I have come to trust your posts regarding beer so much, that when I saw the topic, while waiting for the window to open (at the beach with very slow connectivity) I thought... oh, perhaps he doesn't know about dogfishheads 31% - but no! 41% Ye Gads!
But even better, I hadn't seen the spitfire ad from 1999 - that gave hubby and I a good laugh. Thanks Sir William.
We picked up some oskar blues Gordon and really like it.... you tried it? Any other great suggestions for our upcoming visit back to Capital Ale?

Dogfishheads 31%
Mercy 31% I was unaware DogHead had such a brewed concoction?! I know they have the 120 IPA and that used to be 20 abv and they lowered it to 18% because they found that it had a lot better balance. Then theirs Sammy Adams "Utopia" at 27% and at $150-300.00 for a 24oz bottle/kettle its going to be awhile before drink any ;) But 31%...WOW!
I have really carpy access, but go to dogfishalehouse.com and noodle around. I read it on their site before visiting, something along the lines of eiswein (spelling?) style beers, but to be honest, when I tried to have that conversation with the manager at the pub, he didn't know anything about it. So, I will admit, I am old and forgetful, perhaps I didn't really read it?
I absolutely love their Palo Santos -and even at 18% it tastes just fine - but I really wish they wouldn't over alcohol beers. I really enjoy drinking them and when they are that high I get stupid way too soon.
