3 MONTHS AND 3 DAYS UNTIL MIRF 2010!!!!
HUZZAH!
Never to early to start a count down..we have ours started for BARF in 2011 already. COUNT AWAY!!!!
Of course not!!!
At long last...after a 2 year absence, Dwyn and I will FINALLY return! We've missed you guys so much!!
((HUGS))
Capt. Morgan
It's under 100 days... I'd say you're a little late, if anything! ;) :D
I am so excited! I can't wait to buy my outfit! I'm using some of the money from my graduation party to get it. :D Glad my mother understands my obsession!

Has it been two years? It doesn't seem that long because I came to see you two at GLRF last year. It will be great to have you both there again! Do you know what weekend you'll be making it to MIRF?
Lady Ann Bowman
2 MONTHS AND 27 DAYS!!
Capt Morgan, so happy to hear you guys will be heading our way again this year. Huzzah!!!
I am looking forward to another great season! I need new garb though and lack the ambition to get sewing on anything for myself. Also the fall means that it's time for my hubby to leave again, but at least we'll have about a month of faire to enjoy together before he goes. If time, and training schedule, allows.
I can't believe that says MIRF is less than three months away...weeee!!!
Captain Morgan and Dwyn time sure flies it will be good to see you at MIRF again. We will most likely meet up at GLMF the end of July. Carl and Donna
HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to go with my financial aid money and sans adults this year ;D
Oh man!!! Was getting all geeked up for MIRF to start and now it doesn't look like I'll make opening weekend. One of these days the military will stop making plans for me, when I already have plans. Seriously though, supporting my hubby is where I want to be. Better believe I'll be there the second weekend though!!!

Counting the days until we meet. Hopefully this year we will be spared the deluge of rain and somewhat overbearing temps of last year...but it matters not the weather when one is with friends! ;)
57 DAYS TO MIRF!!!
When will everyone be at MIRF? As I have said, my husband is being deployed this fall. And that will play a major part in my faire schedule. But I do know that we will be there the second weekend for sure. Going to do everything I can to be there at least one day over Labor Day weekend. I am also pretty sure I'll be there the last two weekends. Anything inbetween there is up in the air. How about you?
I'll be there as much has I can until I find a new job. ;D

Sir Morgan and I will be there Sunday, Sept. 26th (definite) to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We may try (try is the keyword here) to get there on Saturday, Sept. 25th. as well.... We're driving in from Iowa and may not get there until real late Friday or in the wee hours of the morning Saturday. Most likely we'll only be there on Sunday.
We'll be there every weekend. :)
The Ladywife and I are trying to make it up for opening weekend. If those plans fall through we will have to wait until Labor day to make it up there. Can't wait to visit our home away from home faire and spend time amongst some of the best rennies we have ever met!
41 days by my candler
weeeeeeeee!!!!!
It's certainly closing in, and while I'm eagerly awaiting another run, it also means that summer will be waning, so it's a mixed feeling for me. Last year I got a season pass for the first time, I plan to do the same this time around. Totally worth it, and I got to be there at least one day nearly every weekend. Hope to do even better this year!
34 days now , we are unable to be there for opening weekend but will be there the next!
26 DAYS UNTIL MIRF OPENS!!!
We won't be there opening weekend either but will be the second weekend. My hubby will be throwing in the Highland Games on that saturday as well.
:o :o HOW MANY DAYS?!? :o :o
Seems like only yesterday I had months and months to sew! I'd better gear up and get crackin!
In case anyone might be interested.... they might want to drop by the Gypsy Meadow (on the 'sunny side' of the Castle) this year, and they might encounter....something new.... something different.
....you know... I'm just sayin.... Hollygrove is quite the tourist draw, see. Lots of people from far off lands have converged for the Festival. And I'm not just referring to Vikings, Tribal Dancers, and Vulgarians.
Cosmopolitan, Hollygrove is. Capishe?
Ciao!
19 days and one more paycheck before opening weekend. I think it is time to beg for more hours.
We were fortunate to see several of the MIRF regulars at GLMF and had a great time. Can't wait for opening day in just over two weeks!
I can't wait to get back to the faires. Our kids are pretty excited for MIRF to start this year too.
Jon.
I'm bouncing off the walls in anticipation because I just got confirmation that my sister from Boston will be here with her son for opening day. It'll be their first faire ever, and I can't wait, now!
Let's see...what are we down to? 15 days? I am so excited for a new MIRF season weeeeee!!!
I'll be there with my new show. :) Pretty excited about that!

