made everyone uncomfortable. And when something makes me uncomfortable, I personally have a tendency to respond with humor. I am so sorry that my reaction hurt your feelings, and believe me that was never my intent. As I said, we have never met, so I certainly have nothing against you. Actually, I think that, if we ever did meet, I would probably like you very much, but somehow, I don't think you would be terribly receptive to that idea, and that is all right, too.
Anyway, I am not trying to start anything here. I am trying to finish it. I think that everyone has suffered enough over the quiche, which was delicious, by the way. Obviously, my sense of humor and I overstepped our bounds, but Anna, you do have my sincere apologies, and now, I hope we can let the subject rest. It is so yesterday, and I'm sure that everyone has much more important issues in their lives to concern themselves with. I wish you nothing but the best.
Peddlin
I have to say one thing--
The quiche did rock if I do say so myself! :D
Thank you, Paula Deen!

I'll drop this in a sec, but I do want to address your thoughts Peddlin, and I do appreciate your giving them here. I like things nice and out in the open so long as it's civil.
No we've not met, and you are very wrong that I'd not be receptive to meeting you. I've heard nice things about you from mutual friends. I do get the humor here, I have a large one myself. I don't know, perhaps had I been to faire that morning I'd have been offered a pin as well, and perhaps I should lighten up a bit and just laugh it off. I do get how rediculous we all acted. I just feel that a pin to commemorate the unhappy event never allows the situation to really heal.
Well, anyway, appreciate your thoughts and I apologise for assuming it was something meant to be slightly unpleasant.
Apologies for the thread jack all, but this thread has it's own mind anyway at this point. Subject now dropped.
Whoops, Sorry there WW. I hid you Quiche post with my new page. I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to try the Quiche as I heard it was good and I do like Quiche when it's made well. Maybe next year
Oh, please, by all means, don't fret yourself over it.
So, Kate---I think a trip to New Orleans would do us a world of good!
Well...I wasn't crying into my pillow. :D
Thank you, Anna, and I assure you that you would have been offered the first pin.
;)
new orleans?? what is this talk of new orleans??
And Wenchie -
I'm considering taking a week of timeshare in New Orleans. Maybe we should call for a gathering?

Doing a little tomb-graffiti?
Meet you at midnight with the absinthe!
And the day-old beignets. :D
It's a date, love! :-* :D
*Screams at the top of her lungs*
Ahh, much better.
New Orleans? Yes! I think our lovely group could cause a WORLD of trouble wandering down Bourbon Street....
Actually, this thought kind of terrifies me. M'Cracks, Harbingers, BARFers... Dear God, we could just call our trip Katrina Part Deux because the damage would most likely be substantial!
Assuming things are the same as this year, Shamrocks and Shenannigan's weekend should be March 12-13...
So, who's gonna be there? Will this be our St. Molden's/M'Crack Invasion weekend?
Let's get to planning instead of making everyone want to throw their computer monitor at the wall (...oh, that was just me, then?)....
*raises hand*
Seamus and I will organize tailgate again!
Nice of me to volunteer Seamus. ;)
Wonder if I can keep beignets warm...
You know I'll be there! Can't miss out on the best invasion around!
Screaming and throwing monitors like that only makes you look like a crazy b!tch Kate. :D If folks said what was on their mind this would be a much healthier world. Get it out in the open. You know? I'm talking to the wall here I know.
It's too soon for me to get serious about next years faire, and as Peddlin' says I've got better things to do, but I'll be around.

