Are you ready for a Rocky Mountain RenDezvous!? Faire days are July 2-3 (Theme: Kids Weekend), but there's a lot more out here than faire.
I'll be updating this first post ... so let us know who's coming and where you're from.
For the Colorado faire folk, let me know if you're working the faire, and where, so everyone can find you.
And if you'd like to meet either before or after the faire weekend for some Colorado sightseeing or adventures, mention that too.
... I think that covers everything ...

Lady Nimue and I are planning to invade.
I'll be there and I will not be working the faire. I am semi-local and may be available for events on non-faire days, but it depends on work schedule and whether or not I have moved by that time.
Toki and I plan on being there Saturday. Since we are local. We will just be there
For extra stuff, not real likely as we are 1.5 hours north. Fridays are hard for use to break away for that drive then do it again Saturday morning.
See you there.
The Pink Pirate and I were planning on invading but with the fuzzlet coming in September we are going to have to go to a maybe, leaning towards not. It will all depend on if the doctor will let me out of the area at that point, and when a certain appointment for work hits. Thinking we may have to miss Rendevous saddens us since we enjoyed last years so much. We are certainly going to go next year and bring the fuzzlet along and properly iniciate him/her to rendevous. ;D
Oh! Scally and I will certainly be there for the 4th, as well!!! In fact, we're hoping to spend at least a couple of weeks... :D
My wife, my son, my daughter, and I will be there. Coming from the Kansas City metro. Travelling on the 1st and the 4th. Will be available for events on the 2d and 3d! Staying at the AF Academy.
Current plan is that I'm coming. Technically, I'm invading. May extend my stay for the week following if I can justify the time off work. Will probably be staying in Denver with family.
Edit: Invading from Big Sky Country. (That's Montana)
Count me in! Invading from MN! Woot!
Hmm.. forgot to specify the invading country.... Arkansas...
Working.
Im at shop 13 and anywhere between the shop and the carts.
Updated to here!
Oh ... LadyStitch I was so hoping to meet you! But you have the happiest of excuses.
Blushing we will just have to see what $$ and the fuzzlet say about it. I enjoyed last year so much I really want to go this year, but fuzzlet and my health have to come first.
Also invading from Minnesota! Can't wait to revisit your faire this year!

*clapping*
Can't wait!
i will be there with camera in hand
Well with a line up like that and an invite from the beautiful Blushing how could I not show up!!!! I will be there on Saturday and I hope to have images of all of you to share with everyone. Look for the tall bald guy in (hopefully) a kilt, but will know more on that later, and make sure to get your picture taken by me or one of the other fine photographers who will be attending.
The Baroness and I will again be on cast this season. :D
In State and working..... Face painting booth 553. After entering the Faire turn left at the crossroads. I'm in the gazebo right there! Do stop by and say hi, I will be working but if there is a lull will be happy to visit with you. I will also have favors for all, that alone is reason enough to stop by! ha. ;D
Our choice hotel would be one in the Hilton family. The Hampton Inn in Castle Rock is already full. Can anyone tell me if the Hilton Garden Inn at 9290 South Meridian Boulevard, Englewood, CO is decent and in a safe part of town? Or would the Colorado Springs Hampton be a better choice? The one in Englewood is about half the price... OR is there another hotel in Castle Rock that would be nice? Where are all of the Scarbites booking?
The fact that it's the July 4th weekend might make booking as early as possible an imperative...
Yeah...I thought I'd be okay this far out, but guess not... I'm also checking the bedbug registry :o
i have stayed at this hilton and enjoyed it alot. It is in DTC which stands for denver tech center so mostly business around you. it is about 25 to 30 miles from the faire and just blocks away from the freeway to take you straight to the faire. There is alot of conventions in the marriot right across the street.
I have been done the research in November of last year.......long story. Will not go into it here, but......
Because of the holiday weekend, and Castle Rock having a BBQ/Chili CookOff on this particular weekend also, Hotel Proprietors are only giving 10% discounts which can be had by way of AAA, Military, senior, or an online search. So I beleive it will be best for all to seek their own discounts as they see fit for their budgets.
The Hotels I was keying on were in Castle Rock near amenities, Gas, Grocery, Restaurants including fast food, (Arbys,Subway, McDonalds, Starbucks etc)...... and I am planning for a Meet N Greet at the Rockyard Brewery, off of I25 Exit 184 (Founders/Meadows Parkway exit) *This exit has it all* There are 4 hotel here, and I will start another thread for hotel info I have at the moment.
CaptDungeonSpleen
Updated to here!
Merlin, bedbugs aren't a big issue here ... I believe the worst infestation was found in a Denver public library. Strange but true.
I think he meant as another option for where to stay... ;)
Thanks, Rani, but I was looking for a friend... :P
Thanks for the info, Sir Garath, and Captain, I saw your other thread as well.
I'll be there. Working as I always do. loosely but dedicated. I am a handler for both the smallest and largest entertainers at the show. as my time is not truly my own, I doubt I will participate much in the extras, but will be quite please to meet each of you and chat till my masters drag me off.