I'll be there with my new show. :) Pretty excited about that!
Cool! What stage will you guys be on?

I'll be there with my new show. :) Pretty excited about that!
YaY!!! I couldn't make it out to see you guys at Silverleaf. I'm so excited now, even though you won't be with Bocca :-(
Aww you guys are awesome. We'll be on Igor's Roost (I believe that's Ample and Trite's stage), and doing the Feast. At least, that's the plan now. :)
Yup, thats Ample and Trites stage. Or at least, it has been in previous years.
weather.com is showing sunny for the 21st and 78 degrees! Sounds like good opening day weather to me. :)
I can't wait it'll be like walking home. I'm looking forward to the beer tasting and wine tastings evry weekend this year. Kevin and Piperrose, what is the name of your new act? And Kevin are you the original man-whore from Bocca-Musica? I also enjoy the new and old shows. I just can't wait for this year. One week from this Saturday it's hard to believe. Bittersweet really the faire a signal to summer's ending, but also a signal to the harvest and fine feasting and drinking and merrymaking ahead.
We're the Village Idiots. And yes, I was the original Manwhore from Bocca. ;-)
unable to be there opening day :( but Will be there the next weekend , can't wait to see every ones pictures!
Kate can't make opening day but I'll be there, we'll both be there Sunday and most of the other weekends.
While we're talking stages and such, I'll be there opening day with my sister and her 8 year-old son. They're both renfaire newbies, so besides the joust for my nephew, what would you recommend for newcomers? My sister's a good singer, so I'm planning on Bocca and Gutterpups, maybe Ample and Trite, too!
Check out the Village Idiots too! While we're doing some traditional songs, all are original arrangements with tight harmonies. Plus, we're slightly entertaining...but only slightly.
Oh I was planning on catching you guys too, you can be sure of that! Are you planning on being part of the pub sing? I think my sister would like that.
Yeah, we'll be at pub sing! Probably catch us in the lane a few times too.
Thansk for the info. I thought I caught just a few moments of one of your acts last year, when they squeezed you guys in for a preview, what I saw was promising, so I'll check you all out. Always look forward to new shows.
Kevin, it's a shame that you will no longer be with Bocca, but I am relieved that you will still be performing at MiRF. The wife and I will have to be sure to make your new act's show. We wish you luck!
To Kevin, the rest of the Idiots, and all my lovely friends on R/F:
Stop by the topside of the Castle, next to the garden, and say Buon Giorno to Calliope and Bianca, the Lovely Ladies at Carnevale della Muse.
They're new characters this year, and would love to meet you! :D
5 days and counting!! ;D
4 DAYS AND 12 HOURS UNTIL MIRF OPENS!!!
Nefarious you may want to check out Ric Roc, and The Buckle and Swash show, those are just few of my favorites, but really all the acts I've seen I can't say I've seen one I that I couldn't enjoy. There are just too many to list, but I'd suggest these two for kids. They're good shows not even alot of jokes that are made to go over little kids heads to make them question stuff later.
Oh yeah! I'd almost forgotten about Ric Roc! I always catch his show at Silverleaf but often seem to miss his gig at Holly (Which should be a serious crime in all states) so I'll have to make sure I catch him. I think my nephew would get a real kick out of his show.
We will be there Sunday, but will miss opening day once again this year. Seems there is always an event that comes between us and opening day. Next year, opening day, no one is allowed to get married, have a baby, have surgery, or die! Looking forward to seeing everyone again....we have been to many other faires, but there is no place like home....
giggle.....giggle....... The village of Hollygrove is coming alive...... the fresh paint everywhere...... the beautiful flowers.... the last minute preparations becoming final... ooooo sooooooo exciting!!! Can't wait for opening cannon 'cause We know we get to see friends that have been missed!!
HUZZAH to the new season!! 8)
Yeah, Nefarious especially see Ric Roc's the dumb show, because it's quite different. I won't be there opening day. I have to sell a bunch of my old collectible toys at a garage sale, so I hope I get some dough to spend on more renfest stuff, such as swords, and drinking vessels, and I'm also dabbling wih the idea of collecting old west stuff. I've always liked that period of history, but never bought any lasting collectibles. When I was a child I had cap guns, but they don't look as nearly as good as a replica firearm. And I don't really need real firing blackpowder civil war pistols or old west revolvers. In this day in age get semi-auto or auto. But, next weekend I should be there.