I don't think you can ever start planning anything too early. I've been planning my world domination since 1982!
Om nom nom.... beignets. Someone has to have one of those regular plugs in their vehichle into which we could plug a deep fryer!
You know, I've been CRAVING a mimosa somethin' fierce lately... Random Saturday tailgate? When's your next weekend off, Wenchie??? LOL
Man, I miss you guys so much. No one can do a tailgate like my Florida peeps. Best biscuits and quiche I ever had! *Gives Wenchie and Katie big 'ole bear hugs*
Edited to add: Did someone say MIMOSA? ;D
Kate, if we have tailgate every weekend like last season, it should go pretty smoothly.
I just think that (not to step on anyones toes) on the weekly tailgates that if you never
bring, you shouldn't expect to participate. Okay.. did I make anyone mad? If so, you
might be a guilty party. We did have a wonderful group that did bring and we want
to thank you kindly! Yummy! Just thinking about all that yummy food, and drink!!!
*love you, mean it!*
LADY D, I soo agree with if you want to participate you must bring something! even if its just plates or paper towles or even TRASH BAGS! to add for the supplies for each weekend. enough free loaders ;)
*starts searching the internets for a rubber liner for Kate's trunk, a way to run a direct line to Dunkin'Donuts drive through window, and a double pack of eyeliner glue*
I'm thinking that I'm gonna ask Katie to help me learn to wear the eyelashes. She'll need her concentration on something other than all the gunk that keeps getting in the trunk carpet; I'll need a vast supply of coffee; and I figure that, with enough glue, we can rule the world.

And I'd be happy to teach you how to wear eyelashes! We can have practice at JLD if you want! :) The key is to drink a lot so they don't irritate you!

That's really just being reasonable. I'd've preferred to make something for each time we went, but since we were staying in a hotel the second weekend were out, we just brought paper towels and stuff and left them. It's not so hard that you can't expect people to chip in.
Now I just need to find a way to keep cinammon-raisin foccaccia warm on the way from Sanford to Tampa when it's 32 degrees out.
Yes! We loved having you guys at tailgate! Paper towels, cups (for those who don't like mimosas from their mugs), plates, forks, anything!
Contributing something is awesome.
Contributing nothing = fail.
Wait! I'm still sitting at Cafe du Monde, enjoying my cafe au lait and beignets, before heading off to Marie Laveau's tomb! I think I dropped my doll the last time I was there.

I'm good for liquor and pastries of some sort for next year.
And I always had plenty of fruit and mimosa on hand! But yes, if everyone brought something, that would be lovely and more money in all of our pockets as I know I bought a bit extra at times to make sure there was enough for everyone. I know Katie spent half a fortune in champagne and sausage biscuits and gravy alone!
I can certainly attest to the delicious tailgate offerings from this crew! My weekend there, each day started with something delicious! You all rock! When you make it to MN, I'll happily recipricate with some Welsh Rarebit. :D

Why not? Let's do it!
Don't know if we can make BARF next year, but Louisiana sounds intriguing. Is there a thread where we can discuss more, so as to not hijack this thread?
Oh, and this was the first tailgate Steve and I had ever attended at faire, and we were blown away both days. The quiche & biscuits were delish, and though I never got a Mimosa, I did drink a Mudslide on Saturday (not the Molotov type!), and I think I even gave Leinad a hug on Sunday for that wonderful Dunkin Donuts coffee, which we can't get up here in the Galena area. Thank you to everyone for making that weekend so great.

Wait a minute, I stopped reading there ... YOU NEVER GOT A MIMOSA?
I'm sorry. We failed you.
Thanks, Kate, it was great to meet you, too. Iain, no,no, no, you didn't fail me! Kahlua is my favorite in the world, so since my drinking is limited due to my kidney transplant, I chose the Mudslide.
But there's always next time......... ;)
And the next mudslide (molotov or not!).
We love you, Renee!
Okay.. so not once were my breakfast burritos mentioned. Hmm.. maybe I need to think of something else to make?

Hopefully I will no longer be a diabetic next year and can enjoy samples of everyone's wonderful cooking skills. My last count was 120 and 110 is the high norm, so I'm sure I can get way below that with the rate I'm going! Huzzah to cutting sugar, starches, and flour out of my diet! ;D

Too bad our entire tailgate consists of those three things! :-P
My hats off to you Esperanza. That's tough to do. Maybe just a bite or two wouldn't hurt and then..maybe a fresh fruit bowl would be a nice addition to the table.
If I can make it next year I'll bring something like that. While it is a lot early for me to even say I'll be there and I'll need to be reminded what the heck I've said today, I'll try to make it and I'm sorry I threw a snit earlier. Some people dance with wolves. I stand with fist. :-[ Ah well.

Not god-awful.. strong, yes! I actually had to stay away from the mimosas and other various beverages because I found out the hard way (falling down a flight of stairs) I can't do it!! ME!! LOL!!

