So, I'm working on a Harley Quinn/Jester costume for halloween/faire... I have black stretch pants that I want to wear- but I don't want to permanently sew diamonds onto them because they're my favorites to wear to the gym (read: they make my butt look good)
Do you think that a glue stick will work and then wash out later? Or what would let me not poke holes in the fabric that will come out later?
Pretty much any kind of glue you use will leave marks. I would go to goodwill and find something. That way you can mess it up and you're only out 2 bucks!
WHat about using body tape? The stuff that you can use to help prevent "wardrobe malfunctions" in low cut dresses? I think it's sold at Hancock Fabrics...and probably other fabric stores, or where formal dresses are sold. I know it holds fabric to skin without iritation, and I think it comes off the fabric without leaving much residue.
I've never used this product, (Aleene's Tack It Over and Over) but It seems like a good thing for when you just want a temporary adhesive. I've seen it at craftstores as well as at fabric stores. Might be worth a few bucks to try on a scrap piece of fabric.

that tack it over looks like a great idea :)
Slightly OT, but I'm being Harley Quinn for Halloween, too! Except I'm doing the nurse costume she wears in Arkham Asylum (there's a corset involved. It's pretty).
What about basting spray or glue stick? It holds fairly well for short periods, then washes out. I'm not sure if it will stay for a whole day at faire, but if you're just heading out to a Halloween party it might do.
haha I'm combining the two concepts for arkham and traditional I'll have the red and black colors with the white skirt and the white top under a red and black top with black tights with diamonds underneath and red and black shoes when I find them
