I went to NZ a couple weeks ago and one of the guys we stayed with showed us the "secret" video on You tube of him Beta testing a pair of Digilegs leg extintions, better known as "Weta legs". He isnt' a small guy, pushing 250-300 pounds. He is NOT an athletic guy. He says he put them on and with in 5 minutes he was running all over the hills in them. He loved the fact he could even walk backwards in them.
These things are made to be worn as part of costumes/garb. I know many of us on here are performers and lovers of cool garb pieces. They are selling these somewhere, I'm not sure where. Put "Weta legs" or "Weta leg extentions" in your search engine of your choice and the should come up.
I'm not trying to sell them, but I did want to pass the info along to people who would find them really interesting.

Those are awesome.
You can see why, soon as I saw them I could automatically see some one going as a faun, or other mythical creature. Given how we have alot of performers on here I could see them useing them some how.
holy
crap.
Ive wanted to figure out how to do this for SO long- and honestly? the price ISNT bad, considering... I mean, many among us have spent that much on a pair of 10 button boots! wow.
WOW!!!!! I want them. I can now become a dragon. Yeahhhhhhhhh!
BOING!

Our friend said they had been working on them for about 5 years. From the looks of things, it has been well worth the work. I can't wait to see how people end up using them.
Bellebivre: I know how much some of us drop on our garb. The price is not alot compared to some of the pieces I've seen people get (remembers her pirate drooling over a 2K leather pirate's coat at TRF last year). If this is where you want to take our garb, here is a way to do it.
