Title: anyone have tips for working with polyester resin?
Post by: justsomeguytn on January 05, 2011, 10:28:32 AM
I made one small batch of pieces, three small cabs and a crystal.  But I think I put in too little catalyst and it's still sticky three days later.  I had tried to keep air out with kling plastic but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.  I've done a new small batch with triple the catalyst I used originally.  I'm waiting for that to set up now.

Ok more catalyst does seem to help as well as coating the exposed surface with clear nail polish once its nearly set.  But I still find myself wishing for better results.  Maybe I should leave it in the mold longer.  Right now I'm leaving it in for about a day.
