Fall 2010 Simplicity patterns just came out
I saw the one on the right, and I immediately thought of some of the people on this board who might be interested.

I saw it yesterday... I can't decide if I like it or not... :-\
I think I have truckloads of the apron fabric. Not too crazy about the pattern, though.
neither of the two really does anything for me
now if they came out with a good pattern of the dress Alice wears when she is 'humongous' in the red queen's castle- that I would love. I have lovely dreams about that dress
Huh. Not too bad, but what is with that RUFFLE?! EGAD! Did they dig that up from some 1970s pattern in their archive?! :o
Oooh, but lookie what I found on the same page:

Yes I noticed that pirate coat too. I like the double breasted look. But the "clown" looking Mad Hatter scares me! So not as cute as the movie! :o

That's because it's not Johnny Depp, LOL!
I would actually use the Dicken's tail coat pattern, and just add ruffles to it to get the proper Mad Hatter coat. Yeah it is ok... but not really calling me.
I might get the pattern for alice and the queen just for reference, but if I do an alice it is NOT going to be the that type of Alice.
Egad, the lining in the pirate coat is the same lining I am using for the gold, long doublet.
::) Yeah definitely not Johnny Depp for the Mad Hatter.
When I make my Queen of Hearts, it's going to look as close to HBC's than the SIMPLICITY pattern just out.
so i actually took the time too look at it...a fake split front on the queen and a fake apron on alice, totally not detachable or separate...I've made my decision and it is DO NOT WANT...lol
I wish the new kids Alice in Wonderland pattern came in adult. It's so cute!
But considering I've already made an Alice and a Queen of Hearts (both much better than these) I think I'll pass on this one.
I'm not loving this either. The costumes looks so busy with all the frills and patterns and stuff. As someone else said, it looks like something from the 70s. Granted the 70s is da shiner bock this autumn it might not be so bad... but that is for mundane clothes instead of costumes, right?
Tixi, it's all about sharing. 999 people might loathe a pattern but 1 person might say, AHA! That is just the collar/sleeve/bit that I was looking for. So please continue to share - it's appreciated.
I don't know. I think they might look ok for a costume party or something, if they weren't made of such horrendous fabric! I simply do not understand the choice they made, as those patterns do neither of those dresses any favors.
