Uh....There be only 41 days, 10 hrs and 19 mins to cannon shot is heard!!!!!!!

Yes Dayna, as far as I know Bristol has always had a cannon. I believe it's at the back of the faire, by the Royal Court,
to the right of the Cheshire stage.

OK, that one.  I thought you meant a cannon going off to signal faire is open, as opposed to "open wide the gates" and the ringing of bells throughout the site.

Some faires DO set off a cannon, MNRF being one of them, or at least they used to back in the early 2000's

 Bristol HAD one some years ago, but, it was frightening horses at a farm close by.
