Title: Illinois Ren Faire - Danville, IL
Post by: Dustin on August 03, 2010, 02:32:51 PM
August 28, 29

Anybody been to this one before or planning to go this year? We're considering a Saturday visit. It's a Henry VIII faire from what I can tell, and my favorite ren band, Merry Measure is performing there. This might be our only chance to see them this year since we won't make Stronghold.  :(

Greetings Dustin,

I and my crew have performed at this festival several times since 2005 and are scheduled to return this year.  It is a soft site festival set in Ellsworth Park in Danville, Illinois - it is a lovely park though a bit tricky to get to due to the one-way streets around it.

We are indeed a Henrican festival.  Here is the website for further information: http://www.illinoisrenfaire.com/index.html

If I can be of any further assistance, please do let me know.

Fair Winds,
Emerald

If you could convince my wife for me....

I'm working on her. I need my faire fix from as many faires as possible.

I will be going for the first time this year. Not sure which day, since it depends on weather and, I have to fill in for someone on one of the days since they are off. I want to check it out since the weekend before that is my last for the Bristol season. I am then going to perform for the three weekend run of the Des Moines Faire in Sept. Hope to see both of you there. Just come up and say hello.

Dustin

I hear you and completely understand the need for a faire fix.  And seeing different faires/festivals of all sizes and locations expands a person's appreciation for the art form, IMHO.

Lord Clisto - I will try to keep my eye out for you as it would be nice to be able to put face to name after the years of AFR and now RF!  I do not yet know what my stage show schedule will be and I probably won't know until I pull in on the 26th.  Here's to seeing you either Saturday or Sunday!  And much good luck on your own upcoming performance at DM!

Thank you Emerald. I look forward to catching up with you. Hope the weather is good. It's a 4.5 hour drive for me.

I shall be there all weekend as my Hey Nonny Nonny Players are performing (comedy, stage combat, comedy did I mention comedy? )  We are doing our interactive: So You Want To Be A Pirate     Show where I will be portraying the cabinboy.  (not my usual Sir Walter Raleigh persona).

Come say hello to me and Grace O'Malley (my wife).
