Title: Wardrobe Accounts/Inventories/Expenses/etc.
Post by: PrincessSara on June 11, 2010, 03:45:12 PM
Does anyone know where I can find wardrobe accounts and the like from the early to mid Tudor period?  I'm mostly looking at noble ladies' things - petticoats, kirtles, gowns, sleeves, everything.

I have Mary Tudor's accounts that Drea Leed put together, but that's about it.  And I don't think Queen Elizabeth's Wardrobe Unlock'd would be too much help since it's from a much later period.

And Tudor Tailors The King's Servants

Both have accounts and inventories.

Hope this helps!

This is a huge work in progress. I've been going through Google book's wills and accounts as a side project when I can't sleep. I will add more to the list when I am back on my regular computer. (I'm on vacation still.)
