For the heck of it, decided to go on Ebay. Saw it & decided to bid.

Shipping looks high at $19 but the seller said she would refund the difference from the actual charge.
I didn't plan on buying anything, but hey, ya see it, ya like it, go for it!
Congrats, Renee! Nice score, indeed! Can't wait to see you in it at TNRF. ;D
Nice...thats quite a deal :)
That is a score! It's a nice color combination too. ;D
The bodice arrived today. She sent it on Tuesday, & even with Thanksgiving, it got here so quickly.
It is beautiful! And the seller was nice enough to refund some of the shipping. She had originally put $19 for shipping, & I asked her about it, & she said she put it high because she's underestimated shipping a lot of the time, but she would refund the difference, which she did the same day she shipped it.
It is so beautiful. It's in perfect condition, it doesn't even look like it's been worn. I can't wait to wear it. Hurry up spring & faire season! ;D
My friend sewed this skirt for me, to match this Moresca bodice. Which is why there aren't pictures of this before now. I will wear a different chemise, and she is also making me a head circlet with a veil from the skirt material, so I won't wear the green hat either (the feathers sure don't match!), but I put it on for the pictures.

I am wearing a crinoline slip but at faire will wear it with a hoop underneath.

Very nice. :)
Lovely! That color combination is fantastic, too!
Renee, that's gorgeous! I'm totally in love with that skirt, it matches the bodice perfectly!
Beautiful combination! I love Moresca's pieces. They are so creative with mixing fabrics and textures. A skill I just can't seem to wrap my head around. *sigh*
Very beautiful! :)
Lady Renee,
I love that look!
The skirt pattern is beautiful and the bodice is gorgeous,,
I do like that Crinoline Slip...
I'd prefer wearing that rather then a hoop..
Huzzah!
Thank you very much to all of you for the kind compliments. My friend visited this weekend and ended up sewing a 6 inch band of the green fabric underneath the maroon trim on the bottom of the skirt, because you couldn't see it in the pictures, but it really was too short.
It looks great now, and I can't wait to wear it to faire. Hurry up, summer, I want to wear my new garb! :D
No kidding hurry up summer.~
Get rid of this awful weather!
Amen ;D
Renee, is a crinoline slip better to wear under say an Ann Bolyn garb?
Those hoops a real you know what to undo the metal and redo them?
I like that crinoline look! Full but not overly.. ;)

Lady Catharine, I am not the one to ask about anything historically accurate, since everything I own is not accurate at all. I just wear what I like!
But I do like wearing a hoop skirt, or farthingale. Because it is cooler than a crinoline, as the hoops hold the fabric out away from your body. IBut the crinoline is easier to use the privvies. With the hoop, it's the handicap stall or nothing. For me, it depends on what I'm wearing. I prefer wearing the hoop with noble garb & my red Irish dress, but for peasant, pirate, & wench, I don't wear it.
Lady C. A corded petticoat is much more comfortable to wear than a crinoline. It has the benefit of the hoop to keep air flowing under the skirts, but the flow of multi petticoats without the weight.

If it's a hundred or so degrees, definitely too hot in a crinoline, hoop skirt would be a little cooler. But at those temps, not much.
When it's brutal at Bristol in the summer, I go peasant. I bought 2 reversible cotton bodices on Ebay, no boning, nothing, in a size larger than I usually wear. Just to be able to breathe. I wear a plain skirt with my bloomers under it and a short sleeve chemise. Much cooler.