Lady D, don't underestimate your cooking skills. There WEREN't any burritos by the time we got there, so everyone else must have enjoyed them! Next time we come back, we'll try not to be sleepyheads (hey, it was our vacation!) and get to the tailgate early enough to have some! ;D
Edited: Wait! Wait! I didn't eve see any muffins.......
We need to make it back to BARF for a culinary feast, besides seeing such wonderful friends again. I certainly want another quickie, too.

Yeah, well...faire is like a bakery. Sometimes you have to get through all that gooey stuff to find what makes your mouth pucker and your inner self go "Mmmmm!"

Thanks to everyone who organized those tailgates. Even though I could only stop by (as I had to get in to set up our booth) I loved seeing everyone first thing and Thanks to Lady D for always putting something warm in me gullet! Will have to bring a dish for you all next season!
Two Gentlemen of Fortune have been asked back for 2011 so we will once again be there.
*sneaks in* HELLO EVERYBODY!!!!
Ahhh, now that I caught up!!!! YAY! no more early feb crap freeze my bloomers off faire!!!
If i can get someone out the door on time, I should be out to tailgate, with monkey bread and some other treats.
BUT YAY!!!! I miss faire!!! Miss you guys!!! I'll try to hop on my often!
Yay, Chrissy! I'm so excited for faire next year! And tailgates will once again be epic. Monkeybread = win! :)
Personally, I can't wait for a whole new season! Time to start scheming up a whole 'nother MCrack weekend...... 8)

Jack, having you in Florida makes the Sunshine State even more sunhiney!
Can't wait to see you again next year!
Can't wait to see you either, sweetie! Plus, I have to show off my new Willing Soles boots. They're Wenchie-approved! ;)
SHOES!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Those awesome bucket boots that I saw this past season?
WANT! ;)
I want shoes.
I want them NOW!
*pouty lip*
Those are the ones, Seamus! I wore them all over TNRF for two days straight, no break-in required. They're fantastic!
I would be tempted to get those, rather than a coupla other models I've seen. The fit and finish are the highest quality, and they look different than the rest.
I highly recommend them, and not just because I get to sell them at MNRF this year. They're every bit as comfortable as my custom-made boots, and the workmanship and quality are the best. Very adjustable, so it's like they're custom boots in the end. All in all ,they're a great value!
Can haz shoes?
Nickie and Willin have LOTS of kewl new styles... ;)
For Heaven's sake, Jack! Don't encourage her! ;)
SHOES!
But Daddy, I want them NOW!

Of course, hopefully temperatures won't be about freezing for opening day this year. If not for sunny spots to stand in and hot coffee, I would not have survived that!
If we're able to make it to any of the days (there's something medical going on right now that we're hoping doesn't render me incapable of walking for long periods of time for the next few months...) I'll be bringing a thermos of coffee...if everyone is cool with that...
Almost there!!!! Less than a week!!!
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! ;D
Oh, and Jade Sapphire Emerald, I had a foot sawed off, once, so I can walk for long distances or long periods of time. You can always hang out with me.
Well my knee is doing better, but we've figured out that it's something genetic with the women in my family. For no apparent reason, in the ages of the early 20's to late 30's, our kness just give out and start to hurt! It can last for up to two months at a time, but lucky me, it only lasted a week and a half...for now...
We'll be missing this first weekend due to bronchitis...we're on the mend, but since it's only opening weekend, we figure we'll take it easy and let our meds finish their job without aggitation from dust and pollen...
Can't wait to meet everyone the second weekend though! XD

Oh, I'm gonna need to hear this story. Did it involve TJ, Guinness, and a stubbed toe?
I thought you knew all of that, but I guess I think my hobbling around is obvious. Maybe it doesn't look as bad as I thought. I spent 3 1/2 years in a wheelchair, so I feel very fortunate to even be semi-mobile. I will tell you about it, when we get there.
FYI.... Things from Rings booth has a NEW BETTER location. We are in front of the washing well stage.... right in front of the bungie jump...... outside circle..... out of the trees in the dead zone.
Are we going to try to shoot for a morning meet m greet..... or an afternoon ... giggle
morning and afternoon, some of us will have forgotten people by then me thinks ;)
