I've wanted a new bodice for years, but I'm not exactly a "well experienced" seamstress. So naturally, the task was daunting for me. I wanted my new bodice to be perfect. After I chose the pattern, and the fabric, I researched... asked questions... ;) I did everything right.
My first attempt: All day I kept thinking there was just something wrong with the fabric I had selected, but couldn't figure out what. When my hubby got home, (in his tactful way) told me what the problem was. My bodice looked like those little vest things they put on monkeys. :o :-\ He was right.
Luckily I had some really nice fabric left over from a previous project, and... what luck... I had just enough to make my bodice! ;D It took me all day, and I had to rip a lot of seams, and re-do each step, but all I have left to do now is put in the grommets. I'm so excited!! This was my first project with out "hands-on" help.
On that note: I'd like to thank all of you for your various postings. The research I had done... I spent HOURS on this thread, reading every post and taking notes.
If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would, but I've never had any luck with that.
Oh congrats on your bodice. Cant wait to see a picture of it.
Congratulations- can't wait to see the pics even if its just a link to the pic.
Congratulations on your sewing triumph!!!
Woo-hoo!!! I am thrilled with *every* bodice I make, and I was overjoyed by my first really good one.

HUZZAH!!!
(And someone here would be happy to help you figure out how to post pix. Is it a matter of getting them from the camera to the computer, from the computer to the Internet, or from the Internet to the message board?)
Okay, lets try this. I created a new photo album on my Facebook page. Hopefully this link will show the pictures: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=52783&id=1071097428&l=d252df10cc (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=52783&id=1071097428&l=d252df10cc)
Oh, well done! Love that fabric!
I would love to have that fabric....oooh
You did a good job centering the fabric pattern.

Mighty lovely. Great job.
I got the fabric from Walmart (of all places). Even though I bought my fabric a couple years ago, I have still seen it there, and in different colors too.
Just a tip for those of you who commented on the fabric. ;)
And thank you DonaCatalina for posting the picture here on this thread.
