I have a coworker looking for someone who can help design and sew a brides' maid dress. This is for a modern (2011) dress.
the wedding is April 23, so she would like a week in advance of that for the final dress.
Does anyone have a recommendation? I realize that I lurk (a lot) on this list, but if you can recommend anyone I and she would appreciate it.
Sadly I do not do weddings but I might have a contact for you.

That is a link to the DFW costumers guild. It is made up of mostly local seamstresses. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

In URL's, I've found that substituting the ASCII codes is sometimes necessary for the Forum software to link correctly.
Take Care,

Thank you for the recommendations. I did pass them along to her.
April is pushing it. Most of us need six months to a year for making a wedding dress, especially one that is designed for her. Bridesmaids will add to the time needed.

This not for a wedding dress - just a brides' maid dress. I'm sure that she is finding out the timeline constraints.
For a bridesmaid on her own, I'd want three months, especially at this time of year when there are lots of other wedding projects closing in...
I sent you a message, don't know if you got it.
I am up in snowy Minnesota. I am unable to help. But I do work on a lot of Bridal/Prom Alterations, in addition to Custom work. Bridal work require months in advance to the wedding.
I have been working on a wedding dress, making an addition to the bodice of a lovely gown to make it more Modest for a Bride getting married at the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City. A gown with tons of beading, a plunging back, and Sweetheart neckline. Bearing shoulders, showing any cleavage is verbotten!! I have bee wrestling with this for 2 weeks now and finally came up with a design that worked. Lots of extra hours I cannot charge the Bride for, but the initial ones already logged.
What I did was make a piece to sew onto the dress that has capped sleeves, a V-like neckline that coordinates with the original neckline, in the same shade of Ivory of the gown, that buttons down the back so that no underclothing is visible. . It took 3 tries and 12 unpaid hours to get it right. A learning experience for sure.
Now back to the Period Play I am working on.