As you can see.... his Master does allow for the occassional break between harried romps throughout the faire.
There's no way I would allow my father to invade Colorado without me going to keep him in check!
Tis true.... Merlin and Igraine, along with my 2 munchkin fairies, will be invading CRF from Texas.
HUZZAH ! !
Now... here's some things I will need to know...as will dear old dad.
A) Where is the nearest liquor store from the Comfort Inn Suites in Castle Rock?
B) Where is the nearest liquor store from the Comfort Inn Suites in Castle Rock?
and
3) Where is the meet and greet on Friday and who wants to have dinner?
I will be traveling by coach in Homer, the Odyssey, so I will already be in possession of distilled spirits, of the Tennessee sour mash variety. It's a long drive, but I should still have some left by the time we make Castle Rock. ;) I do believe, however, that in another thread, they spoke of nearby purveyors of fine drinks!
If I am not mistaken, the meet and greet plans are for it to occur at the Rockyard Brewery (exit 184)...I'll have to look at a map to see where that is in relation to the hotel.
Awesome.... it's a 14 hour drive so we opted for air.... someone would certainly be choked out if we all stayed in a car together for 14 hours.
I hope the Comfort Suites has a bar !
I don't think they normally do, but we can build our own... We're traveling sans any wee ones. I drive, and Nim sleeps. It works well. Flying is more hassle than I want to put myself through anymore.
I don't know that the Comfort Suites has a bar but when you step out the front door there is a mega liquor store within walking distance.

I'll be there, I'm instate and staying at the Jellystone campground near the Faire. I will be trying to repel the invaders with noxious spirits called scotch.

Wow. Just checked Google Earth. Rockyard really is within staggering distance. The driveway is across the street from Comfort Suites! And son, the liquor store is a block away. Now don't embarrass me... ;D

Trish and I are booked at the Best Western. Not fancy but it'll do AND it's staggering distance from the Meet-n-Greet! ;D
It will be great to see you MG and Ms Trish again. I'll try not to bring out the big pink fairy this time.
The Baroness and I are looking VERY much forward to seeing you all at the meet and greet. It's shaping up to be a wonderful event.
I won't be coming this year, but I do have the banner that needs to make it to the next RenDezvous group. Someone get with me about shipping or some sort of handoff :D
WarCat, will you be at either Scarby Preview or Opening Weekend? We will be there both weekends (barring any tragedies) and will be driving to RenDezvous. I'd be happy to take care of the transport, if need be.
I don't believe that I'll be going to Scarby at all this season. I mean, it's possible, but not probable.
Well, if no Houstonians are driving to Colorado, if any will be coming to Scarby for opening, maybe they could get with you, then with me... it's an offer, if you don't want to go to the expense and hassle of shipping it.
Will be there!
I'll be going to Scarby on opening weekend and I should be able to take the banner back with me to Colorado, if it isn't too terribly huge. Perhaps some sort of handoff can happen between Blue and someone else who will be going to Scarby and can hand it off to me?
Updated to here! Sorry for the delay ... but I was getting moved back in after being flooded out ... my place FINALLY looks like home again!
Zoe ... I hope you can catch the banner. =)
WarCat ... waaah! You'll be missed.
LOL, you guys won't miss me setting fires, I promise LOL!. I may make it to Scarby once at the end of April. We'll see what we can figure out.
Can I just say.... me and the family unit are really looking forward to traveling to your faire.

Remember that time back in 1850 when you staggered in the street and tried to teleport back to Scotland? Man.... it took us 37 years to find you.

