And you wearing them!
Ariel mentioned in another thread about how nicely a good pair of shoes finishes off a Fair look. We've had tons (and tons and tons) of threads on finding footwear... but it occurred to me that you rarely ever actually get to *see* folks' feet in photos--particularly women's if they're normally covered by their skirts.
So this show & tell thread might require you to actually go out and deliberately take a picture of your garb showing your feet, but I think it would be awesome to showcase some Fabulous Fair Footwear!
I definitely don't have pix of my shoes (yet!), but I'll start off with a painting that inspired my current favorite fair shoes. I have a pair of Travelsmith maryjanes that look *just* like the ones shown here:

And here's a nice shot of my brother wearing a pair of Land's End comfort mocs, which give his starter garb a good period effect:

You can see my Museum Replicas moccasin boots pretty well in this shot of me holding whip performer Adam "Crack" Winrich at Bristol this past weekend.

my dream shoes are a custom pair from Catskill, but here is what I am wearing with my gown

Actually, Lady S, I was really hoping to see pictures of people wearing their shoes with their garb, like Dustin posted. We can easily see the shoes on their own in any catalogue, etc, but we hardly ever get to see shoes ON people! :D
My ghillies from Heart & Sole, which I love, love, love!!!

My pirate boots, so old & worn they are now pretty much retired:

These are the shoes I wear with most of my outfits. They're your basic black low top Medieval Moccasins. Yes, I'm in my undergarments in this picture. I obviously couldn't do a fight in my gown, it would get DIRTY!

These are the boots I wore with my pirate outfit until this past fall, when they were destroyed in a rainstorm (it was horribly disgustingly muddy). The ones I have now are basically the same... but they're a little bit taller and they're WATERPROOF!

I wear a black cuffed boot, similar in style to GirlChris's but not quite as nice. :-)
For Munchkin, these Birkenstock-style sandals served well all season. But of course they're already outgrown, so this winter she'll be in a plain moccasin.

Oooh can I use this picture? That is one of my Garland Girls! please please.
Oh you cant see but she is wearing some Native Earth boots too
I finally have a use for this photo I took last year!
Both pairs are medieval moccasins, the silver ones are mine and the brown are on my friend's feet. I have ones just like his but black. as well as the low top closed toe ones in a metallic lilac :) needless to say I'm a fan of medieval moccasins...

I know you can't see my garb in that photo, but i usually wear my silver ones with my usual bellydancer garb which is this...

As for my pirate boots...I can't find any pics from Pirate Invasion weekend this year...so I have no pics right now :(
Just pm'd you, Adriana. Your ladies were so kind to my little one each time we visited!
I bought a pair of shoes from Willing Soles yesterday at the Minnesota Renaissance festival. I am SO glad I did!!!
A simple pair of leather Black on Black Mary Jane style shows with memory foam to nestle and support the feet. After almost 5 hours wearing them, my feet felt FANTASTIC!! I will give them an all day run next weekend.
The BEST pair of shoes for faire i can think of!! A R/F community member I was happy to buy from!!
I shall get you some, but I'm not sure where to post this without posting ANOTHER thread...
What are your fav insoles? Gel or otherwise that REALLLY help. My boots are arriving tomorrow, and shall get everyone pics this weekend. Mine are actually a Carlos Santana creation. Whoda thought?

If I get to faire this year, that will be all I want, for shopping! :)
This is the only photo I could find in my albums where any shoes at all are visible.
Lady Oren made this shoes for his lordship.

Fun thread! :)
While not my faire garb, here is a shot that shows my boots:

They're so versitle. Worn like shown, cuffed above the knee for awesome pirate boots, or uncuffed for fun thigh-high boots!
The soles cracked on them last winter, though, so I don't know if I'm going to be fixing them or replacing them. Hopefully fixing, because they were expensive and I really like them.
I wore my new shoes from Willing Soles I bought at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival last weekend all day on Saturday. My feet felt wonderful!! I cannot explain it. But they did! Well worth the money!!
probably one of my most favorite shoe purchases to date, My friend and I were looking around for some shoes for her to wear she got black ones with just a regular strap around the top of the boot... whereas mine are braided and a little more decorative

They were FANTASTICALLY comfortable, the black ones zip all the way up, the brown ones only zip part way. We wore them all day at MDRF on Saturday and neither of us had tired feet at the end, she has really high arches and will probably get some arch supports for them, but my regular feet were quite happy with them. I can't ask for more from $27 from walmart!
Gem, if you're able and willing to do so, please feel free to post a photo of my shoes in this thread. Thank-you very much!
As requested, here is Butch and his excellent shoes! I'll let him tell you about them! :)

Gem, thank-you very much for posting the pics! These are a pair of my old USMC shoes that I refinished the bottoms to be leather with hobnails, and shorter heels. Also, I cut away the lace areas to have only one lace hole which I threaded with a leather thong.
They are quite comfortable, and are close enough to period for my taste! Sailors wore shoes for the most part, so I wear shoes!

WOW! I never would have guessed! :o
My boots aren't exactly period, but they are fun and piratey. Got 'em from Shiekh Shoes dot com for real cheap and I love them. Boyfriend's shoes are the generic "Renaissance Boots" you can get from pretty much any costume site. I think I nabbed his from renaissance costume dot com. I wasn't about to drop $100+ on shoes for a man who is both picky AND indecisive, lol! Anyway, they do the job.
