Title: Hoop skirts
Post by: broadwaygal24601 on June 07, 2008, 07:41:38 PM
Hello everyone!! Well, school is over, I've had a break, now back to my hobby...and obsession.  So, my ren garb I made for myself and my friend worked out pretty well, but I have some work to do on them.  I'll post pics later (including one with FaireMare if I can get it from my friend's camera! Lol).  I followed tips on making my own hoop skirts and well...it didn't go as well as planned.  I used polyurethan tubing and light weight cotton fabric and it kept dipping in the front and collapsing on the bottom hoop.

What can I do to fix this??  I have to make a really huge hoop skirt for a Giselle (From Enchanted) costume I'm gonna start working on, but I want to fix my hoop skirt for the ren fest in Oct.

Any tips??

You might check out this current thread in Garbing: "Hoop Help Please?" (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=1211.0)

I think it addresses this issue.