You are correct about the staggering distance thing. If I'm not mistaken the hotel is directly across the street from the restaurant. However this area is right near an outlet shopping mall so there usually IS quite a bit of traffic, so do be careful if you are indeed staggering back to your hotel.
I'm going to pay heed to the warnings about drinking at upper elevations. There's a possibility that our son is going to accompany us on this trip. We're not sure yet.

Just a note for all you from out of state but i would put a sweatshirt or something warmish with your stuff that you are packing because to quote on of my Garland Girls " The weather is bipolar!"
I second Adriana's sentiment. Even in July the weather has a habit of doing whatever it wants. A few 4th-of-Julys ago it rained the entire day and sat in the mid 50s most of the day.
Indeed. Last year was cold and rainy the entire opening weekend. My brother and family from Ohio couldn't be persuaded it was OK to go anyway. Hopefully it will be better when they are here this year.
But then it got better on the 4th of July:

Fortunately that was a pretty freaky occurrence. The remnants of some hurricane, as I recall.
We had this at my booth last 4th of July:
Let's hope it doesn't do THAT again this year!
That was a freak storm! Normally its sunny morning and maybe a few scatterd showers in the afternoon. Just enough to cool things down.
I love the 3pm sun-shower most everyday during the spring/summer! One of the many things I miss about the Front Range...
*sigh* I cant wait for the afternoon showers instead of the blizzards we have been getting in the mountains.
After the heat last weekend, I'm up for a swap, Adriana. 92 and high humidity in the first week of April—at faire—in garb—is just so wrong in this wizard's humble opinion. If we had been blessed with the white stuff, I would have gladly made snow wizards!

Snow? Wha?
This weekend i have a sci-fi convention i am going to and i remember a few years back that we had like a foot to a foot and a half of snow on the friday it started.
That was awesome! And it snowed all that weekend. (Hey, Garath, you should totally get me a picture of LeVar Burton this weekend)
I can't say I remember snow during the run of Faire, but it has snowed lightly during rehearsal. And I have seen snow in July in Colorado. Colorado's summer weather goes something along the lines of:
It's hot, unless it's cold.
It's sunny, unless the clouds show up.
It's dry, unless it's wet (or 3pm).
I usually have a cloak at hand for the morning and afternoons. And shade for midday.

I hope she lives! Just not the regretting it part. :)
I do prefer to live ... and I do make a point of living with as few regrets as possible. Time will tell. ;)
We may have convinced 2 more people to come on the trip with us. That should open up the cost on gas and hotel a little more. The convincing point for them was "Hey want to have as much fun as we do at TRF except instead of sleeping in tents, and drinking around a camp fire, we will be sleeping in a nice warm hotel, and drinking around a heated pool?" Their next words were "Sign me up!" ;D
Haha thats funny thats a hell of a selling point
Yeah.... bed sells me everytime!
I was going for the heated pool lol
Is there a pool-side bar?
Probably... but it will most likely come and go with the rennies who will be stocking it... ;) :D
I don't need stockings...just Jack Daniels :P

No... THE as in THE best and THE closest
There are other liquor stores in Castle Rock, AND there is one less than a mile from Faire, in Larkspur too.
The climate may be dry in Colorado, but the atmosphere is NOT!
After the trouble that the PP and I went through to get friggn' Marsala wine I'm glad there is easy access to "libations" ;D
Good. I'm used to "faire"ing in NE Texas, and it's like a checkerboard of wet/dry. I've learned to BYOB to be sure...
Sooooo.... ummm... are flasks "allowed" in the faire?