I fear that my personal coutdown too must be lenghtened. Traveling to our home away from home faire just will not work with the demands of work (da*m mundania!) for the opening weekend. Thankfully we were able to see a number of MIRF friends this year at GLMF and I belive there will be a nice representation from here to reciprocate on Labor day weekend. I hope we are able to see you all before that and we look forward to meeting even more of you all personally.
OMG! It seems to have snuck up on me. There is so much to do to prepare and alas I must work all day tomorrow meaning last minute packing for me. Still completely worth it.
It's kinda of good I'm not going opening weekend. I don't really have my armor shined up.
WhaaaaHooooo!! Almost opening weekend. I won't be there, but for some reason, just knowing that it's MIRF season again is enough for me. And when we do make it down for the second weekend, it's going to be soooo much fun. I will be starting another thread about that. :)
Since I won't be there this weekend, I would like to wish all the cast, crew, merchants, and musicians a great opening weekend!!!
Sounds like a lot of people are missing opening weekend. :(
If anyone does make it look for the Scottish lady with a black and white sheltie and say hi! :)
Bloody 'ell Dan & Kim ye will be missed but we do look forward to Labor Day weekend then indeed.
As pointed out , it does seem many of ye are missin' this opening weekend - it truly sucks when real life gets in the way of our mischief and mayhem - alas we forge on without ye and look forward ta seein ye during the run of fest!!
yours in piracy,
AMR
Thankful for having a job? Yes. Upset that I have to work every weekend until October? Yes. Calling in on Sunday so I can spend ALL of opening weekend at faire? YES. It's not irresponsible if I find a quick replacement, right? Besides, I've been looking forward to opening weekend since last October so I am set on not letting anything get in the way. So my mirf shenanigans start in T-8 hours. I don't think I'll be able to sleep.
The wife and i will deffently be there on Saturday. Actually, it looks like only saturdays for us this season. As usual, just look for the giant rubber duck.
So the weekend is finally here and I'm so tired. But that's ok because I'm leaving for Holly rec in about 5 minutes. See everyone there and for the rest of you when I get back after a weekend of mayhem and shenanigans!
Three and a half hours!
I got to spend the day there on Saturday, humid as all get-out, but still had a ball. My sister and her son had never been to one before, but are hooked now! thanks to the great people there who made their day as spectacular as I'd hoped it would be!
I do have one question, there was a booth in the courtyard in front of the main gate that took my picture, they said they were having a "most unique" contest, but at the time I didn't think about the fact that they didn't get any contact info. from me or such. Anybody else get their picture take by them? I don't really care about the contest as I go to the festival for the fun and such, but it strikes me as a bit odd now that I think about it.
I had such a great time, I can't wait to head back there, now!
Yes, it was hot and humid on Saturday. But it was still a good day! It was nice to see and talk to everyone again.
Jon.
All in all it was a lovely opening weekend. Can't wait to get back out there. Now I must to attend to my awkward and painful sunburn in the bodice area :(
Finally made it to the weekend after opening and Labor Day. Saw the new Village Idiots show, and they were quite funny. Hollygrove looks nice as usual and all the shows are quite good as usual, but man, the prices for Faygo are ridiculous, you can't even get soda on draft anymore and beer prices whoa. I remember when Guinness was the expensive one at $4 and now all are at $5.75. At least they are craft brews though. Another thing is that some of the foods listed on the program aren't being served, which is bad, because they seemed to have some unique and very tasty offerings this year in addition to the usual foods. Well, enough of my ranting and raving. I just hope the faire will be restored to its former greatness and affordability in the future.
