OK, so it's almost over.
Let's do; our favorite new this and that. heck, favorite old too.
Fav new stage show: flourish and foole. closely followed by the new whirly jig.
Fav new street: FIREFLICKER (ok, not officially on cast, but I'm callin it anyway.)
has anyone tried the carmel corn on the cob? looks yummy!
I'll take another turn later......
Carmel corn on the cob? That sounds ... odd. And sticky.
I'm going to have to think about best new things ... hmmmm.
I haven't been out to see the new shows but I'd love to see whirly gig!
I'll second FireFlicker, who helps draw people to my booth before the rush!
where does one get this carmel corn on the cob? I rarely get beyond the Rose Stage lol.

main kitchen. top o the hill......
Must investigate!!
For new character, I vote for my little Fairylet daughter....I may be biased tho :D
And I second the vote for new Whirly Jig :D
I'll third the New Whirlyjig. I only wish the Baroness and I had more time to listen.
I wish I had stuff to share...but I literally saw nothing this year, new or old...:( Well, not counting Ded Bob...
I think he got new jokes.... ???
While I do like the new Whirly Jig, I think I have to place my vote for the Saltwater Moonshine Boys. We really like "Sucks to be a Pirate." I'm under strict orders to get a CD from them this weekend.
Best food I've eaten for the first time: Pulled Pork Sandwich. It's amazing what you find when make decisions based on who has the shortest line.
Best new drink that I had for the first time: Hot mulled mead. Mmmmmm.
Best redone rumor that got new life this year: The turkey legs are emu! I have heard it from at least 3 people every time I was out there. (Ok, this has actually been bugging me - emu are over 5 feet tall, the drumstick would be more than a foot long and heavy. These are running animals; lots of muscle in that leg. Emu, while poultry, tastes more like lean beef. And you can in fact buy turkey legs just as big at your local grocery store. Pre-cooked and everything. Really. Done now.)
Best gone but back now shop: That guy that does the elaborate drawings that used to be by Under the Mango Tree - Dave Thompson, I think. I love that guy's stuff!
Best New (to me) Song: Tie between "O Lord Melvin, Please Don't Touch Me!" (I think that's the right name)and "Sucks to be a Pirate"
That's all the categories I can think of now....
Brave Sir Robin ran away.... "no I didn't!"
haha... hear it every day many times a day... then I sing it all week long.

I think he might get some new jokes in 2012. Then I might start believing in that whole "world is going to end" thing.
Caramel Cobs are yummy, they even put a stick in it so you don't have to get sticky.
Bonus for me: I've discovered they sell them sans stick at Murdoch's Ranch Store...so when I'm feeling the off season blues, I can at least have a taste of something that reminds me of faire now.
Best new stage show: Actually I enjoyed the revised Puke and Snot with John. It has a different feel to it.
Best new cast: Seeing Periwinkle back and playing with Fireflicker
Best new shiny: My new 24 oz. Flask (yeah I know big suprise)
Best new drink : The mulled Mead opening weekend -- cause it was HOT.
Best Act - Whirly Jig and the guy from the Castle Rock Symphony that sings to the patrons outside of Miss Charlotte's are tied!
Best Hidden Cast Member - The adorable and fun Orlando Bloom Look-a-Like that was put in the Queen Puppet.
Best New Food and Beverage Employee: Brittany in the Italian Kitchen. She is so sweet and has eyes that express her soul. (not biased... just noticed.)
Best Trick Ever - When Paige (the elephant) ate Rook's tip money. Bill offered to pay him back, but Rook just laughed and said it was funny.
I am greatly entertained by Pickle with his barrel rider, FireFlicker, Isaac the floating boothie, Jesus Christ (yes he attends... I have pictures!) and if you haven't seen the masks down by the mermaid pond... you are missing true art man!
We can verify the JC does attend. We saw him at the joust ---- rooting for Sir Roderick!!!

Off note a bit, we saw JC hawking ale at Minnesota last year :)
"Hey Nunnie Nunnie" gets my vote for best new act! Unfortunately, they were only here in Colorado for 2 weekends. We were fortunate to catch them again the first couple of weeks in July at the Sterling Ren Fest in NY. They're always entertaining and fun!!
I agree, the masks down by the mermaid pond are incredible & definitely worth a peek!
My favorite new food (although not new to the faire, it's just that I finally tried it): rice & beans. yummie!
I really don't have the experience to judge best "new" but I thought FIREFLICKER was fantastic.

Awwwh! Thank you!
I would love to participate in this thread, but being my first year, everything was new and at its best!
Act: Whirly Jig. I love the addition of ShadowCat to it.
Food: Yakitori Chicken. Tried it for the first time closing weekend (Mainly cuz it was closest, then realized we'd been missing a lot over the years)
Hawker: Brother Simon and the Shiney Sign (Yeah, biased... but meh)
Addition to Cast (ish): FireFlicker
**********
Other favorites:
Action Scene: The Bastard Prince Fitzroy showing up to school Skippy (Prince Edward)
Song: The Professor "Snoop Doc" Busting a rap
Stage: "Strapping" (volunteer from audience) picking up and carrying Prince Charming away
Ticketing: The High Lord Sheriff was gving out tickets again (Haven't seen that since the time of Robin Hood)
Weirdness: There was a Rogue (Grimm) who was walking through the rain First weekend, steaming. He kept yelling "I'm on fire!". I think he was the only dry person there (No cloak, no jacket.... Just a gauzy shirt.... and he was STEAMING)
Reconstruction: Demetrius attempting to change the course of mighty rivers, armed only with a pizza peel.