Myself, and Anwyn, we will be at the Children's Weekend July 2-3. Huzza! As part of the cast. We shall also be invading, myself and my family.(http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_kJ6V1a7YE9I/S-X2dfzcX7I/AAAAAAAACRM/RD3H7Qw6rwo/Exported.jpg)
Looks like the PP and are now officially out. The theater I work with FINALLY anounced when they are opening their summer show. They open it the same time as Rendevous, which means I have to be in town in case all heck breaks loose. :( :'( Trust me there are days where I wish I wasn't a good honrable, responcilbe person. /sigh
We REALLY wanted to go this year, as it may be our only vacation for a while. Depending on where next years will be we may get to go to it, and take fuzzlet along. Sorry guys, PP are out :'( :'( :'(
LadyStitch, Sorry to hear that. You and the PP will be missed.
I will remove your names from Romanceteers Ball, but let us know if anything changes in your status.
Otherwise, the show must go on. And with that - Break A Leg!
I'm surprised that they would open a show on a holiday weekend... but then I'm not in the biz.
Sure will miss having you there, but then you might consider it to be a blessing around that time. Not having been pregnant myself—at least in my current incarnation—I can't say for sure, but I would think that traveling that distance might be rather uncomfortable. Won't you be in about your seventh month by then?
Alot of tourists come into town then, and since the theater is a bit of a landmark, they like to open shows right then to catch the crowds.
Part of me was thinking the drive up might be a little hard on me as it is. If I sit still with my feet down longer than an hour, my ankles can start to ache, even now. I don't want to guess what they will in a month and half. I would be 28-29 weeks along by the time of rendevous.
It just stinks that we had been really wanting to go, and get it pulled out from under us is a PITA. They way I see it by the time Sherwood, and Scarby comes along next year we are going to be twitching for faire. And we will have a little one to spoil in the mean time.
Well, in any case, Stitch, you worry about taking care of yourself. That's the most important thing. We'll keep the faire fires burning for you.
Hey all its been awhile since I have been around the site. Im happy to say that i just booked a room at the Comfort Inn and Suites. So you can mark myself and my nephew down as attending I cant wait I have wanted to see the Colorado Faire for a while now. Kariuss aka Captain James Squall

She has my permission too! Your wife is a lovely lady, Al! ;) On a serious note (which is hard for me) I don't recall anyone being snarky when we went to CoRF last year. Thanks Lady Kett! Hmm, I'm not really sure how a steampunk drummer would look, but I
can bring steampunk for one day. I'll probably bring one of my drums, but I doubt if I'll carry it around all day!
Dad is unable to attend...but anyone else interested in riding the Cog train to the top of Pikes Peak...we are taking the 12:00 train on Friday.
I guess I'll leave my weapons at home... I dont want to try to explain what a Sgain Dubh is to the TSA.
Al, and Cowgrrl, upon further reflection of my post I feel the need to qualify...Cowgrrl is indeed a lovely lady. That was not the non-serious part, only the ribbing that tangentially (is that a word?) hit Merlin.
Since I typed "on a serious note" just after that, I wanted to make sure your lovely lady was not snarling in the background at me! :)
Are ya'll driving up or flying up?
LK, I knew you were serious about that part :)
No, she was not snarling ;)
We'll be driving up, but I'm not sure about the route yet. My parents are in NW OK, and we may stay the night there, but it also adds about 100 miles. We'll definitely see them on the way back.

Cowgrrl,
They're not snarky about garb, as long as it's not SOO revealing. Or too scary. (some have been turned away to change certain pieces that were deemed too scary for the wee ones).
But if a pink Hairy can get in......? You should be golden.

And then there where the two male dancers that came in just furs hiding their... and nothing more. I got a few pics of them before they got escourted out to the cotum shop to resnt caps to cover their behinds and some of their front ends. Got pics of them both ways.
As I have it worked out in my brain, it's not too revealing. Stomach & back plus a wee bit of cleavage.
Lady Kett: No worries. I didn't detect any ill will at all, just a lovely compliment. As one who was verbally bullied all through school I am (by my own admission), a bit hypersensitive but nothing 'pinged'.
Right now the owner is on a family friendly kick so if you think someone might complain about it showing to much just bring a change in the car just in case. When i came as the big pink Hairy that is what i did. I did see last year a woman in a chainmail bikini that she was asked to put something on cause it showed to much.

He, She, They, are an RF member/s in very good standing.
I just found out this past week of their attendance.
And they are playing in the Romanceteers Ball, and they're favorite list answers are most imaginative.
Good luck to those whom will be paired with this/these Special Mystery Guest/s.
They should be attending the Meet N Greet Friday evening, July 1, 2011, at The Rockyard in Castle Rock.

It's getting less and less certain for us, every day. :( I should know for sure in about a week, though.
Still hoping for our miracle...

