I've got a new gig at Fest this year - playing flute in the ensemble for the courtly dance troupe. For that, I'm required to dress as "merchant class." I usually dress as a pirate, and I wanted to keep the same character, so I modified her story to explain her presence at court - she's married to a knight!
So I wanted the garb to look slightly piratical, but acceptable for the troupe. It is acceptable for the troupe - how did I do on the piratical front? Does it have that certain "hint of pirate?" I also have a bag I will carry made from (lined) burlap, that I'm going to sew shells and trinkets and such on to, but it's not done yet.
(The skirt and chemise are new. :) The hat is not new, but will make its Fest debut this year. The bodice is not new.)

I get a small pirate vibe. Not over the top, just enough... =)

She can have a
pirate attitude! ;) :D
Would that be a Pira-tude? :D
Love the new look! Definitely has pirate vibe - like fae said - its not over the top. Good work!
I like the idea of the sea inspired trinkets and things. Think of it as little splashes for things from when she was at sea.
I really love your chemise, where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?
I think your jewelry helps you pull of the pirate vibe, all those bangles you know? And you're belt and weapon help a lot too. I really like it all

Ha, thanks - I actually made my chemise. :) It is from Simplicity 3677, I just used the pattern for the short-sleeved chemise (well, it's really only a blouse) and omitted the lace.
Awesome, great work ;D I shall look up that pattern soon
Will be wonderful to see you and your new "piratitude" this season, Charlotte!
I like it Charlotte! Just the right hint of piratey!
