Anyone have news on what children's events are planned? Other than the costume contest and the candy apple eating contest and the banshee screaming contest.
Trick-or-treating at various booths perhaps?
Is there somewhere the times and locations of these events are listed? I know a certain renlet who would love to participate in all 3!!!
Oops, never mind... I just found them on the Entertainment Schedule (http://www.texrenfest.com/entertainment.html) on the TRF website! Thanks for mentioning them, though... they all sound like lots of fun (well, with earplugs, anyway)! :D
All the booths have had candy the last couple years. My kids had little need for going door to door after going booth to booth.
I say this with shame and pride...I could win that banshee contest.
My kiddos will be entering the banshee contest..any one who heard them "practicing" opening weekend in camp mcLot cwill probably agree that their chances are pretty good..lol

Yep they have a shot at it
hope they win
Mine will definitely give them a run for their money... :D
Last year we did a little trick-or-treating in the campground, and several of the camps had candy for the kiddos (and I managed to successfully trick-or-treat for bbq spareribs...).
I've been looking at the Festival Map on the TRF website, and for some reason I can't figure out which stage is the Revels Stage where the Banshee Screeching and Caramel Apple eating will be done. They all seem to be labeled, but either I'm just missing something, or something is missing.

I believe the Revels Stage is just in side the front gate, in front of the shoppe that sells the official steins and mugs. Where the cast does the Royal Decrees, Dance School, and the Theme Events.

It should be a good contest, lol and I too believe the Revel stage is at the main entrance

Thanks, I hope one of them does too
Ahhh... I finally found it. I had to put my reading glasses on to see it, and the label is not even by that little stage in front of the gate... LOL Thanks for the hints!
I'm pretty sure mine will be a bit more excited about the Caramel Apple eating contest, but she enjoys screaming as much as any kid, so it could be a toss-up! ::)
My booth will have candy, as will many others.
Revels stage is the ginormous red wagon to the left after you enter the front gate.
Heya, Mistress of the Revels here!
Ravic is correct, the Revels Stage is the red wagon stage just inside and to the left.
There will be plenty for the kids to do and see, I will be posting a complete list of the weekend's contests and theme events early next week. Also, many of the vendors and artisans typically participate in the trick-or-treating!
I hope you have a CREEPTASTIC time!

Rani, next time try trick or treating for Loki! It's what I do!
LOL I'll keep that in mind, although the ribs were awesome, also! I already have my Loki Route all mapped out, though! I know just who has the flavors I'm wanting to try this year, and where they'll be camping... :P ;) heheh

Well if you're going this weekend... leave some at home!!! LOL I'd love to at least taste it!