We, too, make an extended trip, but the week after.
Gen and I hope to make the meet and greet, and also to be out early both mornings...can't wait to meet friends, old and new!!
after a sort of meet and greet last weekend at Chippewa - do you think we could come up with a way to know who is who, since we are out of 'chatacter"? M'Lady suggested wearing our hats or something.
I talked with a couple people last weekend that took a bit to then go - "oh, now I know who you are!"
My beard might give me away to some people...
You see a guy in his 50s with a plushy squirrel swinging off the end of a walking stick, it'll be a dead give away...

Tis a thought!
I wore different garb than usual opening day ... and so many people didn't recognize me. And we were still at faire.
Blushing,
Perhaps we can make blank pins so that everyone can write their names on and wear them during RenDezvous for better identification?
Can we put something like that together?
Pass them out at Meet N Greet and Saturday morning?
I beleive that was done at past RenDezvous'.
Consider it done!
Oh! I hate wearing name tags! Then people know who to blame when the bar catches fire! ;)

And we know at the bar who to charge our drinks to ;D
Or you could take the "Being John Malkovich" route, where everyone could write a different name on their tags - "Being (insert name)".
"Will the real (insert name), please Ren Up........ this mess"?
Ignore that wizard behind the curtain.... :o
Just adding confirmation that at least at Maryland and Scarborough for the past 2 Rendezvous, there were name tags. Unobtrusive ones, more like favors with a name on them to help identify each other. Picked up at meet and greet, morning tailgate or some central location - and worn prominently so we could see them on each other.
On a side note: I need to find me a pewter pin company to make me a Lady Kett & Sidekick pin...
There is a shop thru entrance gate, end of the lane, up on the left, at first intersection, that can do that for you.

Ok... so I haven't been sure for a while now if we were going to be able to make it... and I'm STILL not. However... the miracle I've been hoping for... just came in this morning!!! Got a call about a large design job that would give me the money I need, and if I can get it finished in time, then it's POSSIBLE that we can still make it. No promises, but still... I was expecting to announce this morning that we were not going to be there... and this is so very much better than that!!! :D
Fingers crossed for us... please!!!
Rani i would be one really sad big pink fairy if you didn't make it.
I am crossing my fingers.
I have my fingers crossed, my toes crossed, and my eyes crossed.... that should just about do it... OW! I ran into the wall....
Well, don't HURT yourself, Merlin!!! :D I DID get the project, but we'll just have to see if it will get us to RenDezvous, or not.
It could, instead, get us back to Colorado... for good... but that would definitely mean missing RenDezvous. However, it would also mean that Scally and I would be home... at last.

I think you can figure some of it out on your own ;)
Lord Gregory Spicer and Lady "Cinnamon" Spicer will be attending from Minnesota. It will be our first time to Colorado, so we have no clue what we are doing. We'll need specifics for finding any of you!
Also, is anyone able to get discounted tickets?
Sorry if this info has already been posted. There are an awful lot of posts to go through!
Greg and Kimberly Grandprey
Discount tickets are available at King Soopers. This is one of the major grocery chains around here. I think they are $15.95 a ticket.
Look forward to see you and there is a Meet and greet on Friday in Castle Rock

Huzzah!! The Baroness and I look very much forward to seeing you again. You both were most kind to us during our visit to Minnesota last season.
Friends,
I am sorry to say that Nyte and I will not be attending Rendezvous this year. We had been planning on going since the announcement last year, and up until now we have only had the opportunity to attend one, and that was at our home faire a few years ago. Due to Nyte losing her job last fall, and having just filed for bankruptcy, we just don't have the means for the travel and expenses required. We hope that everyone enjoys themselves, and look forward to hopefully being able to attend future Rendezvous' to meet all the wonderful members here on R/F.com.
I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say your presence will be missed, and I hope your recovery comes quickly.

Well said, Wizard!
I'm bummed, we had a good time in Chippewa - will see you in Minnesota.
Baron, we're looking forward to our first visit. Hoping to make the mixer and find out more about the festival acts/shopping/etc. We might need a guide - lol! ;)
Lady Spicer, you shant be the only CoRF virgin on site. My Lady Nimue and I will be in Colorado for the first time in over 40 years!
That is definitely a relief. Will 2 days be enough to skim the top of the festival?
If I can ever figure out how to set up an avatar, I will put me and my Lord's picture up for you to see. Of course, we are on FB and have a page for Lord and Lady Spicer Barons of Wochester
Wow, checked in this morning and no new posts since last night - did everyone fall asleep?? :o
The squirrel, the kilt and the bathing suit are packed...let the Colorado vacation begin...see you all next Friday night!

