Post by: Nikita on December 25, 2010, 02:24:46 PM
Can anyone recommend a type to cast a thin mold over a ball and be able to "carve" it after curing is done?

hmmm, what about starting with a plaster ball
to carve on, then making the mold to cast in,
from the plaster ball

the pattern will be more of a negative from removing materials after the casting

You might want to avoid polyester resin as it doesn't fully harden when exposed to air.

Im a little confused,
Do you want your end result to be a solid sphere or a hollow sphere??
That will make a difference.

Hollow and cut-able or rather carvable
