Title: New to the area in January 2011
Post by: Lady Riddle on November 01, 2010, 12:24:06 PM
Hello all!

My name is Erin and I will be moving to Denver, Colorado sometime in January.  I have been involved with the Ohio Renaissance Festival for the past seven years.  I know that with my move I will miss my home and my home festival but I am looking forward to meeting new people and visiting the Colorado Renaissance Festival.

Excited to be moving out West,

Lady Riddle

My parents moved here before I was born to get away from the humidity and allergens in Ohio. It's nice here- especially in winter, compared to most places. The mountains shield us from most of the extremes of winter and make for fairly mild weather, which is nice. You can pick your winter- nice in Denver, or snowy in the mountains! It's great. You'll love it here.

May I be one of the first to bid My Lady welcome to the Shire...

The Baroness and I also bid you welcome, Lady Riddle.

The Colorado Renaissance Festival, which always opens the 2nd Saturday in June, is located in Larkspur, about 10 miles south of the little town of Castle Rock.  Depending upon where in the city of Denver you locate, you will be anywhere from 30 to 90+ minutes from the site.

Please feel free to post any questions you have about the Colorado festival on this forum, and I'm certain that someone will respond.  On occasion, the response will even be correct.  :)

And sincere... as opposed to obnoxious and tongue-in-cheek...

Thank you for your warm welcome!

What is Rendezvous, exactly??

The thing I have heard about Colorado or maybe just Denver and the surrounding area is that you have to drive longer than 20 min to get somewhere, which is just fine with me as I tend to drive all over the state of Ohio right now as it is.  So driving an 60 min to 90 min to get to the festival will be no problem for me.  As I tell my friends "I'm a driver!"

:)

There's a whole Sub-Forum area here for the R/F Rendezvous (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?board=11.0), which is being hosted by the Colorado Ren Fest in 2011.

Y'all have fun now, ya' hear?

Take Care,

Welcome Lady Riddle!

Rendezvous is a gathering of anyone who can make it to the particular host faire - a different faire each year.  This summer on Fourth of July weekend, the Colorado faire will be invaded.

Ahhh, an RF Rendezvous.. that is what I thought though I wasn't sure.  Thanks for explaining.  It's amazing.. I have never been apart of one since I was always on cast for the ORF, but as Queen I was welcome to visit with the RF-ers and those in the surrounding states who come to visit ORF.  Very cool.  I am really looking forwad to 2011.  :)

Are you planning to audition for the CRF cast?  If so, I will be happy to let you know when and where auditions will be held when they open next Spring.