Lord and Lady Spicer,
Nothing would give us greater pleasure than to guide you around Larkspurshire. Alas, our cast duties allow us all too little time for doing so.
Nonetheless, here is link to the Festival website: http://www.coloradorenaissance.com/
If you page down a bit, you will see a link to this year's program on the left hand side of the main page. Click on it and it will upload a pdf of the the program, which lists all of the stage acts, vendors, food choices, drinks, etc. Enjoy!

Wizards don't use a bathing suit...
Baron... They could always allow His lordship Toki and my self to lead them astray. We are after all nobles

The Baroness and I will be happy to perform the introductions should an opportunity present!
And we would be most honored to be introduced!
We are staying at the Days Inn in Castle Rock. Since we are unfamiliar with the territory, we have to determine where the meet and greet is... (BTW, where is it and at what time?)
Grammercy!
Goodness, there are a few other threads giving me the information I need... ignore the comment of the meet and greet in my previous post!
Well, I think 2 days is Almost enough time to see it all...but not quite. Just remember, all the fun things are uphill.
My personal top 3 things to see at do at CoRF:
1. Charming and Dashing
2. Cast in Bronze - Carol of the Bells as it was MEANT to be played.
3. Great Balls of Fire (fire breather)
Best stage for continous shade? Fortune
Best stage for continous beer? Pirate's Pub
Best stage for continous family entertainment? Celestial Stage - usually...
Best stage for Unique acts? Globe Stage
Best stage for continous Puke and Snot? Puke and Snot stage...duh. ;)
Best stage for meeting people? Castle Rose Stage - It's smack in the middle and usually very loud.
Best stage for embarrassing your friends? Fortune Stage (it brags a hypnotist)
I am more than willing to point people in the direction of fun...if they know what's fun for them. I will probably be at every joust, because I'm dork like that and I will never sit in the Puke and Snot audience again - not my cup of tea. But I'm very good at point out the fun. ;D
Lady Spicer, if you are staying at the Days Inn on Castleton Way, you are basically across the street from the Friday night gathering place. My lovely bride and I are in the Comfort Suites next door.
Starting time is 7 pm, the place is The Rockyard Brewery. There's a thread Here (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=15429.0) and you can add your name to the list at the end! See you soon!

Well I would add the New shows of the Big Cats and Johnny Fox, Tanda. Both are fantastic
I'm looking forward to seeing Arsene again. Saw him for the first time this Spring at Scarby and he had be blowing ale out of my nose!
REALLY excited about the big cats. I love cats! I'll pass on Cast in Bronze...
My favors are done!! I hope Ya'll are bringing favors!!
BTW - I have started a new blog about how it feels to work as a face painter/vendor at the faire. Please visit it and take a peek. While you are there, make sure you subscribe to it! I would appreciate it!

The cats in the Big Cat show aren't all big. The serval, ocelot and caracal's are pretty amazing cats, too.

Aren't they all technically Little Cats? They all purr and none roar. Even leopards are little cats. 'Course, A Little Cat Show doesn't sound as cool.
Arrgghhh... my favors! ???
All sitting in pieces in my living room. Sounds as though meeting the lot of you means that we should have many ready! We do so love to share! :D

They have a Bengal tiger. While young, will get much bigger. And the leopard is considered the second strongest cat. The jaguar is the strongest.
Love 'Charming & Dashing'!! We saw them their first year. I'm excited they're still there.
Other than that Celtic Legacy & I've got to hit up Grichels. They're suppose to have some things back in stock that I was needing at Scarborough.
I don't remember if I've actually mentioned this any place, but I am working at the faire; I was planning on playtroning but alas, no such luck. In any case, I'll pop into the Saturday morning tailgate for a bit and then I can be located at the pop booth adjacent to the Castle Rose Stage. Just ask for Zoe. Of course, I might be floating around working in one of the pubs for a short time, so who knows. But more than likely I'll be found at the pop stand.
Nim and I will come looking for you. You did mention that you had gotten work there. We had looked forward to meeting you at Scarby when your trip got trashed, so this will make up for it. :)
(sigh) Blushing, will you please officially remove Scally and myself from the roll? :'(
We will very sadly be unable to attend RenDezvous this year, unfortunately. In fact, it looks very much like I will be working through more than half of next weekend...
We will miss you all very much, and be thinking of you, and all the fun you will be having, while we're melting here in the 104+ degree heat. I know you will all have a wonderful time, though!!!

