Title: Center back seam (kirtle)--reducing bulk?
Post by: gem on January 25, 2011, 10:44:03 PM
I decided that I didn't like the way the back of my kirtle bodice was gaping along the V-neckline, so I added a center back seam so I could take a little tuck at the bottom of the V.  But as I'm stacking the two layers of canvas interlining together, I'm thinking that that's going to be too many layers along the CB seam (lining, canvas, canvas, and jacquard fashion fabric). Should I just trim the canvas SAs way back, or is there a better solution?

Gramercy!

Could you do a flat felled seam on all the inner layers?

Gem, my vote is trim the canvas back.
