Title: tutorials on how to make garlands?
Post by: kala83 on October 12, 2010, 01:06:09 PM
I have been looking for some tutorials or just plain advise on how to make either flowery/leafy, or feathered garlands.
if you all have any tips or links  you could share that would be awesome.
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread if its not please feel free to move it.

Do you mean hair wreath or a boa?  A garland is a long strand of something (Feathers, Flowers, ect).   I'm going to guess this is for a fantasy outfit and not historical?

yes it would be for a fairy outfit terribly sorry for the mis use of the word, I asked the advice of my mother as to what it was and she said it was a garland obviously this is not a good term for the item

Here is what I used for my wedding garland http://www.eleganceinbloom.com/headInstructions.html

Try Googling "head wreath"

Here are several I have used as reference points when making my own head garlands, and those for my daughter and friends:

This one is for a ribbon type one (very simple, I have a ton of these in diff colors to coordinate with my outfits):

And for fresh flowers:

Hope this helps!