According to "The Cat Man" in the show (and wikipedia), Lions, Tigers, Leopards, and Jaguars are the four species of "big cats". So, I think both the leopard and tiger qualify as "big cats". I didn't mean to put down the others. Quite the opposite. Those little (relatively speaking) ones are just amazing.

I didn't know there was a tiger! Yay! And huh...I thought leopards were little cats...guess I need to review my mammalogy notes. ;D Maybe it was mountain lions I was thinking of. A very large Little Cat.
Servals are awesome.
I hope you all, have a wonderful time!
Travel safe!

Well... only if your magic is a whole lot stronger than mine... because I've been casting every spell I know, making every wish I can think of and throwing coins in every fountain I can find (should have seen the looks I got at the water fountain the other day... ::) )... and so far nothing has worked. We would have to leave by tomorrow morning to be able to get there in time to get rested up for Faire, and I still have three solid days of
work rowing I have to do before I can even unlock my leg chains from the
computer oar locks!
Some "cruise" this has turned out to be... I'll never use
that travel agent again!!! :o :P
I know we'll get to see each other at some point, and hopefully it will be this year!!! Have an amazing time!!!
:'( Gonna miss you, Hon... Doubt that we'll hit TRF, but one never knows...we may not be able to wait from end of RenDezvous until opening Sherwood...
Crazy day today... trying to get stuff ready, and trying to get all my travel directions straight, and my DSL modem dies!! OY! Got a new one...D.O.A.... everything looked right, but would NOT connect to Internet! Screwed with it for an hour or more, then just said—well, I can't repeat that. Finally went back into town and got a replacement. Hooked it up...in 3 minutes, I was online.
Anyway, now we've got Homer, the Odyssey, all packed except for my Jack Daniel's—I need one or two more toddies before beddie-bye. Expect to hit the road about 5 am.
Well, Rani, don't feel too bad about missing this trip. I'm sure we're going to have just a rotten, stinking time...
Liar... :P
But thanks for trying to make me feel better, anyway... :D And I want everyone there to have an incredibly WONDERFUL time!!!
Oh, and I want you and Nim to fall in love with the mountains so you'll just be compelled to move there with us when we go! ;) heheh
Drive safe, and update your progress so we know you're still on the road!!! And Give Nim a hug from Scally and me, and hugs from both of us to everyone you meet while you're there, please!!!
Ah, shucks, Rani! I fell in love with Colorado when I was there last... in 1969. Just way too many things holding me here. Who knows what will happen in the future, though. At least, we did get to meet you and Scally this year. Hugs to you both.
The colorado fairies will be guest cast that day! so I will be there!!!

Well, I think you'll find that just about everything has changed... except my mountains. ;) You'll just have to make CoRF one of your "circuit" stops, then, so you and Nim can come and stay with us every year... once we actually GET there, anyway!
And now I'm going to stop stealing space on this thread! ;) Enjoy, everyone!!! I'll be thinking of all of you this weekend... and expecting to see some hilarious photos in just a few days!!! :D

Enjoy the train ride! We should be checked in by the time you return...
Hey...I'll take pictures and photoshop you in them! It'll be just like you were there. We're in 305.
We made it to Amarillo by about 5pm, got about 7 hours to go tomorrow, plan on arriving in Castle Rock about 4:30-5.

I got some of my favors done to share with all those wonderful people we plan to meet tonight!
Lady Spicer
We are planning on leaving here at six and walking over... I think it's on you way if you want to meet us in our lobby? Comfort Inn next door to you...
We'll meet you in the lobby then! Will be great to get a chance to know you :)
I think we'll be walking over too (good way to work off the alcohol on the way back of course...)
What time are you thinking of eating?
As soon as we get there... so, how long are waits to eat here is Castle Rock?
Want to join us? Make it a merry group? Are there 2 or 4 of you?
I think we'll tag along, too, if you don't mind. Meet you in the lobby about 6:00, Merlin.
The more the merrier! See everyone who wants dinner early about 6-6:10 in the lobby! ;D
