Title: Scheitholt and Kantele i built
Post by: duffy on August 13, 2010, 10:08:28 AM
The scheitholt is the longer of the instruments and is basically the father of the modern lap dulcimer. It is a traditional German zither. The others are kantele and are zithers of finnish tradition. Now if I could just learn to play something. It must be a curse of a craftsmen. I can build it but I cant play it. The middle one was not finished at the time. I will have to get a pic of it, it was a gift to my mother.

Creating something that beautiful is never a curse.  Just think of it as your talents leaning elsewhere.  lol
