Title: My Art What I do to make ends meet
Post by: Shandi on October 22, 2010, 01:19:09 PM
this started life as a standing draft horse. I cut the head and neck off and resculpted the neck in a arch. I then sculpted the new mane, lions tail, unicorn horn, feathered ankles. I can show a before picture if anyone is interested. I then spent weeks painting him by hand with layer after layer of translucent blues and blacks to achieve that deep color.
Just wanted to share, he took a very long time from start to finish.

Just lovely!  I also took a look at your website the other day, and your other pieces are incredible, as well!  I love the way you've painted them all... so very magical!
