I had a good chat with one of those ladies over breakfast during Scarby at one of the hotels..poor lass. They were booked to do A-Con shortly after...Steampunk music.....she was highly confused as to how they were going to do that...But hey, press on she said. Such a good group.
That is a great post for that weekend! You'll see why when I post a new thread in a few minutes.

You have a 2001 Triumph, and it doesn't RUN?!? What did you do to it?!? It's practically a baby, for goodness sake!!! I have to admit, though, that I never pictured you on a newer bike... somehow you just seem like you'd WANT to ride one that had seen a bit more of the world than something made in this decade... hell, this century!

Ach, Lass! Take yer Schnauzers for a walk! Lol. Some stiff wire (hidden by some rope) will keep the wee ones off the ground...
overcast skies and rain make for great picture taking weather!
The light is great, there is a much higher percentage of people in garb, and everybody that does show up is intent on having fun.
Aye! I'll drink to that! Scotch of course. Rain or shine- TRF is fine! I'll be there!

How about Scottish mist? ;D :-*
Since the Lady and I are both just getting over that loverly flu bug running around, we would appreciate it being a wee bit on the drier side...especially as we have tickets for "Celtic Thunder" Saturday eve and I was planning on making it an all day Kilt wearin'(just changing from the blousy shirt/fighting jacket/basket-hilt sword, to the Prince Willy formal wear). ;) ;D
If that isn't Celtic overload for one weekend, I don't know what is!!! :o ;D
Remind me to kick his rear next time I see him....even worse than dry cleaning bills are instruments and sound equipment. No to the moisture.....
i looked at the hour by hour forecast on the weather channel site. it 'looks' like most of the rrrr is gonna happen in the wee hours and then lighten up when the sun rises. keeping my fingers crossed! :)
I sure hope so!!

I can see how a weather wimp might see it that way.
For us that know how to have fun, it is a very different story.
It is a day of fantastic light for pictures. My wife can already see how excited I am about the prospect!
It is a great day to wrap your cloak around a young lady, warm her up a little, and make a new friend.
A rain cloak, proper footwear, a few hand warmers, knowing where the best hot chocolate is at, and the right attitude makes rain days a LOT of fun.
I don't feel sorry for the weather wimps at all - They know how to be miserable regardless of the weather.
Thank god I don't have a 3 pound hat with a 2 pound snood this year... if I get wet hair... well I can play with that. need to remember WATERPROOF MASCARA though! lol

I agree. On Roman weekend in years past when all the Queen's Men were wearing were glorified sheets, It was usually a chilly day so I decided that it was 'Warm up a Goddess' day and many a man in a cloak was more than happy to accomodate. It was a great bit.
This time of year starts to winnow out the weak. I can remember at least twice over the years that there were more participants than patrons but by goddess those were some hard core rennies. An inspiration to us all.
When the going gets tough, the tough head for the pub.

I second the motion
good company always results in good time
good company does indeed result in a good time, I agree with that very much. I personally don't care for cold and wet even with good company, I have spent way too much time in that kind of weather and don't care to do it as a constant weather diet, however I have and do continue to visit my friends even in the worst weather at Faire, but to be cold and wet, hmm still sux to be ya'll and wasn't requesting sympathy from a cruit just tellin ya to come join me and have some of this wonderful weather
